My Online Girlfriend Has a Twin Sister

Chapter 461 - 300: Both Twins Are Pregnant, Won’t Their Mother Skin You Alive? (Part 2)

All of Chen Yuan’s acting yesterday was for this very moment.

Everything was proceeding steadily according to plan. Chen Yuan had already predicted that his parents would be in the living room now, preparing breakfast and maybe even discussing whether or not to wake him.

He was completely right.

Just then, Mr. Chen and Liu He came through the front door, placing all the breakfast they had bought on the table.

"Okay, let’s hurry up and call a locksmith. Tell him in advance to be as quiet as possible. We can just sort it out over the phone."

"Hold on," Chen Yuan said, waving his hand. "Let me take a look at this door. I was too tired yesterday. Maybe I can fix it."

"Alright, you take a look. I’ll go wake Yaoyao up."

As she spoke, Jiangg Ning hurried over to shake the soundly sleeping Yaoyao awake. The drowsy girl didn’t know what was happening. Thinking she was in her own home, she told her sister to leave so she could sleep a little longer.

"Still sleeping? We’ll see how embarrassed you are when Uncle and Auntie find you."

"Sis, what are you talking about..." Jiangg Yao tried to pull the blanket back over her head.

Meanwhile, Chen Yuan was at the door, using a screwdriver to put the screws he’d removed back in place. He restored everything on the door to its original state. In just one minute, the lock was as good as new.

He dusted off his hands.

"All fixed."

"That fast?" Jiangg Ning turned her head in surprise and walked over, still in disbelief. She tucked a stray strand of hair from her forehead back, then tentatively fiddled with the doorknob. When she saw that Chen Yuan had really fixed it, her face lit up with joy. "Chen, you’re amazing!" she exclaimed.

"It wasn’t that hard. I just tinkered with it for a second."

"I couldn’t get that groove to catch at all last night, no matter what I tried, but you fixed it in an instant. This saves us so much trouble, and we don’t have to call a repairman," Jiangg Ning praised him generously. "Wow, I’m really seeing you in a new light."

All the praise made Chen Yuan a little embarrassed, and he averted his gaze.

A sudden wave of guilt made Chen Yuan feel uneasy.

’This must be how the sisters felt when they tricked me,’ he thought. ’The same complete, unquestioning trust.’ If Jiangg Ning had just thought about last night’s events for a moment, she would have noticed countless holes in the story.

But she didn’t think twice, easily stepping into the trap the big bad wolf had woven for his little lamb.

Jiangg Ning then pulled the dazed Jiangg Yao to her feet, urging her to get up so they could take this chance to go home.

They pushed open the door.

The two sisters tiptoed along the wall. Jiangg Yao had pulled up the hood of her pajamas. She was mostly awake now but still looked completely drained.

Chen Yuan was strolling ahead nonchalantly, completely unconcerned about whether his footsteps would wake his parents. Worried, Jiangg Ning reached out and tugged on his sleeve.

She gestured for him to also stick to the wall and walk quietly, preferably on his tiptoes. It wasn’t far from the bedroom, through the living room, to the safety of the entryway. If she could just get through this agonizing half-minute, Jiangg Ning wouldn’t have to be so nervous anymore.

That’s what she thought, anyway.

Until she took those few steps out of the bedroom, just before entering the living room.

Chen Yuan went first, with the two sisters following close behind into the living room. But they immediately heard low voices.

"I’ll go get our son. After breakfast, he needs to head to the station for his class. It’s a small thing if we miss our high-speed train, but he can’t be late for class."

"Alright, you go ahead. Hey, He, where did you put your sun hat? I can’t seem to find it."

"I already packed it. It’s in my bag. I’ll grab it when we head out."

Standing to one side of the living room, Jiangg Ning heard the approaching footsteps. Her pupils constricted in shock.

’Speak of the devil.’ The truth was nothing like what Chen Yuan had said about his parents still being asleep. The two adults were already up and dressed, breakfast was on the table, and they looked ready to grab their bags and head for the station at any moment.

In this critical moment, Jiangg Ning’s brain short-circuited. She instinctively started to back away, wanting to return the way she came and hide in the bedroom.

Before she could react...

...the next moment...

"Dad, Mom, you’re awake?" Chen Yuan said with a yawn, greeting them as if nothing was wrong.

"Oh, I was just about to come get you! Speak of the devil. Hurry and wash up, then go get Ningning and Yaoyao. The buns and congee your dad and I went out to buy are still warm—"

Liu He was beaming, but she stopped mid-sentence.

Chen Yuan deliberately stepped aside, revealing the two sisters he had been blocking from view.

Liu He’s smile instantly froze on her face. The corners of her lips were still turned up, but in an indescribably stiff way. She stood there, stunned, her mouth slightly agape as she stared at the two sisters in their pajamas.

For a second, she didn’t even process it. It was only a moment later that she realized...

...the two sisters were coming out of Chen Yuan’s bedroom.

In an instant, Liu He’s expression became a fascinating sight to behold. The shock in her eyes was crystal clear.

Jiangg Ning found herself locked in an awkward stare with her future mother-in-law. She had nothing to say in her defense; she had no choice but to stand there, frozen.

The strange atmosphere alerted Mr. Chen, who poked his head out to see what was going on.

He glanced once, pulled his head back, then immediately snapped it around again. The look behind his clear lenses was one of indescribable shock.

And then, of course, there was Jiangg Yao, who was still groggy and completely oblivious to the situation.

She could also sense how strange the atmosphere was, so she just stood there looking helpless and innocent. At this point, her only option was to play dumb.

Their eyes met.

Several of them stood there with the same stunned expression, no one moving a muscle.

The living room opened onto a balcony with an open window. A loud car horn blared from outside, piercing the silence and ringing in everyone’s ears.
