My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building
Chapter 455: Innate Eight Trigrams Compass
“Chu Feng, Senior Sister Bai Han is here.” Not long after, Su Miaoke and Bai Han walked in together.
“Senior Sister Bai Han, I’ll leave Miaoke in your care,” Chu Feng said to Bai Han.
“Master told me to stay with you,” Bai Han said.
“That’s not necessary. Your job right now is to get Miaoke back to the Celestial Sword Sect as quickly as possible. I’ll only be able to rest easy once she’s safe. Besides, the Sect will be very safe with the two of you there. If anything happens, you can let me know anytime,” Chu Feng said.
Chu Feng wasn’t worried about his own situation. Besides, he still had Chu Tianshan with him, which was why he didn’t want Bai Han to stay behind.
He just wanted Bai Han to hurry up and escort his wife away.
“Are you sure you can handle this? There will only be two of you,” Bai Han asked, looking at Chu Feng.
“Yes, I’m sure. You two should hurry and leave. If you both stay, I’ll have to divide my attention to protect you. That’s what would truly put me in danger. Just focus on protecting the Celestial Sword Sect, and that’ll be enough,” Chu Feng said.
The moment he said that, the expression on Bai Han’s face changed.
‘Was he looking down on her? Did he think she’d just get in the way if she stayed?’
“Fine. If you insist on playing the tough guy, I can’t stop you. I’ll take Miaoke back to the Celestial Sword Sect. I just hope you manage to stay alive and make it back,” Bai Han said icily.
“Hey, don’t worry. I’m not that easy to kill. Besides, I’m only twenty-eight; I have no intention of dying young. Go back and tell Master I’ll clean house for the Celestial Sword Sect. The Snow Sword Sect is doomed,” Chu Feng said with a confident smile.
He didn’t give a second thought to the enemies he was about to face. In his eyes, no matter how many of them there were, they were all just pushovers.
With things having been said so plainly, Bai Han naturally had nothing left to add, so she left without another word.
After Bai Han and Su Miaoke had left, Chu Feng shut the door securely and began to refine the Eight Trigrams Compass.
‘A Magical Artifact… what an incredible thing. The era when these could be forged was thousands of years ago, at least. They’re true antiques. The materials they’re forged from are top-grade—impossible to find anywhere in the world today. Born from absorbing the essence of the sun, moon, and the world itself, crafted with special forging techniques, and infused with a soul… only then do they gain a spirit. Only then can they be called Magical Artifacts!’
Chu Feng marveled. He then released his Divine Soul from between his eyebrows, letting it attach to the Compass. Piercing the skin in the same spot, he let a single drop of blood fall onto the artifact.
Soon, the entire Eight Trigrams Compass began to stir.
At first, it was unassuming and ancient, looking no different from any other antique.
But when Chu Feng’s drop of blood landed on it, the entire surface of the Compass began to shimmer with a faint light.
What’s more, the Eight Trigrams Compass began to spin on its own.
At that moment, Chu Feng frowned. A strange glint appeared in his eyes, for he felt an odd sensation from the Compass—something he couldn’t quite describe or put into words.
He just felt it was special, as if there was some kind of connection between himself and the Compass.
“Go!” Chu Feng commanded, controlling the Eight Trigrams Compass with his Divine Soul.
In an instant, the Eight Trigrams Compass shot out, landing several meters away with a WHOOSH.
“Come back!” Chu Feng shouted again.
The Eight Trigrams Compass immediately flew back, as if it had a soul of its own.
“So obedient… The Innate Eight Trigrams Compass?” Chu Feng was overjoyed. As he caressed the Innate Eight Trigrams Compass, a stream of information flooded his mind.
‘Hmm? It’s incomplete? Damaged?’ Chu Feng frowned as he processed the information.
He took a moment to process the general gist of the information.
This was only a Magical Artifact; above it were true Spiritual Artifacts. That tier, however, was far too high for him to encounter at his current level.
Just possessing a single Magical Artifact was already an incredible feat.
Following the instructions he’d just received, Chu Feng began to control the artifact.
He activated the Innate Eight Trigrams Compass and sent it flying. With a single thought, the entire compass instantly expanded. In the blink of an eye, it was as large as a table, and it was still growing. This gave Chu Feng quite a fright.
He hastily focused his thoughts again, shrinking the Innate Eight Trigrams Compass and recalling it.
The artifact could change size according to his thoughts; it felt as though he could do whatever he wished with it.
Chu Feng couldn’t stop examining the artifact; he was so fascinated he couldn’t bear to put it down.
If he made it expand while throwing it into a crowd, it could probably crush a group of people to death. It was definitely a deadly weapon.
“It’s a great treasure, but the only drawback is that it’s damaged. I wonder if I’ll ever get a chance to fix it. But how would one even go about repairing something like this?” Chu Feng felt a pang of regret over this.
But regret was useless; he had no way to fix it.
He knew a thing or two about Alchemy, but when it came to forging or repairing Magical Artifacts, he was completely clueless.
“Oh well, it’s already plenty powerful as it is. I’ll worry about fixing it if an opportunity comes up later,” Chu Feng said.
