My Mother-in-Law Gifted Me a Building
Chapter 497: Stealthy Infiltration
All nine of them were killed by Chu Feng alone.
It had taken only a few minutes. Inside the grand hall, bodies littered the floor, staining the ground red with fresh blood.
Heads had rolled. The overpowering stench of blood filled the air.
After cutting them down, Chu Feng’s expression remained cold and indifferent, showing no sign of emotion.
‘Anyone who dared to target me had to be prepared to die.’
Having killed them, Chu Feng left immediately. He didn’t bother with the other members of the Netherworld Sect.
After all, they had been the true masterminds. Now that all nine were dead, there was no need to seek out trouble with anyone else.
By the time Chu Feng walked outside, it was already morning. The area was starting to fill up with people, including a good number of tourists.
These people came here merely out of curiosity, drawn by a morbid fascination.
As soon as they satisfied their curiosity, they would leave.
After all, the place was extremely eerie. They couldn’t stay.
The air filled with shouts and noise as tour guides introduced the surrounding architecture and recounted local legends.
But these stories were generally quite creepy, and some of the more timid people were already frightened to tears.
Chu Feng paid them no mind and left the area directly.
Just as he got back to his car, his wife called.
“Honey, you finally answered! I tried calling you all last night, but I couldn’t get through. Do you have any idea how worried I was?” Su Miaoke said, a hint of annoyance in her voice.
Unable to reach him, she had been worried something had happened, especially since it was so dangerous there.
“There was no signal where I was yesterday, so I didn’t get your calls. I’m on my way back now. I should be home before dark, so don’t worry,” Chu Feng said with a smile.
“You dealt with it that quickly?” Su Miaoke was shocked to hear he was already on his way back.
“Yeah. Those bastards were really treacherous. They were out to get me, just as I suspected. But I’ve taken care of them all now,” Chu Feng said, still fuming at the thought.
“So, were you in any danger?” Su Miaoke asked anxiously.
“Yeah, I ran into a bit of trouble, but it’s nothing serious. Don’t worry,” Chu Feng said.
“What? You were really in danger? What exactly happened?” Just then, the Celestial Sword Sect Leader’s voice cut in, sounding extremely urgent and concerned.
“I’ll tell you when I get back. It was really dangerous; I almost died. But it turned out to be a blessing in disguise, and I even came out of it with a few benefits. I can’t talk right now, I’m driving. We’ll talk properly when I get home.” After saying that, Chu Feng hung up.
Everything had happened so fast, plunging Chu Feng into a crisis.
‘But it had also taught me a valuable lesson. Without the Wealth God’s Order, I would most likely be dead by now, my body possessed by another.’
‘Then my family, my wife… everyone I care about could have been harmed!’
The experience made Chu Feng all the more cautious and strengthened his resolve to find the inheritance on the Misty Immortal Mountain.
Only by doing so could he enable his entire family to practice Cultivation, giving them the power to protect themselves.
Otherwise, relying on him alone, there would inevitably be times when he couldn’t be there to protect them.
This was a lesson Chu Feng would never forget.
‘I can never let my guard down again. I was starting to think I was invincible, but then I ran into an old monster who’s been alive for thousands of years.’
‘That thing wasn’t just alive; it nearly got me killed.’
Therefore, even when he went to the Misty Immortal Mountain, Chu Feng knew he had to be extremely careful.
‘Who knows what other terrifying freaks might be there?’
While Chu Feng was driving, something was amiss back in Fuhe Village.
A group of people had secretly infiltrated the village, hiding in the forested mountain behind it.
Their leader was the Vice Valley Master of the Spirit Sword Valley. Back on the Big Snow Plateau, she had been nearly killed by Chu Feng. And while she feared his power, she also hated him to the very bone.
So, she had made a decision: she would sneak into Fuhe Village and get ready to take Chu Feng out.
If anyone else knew what she was planning, they would have called her a lunatic.
Only a mind like hers could concoct such a brain-dead plan.
The main issue was that Chu Feng was simply too strong. His power was so great that it deeply unsettled the Spirit Sword Valley, making them fear he might one day come to attack their sect.
So, after some discussion, they concluded it was better to strike first and gain the upper hand.
From within the woods, the group gazed at the villa where Chu Feng’s family lived.
“Are you certain Chu Feng’s family is in that particular building?” the Spirit Sword Valley’s Vice Valley Master asked.
“Vice Valley Master, rest assured. We’ve investigated this place thoroughly. Chu Feng’s family lives in that largest house. Our intelligence is absolutely reliable and accurate,” the man replied.
This man was from a minor Sect and had been specifically sent to investigate Fuhe Village.
These minor Sects typically earned commissions by providing intelligence to other Sects.
