My Online Girlfriend Has a Twin Sister
Chapter 773: The Grand Wedding Day (Part 2)
No one saw him as a child anymore.
From now on, he was the pillar of an entire family, the source of his parents’ confidence, and the rock his wives relied on. He was the bridge from one generation to the next.
Under such intense pressure,
Two things finally emerged to ease Chen Yuan’s stress.
One was that the luxury shop Jiangg Ruxue and Zhou Cha were collaborating on was now officially in the works. After hearing about it, Jiangg Ning got involved too, which finally gave Ningning something interesting to do.
The shop’s location, scale, renovations, and design—
Jiangg Ning handled almost all of it.
She was so reliable that you couldn’t possibly ask for more, leading even Zhou Cha to marvel that being pregnant didn’t diminish Jiangg Ning’s passion for her work in the slightest.
In just over a month, she had taken care of nearly everything.
Chen Yuan was happy for a time. But when he found that the shop preparations were complete and Jiangg Ning was idle again, he reverted to his previous state… He had only just stopped brewing his goji berry tea, and now he was back at it.
Ningning and Yaoyao—he couldn’t neglect either of them, day in and day out. Even a man of iron couldn’t withstand it.
Fortunately, he was young. He could grit his teeth and push through.
Just as Chen Yuan was starting to despair,
Jiangg Yao stepped up once again.
She relentlessly dragged her sister into gaming sessions, and finally, Jiangg Ning discovered how fun games could be. The two sisters then started playing day and night, completely losing track of the world around them…
One time, Chen Yuan watched them play.
He was surprised to find that Jiangg Ning was actually pretty good! This was a huge shock to him.
The days passed, one by one.
「One day.」
It was a day that would have seemed utterly unremarkable to most people. Everyone went about their business as usual—going to work or heading to school.
However, an envelope had appeared, as if by concert, on their office desks, in front of their dorm room doors, in their package lockers…
…
On the Lanjing metro, heading to her company, a petite girl was wearing a face mask and had Bluetooth earbuds in her ears. She held onto a handrail, lost in her own world as she listened to music, seemingly cut off from everyone around her.
She was dressed plainly, the type to disappear into a crowd. But every girl has a desire to look pretty, so even someone as ordinary as her had taken the time to curl her eyelashes and wear a little skirt.
It was a commute just like any other.
After a twenty-minute ride on Metro Line 13, she arrived at her company’s building.
“Wan, you’re right on time today.”
“Good morning, ma’am,” Wan said, taking off her headphones to greet her.
She had been working as a planner at a game company for several years. The pay wasn’t great, but it wasn’t bad. The commute wasn’t long, but it wasn’t short. You couldn’t say it was a good job, but it wasn’t a terrible one either.
As an ordinary person, Wan was quite content with her life.
She took the elevator up to her cubicle.
Wan had just put down her bag when her eyes suddenly focused on her desk. A small, pink envelope was sitting there.
She froze for a second, then picked it up curiously.
At first, Wan thought someone might have left it in the wrong place and didn’t dare open it. But she was the first one in the office today, and she had been the last to leave last night…
With that in mind, she tore open the envelope.
Lines of text met her eyes:
“Hello. I, Chen Yuan, along with my wives, Jiangg Ning and Jiangg Yao, will be holding our wedding ceremony on July 15th at the Kyoto Imperial Hotel. Guest entry will begin at 10:00 AM, and the ceremony will start at 11:00 AM. Please arrive at the designated hotel one day in advance. A dedicated driver has been arranged for you, my esteemed guest. For pick-up, please call: 188… We invite you to witness our happiness together.”
The stationery gave off the sweet fragrance of flower petals.
As she read, Wan couldn’t help but picture Chen Yuan’s earnest face. The deliberate, word-by-word tone was just like his stubborn personality.
After finishing the letter, it slowly dawned on Wan.
Her good friend… her best friend—Jiangg Yao was getting married!
“Ma’am! I need to request some time off!”
Suddenly, Wan shot up from her cubicle and rushed frantically toward the boss’s office.
Besides her,
Over at Lanjing University, on a sun-drenched, tree-lined avenue,
Liu Nan and a few others were huddled together, snatching a letter back and forth. Every one of them had a look of wide-eyed astonishment.
When Liu Nan, still groggy from waking up, saw an envelope on his desk, he rubbed his eyes. He thought it was a Love Letter from some junior in another department and was instantly ecstatic.
But as it turned out, this letter was even more exciting than a Love Letter.
“Third Brother is actually getting married?! And to two women? Oh my god… am I reading a fairy tale right now?”
“The guy’s superpower is being rich, so isn’t this normal? Hey… you think I should buy a suit? It’d be embarrassing to be a groomsman without one, right?”
“He’s getting married. The lovers finally get their happy ending. Third Brother is a responsible man—he didn’t abandon either of them. I have to respect his persistence. Why am I getting a little emotional?” Quan Yafeng, who was always rough on the outside but thoughtful on the inside, had tears welling up in his eyes.
Beyond his genuine happiness for his brother, he couldn’t help but feel a pang of disappointment.
Around the time Chen Yuan had gotten into a relationship, he too had become certain of his feelings for Li Bing. But their stories ended differently, a fact that was hard not to feel wistful about…
But then, a thought struck Quan Yafeng. ‘At the wedding… Chen Yuan will probably invite Li Bing, right?’
He was suddenly filled with anticipation.
“I need to get a suit tailored, too,” Quan Yafeng said abruptly.
