My Online Girlfriend Has a Twin Sister
Chapter 776: A Blissful Marriage (Part 2)
She suddenly realized that Chen Yuan had truly grown up. His shoulders were much broader than before, no longer possessing the immaturity of a boy.
One hundred and twenty-eight ceremonial cannon shots boomed from the Empress Hotel, their reports echoing through the sky. Clouds of colorful smoke billowed above the hotel, and the sound carried across all of Kyoto. Swallows gathered in the air while people on the streets below stopped in their tracks, watching in amazement.
The door of the lead wedding car was opened for Chen Yuan. Its hood was covered in countless vibrant roses. He ducked his head and settled into the back seat.
BANG—
BANG BANG—
Confetti cannons burst in an instant, and a sky full of flower petals rained down.
The car slowly began to move.
…
Meanwhile, in another part of the hotel, Jiangg Ning and Jiangg Yao sat on opposite corners of a spacious bed, already dressed in their gowns.
The bridesmaids, having also changed into their dresses, kept them company.
“Where on earth should we hide the shoes? Should we hide both of them in the same place?”
“Just find any spot. Let’s not make it too hard for him,” Jiangg Ning said, twirling a strand of her hair.
“Oh, but once he finds the shoes, he gets to take you away. You seem to be in quite a hurry to get married, Ningning,” Gu Wanqing teased. “Don’t worry, we won’t make it too hard on your darling husband.”
“Hmph. If you hide them too well, I can just give him a secret hint,” Jiangg Yao said with a grin.
“You’re so protective of him. Fine then, I’ll just put the veils over both of you. You won’t be able to make any facial expressions, let alone give hints.”
“I’m going to need a big red envelope, or I won’t let you two get away with marrying him that easily,” Wan said, crossing her arms.
“Is money really more important than me? Shouldn’t you be reluctant to let me go even *with* a red envelope? You can be bought off with just one measly envelope,” Jiangg Yao said, feigning anger.
“How would I dare stop you from getting married, my lady? You’ve already peeked downstairs several times. To say you’re wearing out your eyes from watching for him would be no exaggeration.”
“No, I haven’t…”
Jiangg Ning glanced at her younger sister, a smile involuntarily tugging at her lips.
In truth, both of them had been eagerly awaiting Chen Yuan’s arrival. Ever since their makeup was done, they had been constantly peeking out the window at the street below, watching for the wedding motorcade. They had even asked several times, “He won’t get here early, will he? What do we do if he shows up early?” But that was impossible, as the wedding planners were coordinating everything between both parties.
Chen Yuan would only set out once the brides were done with their makeup and preparations, and the hotel venue was fully decorated.
This just went to show how much anticipation was in the sisters’ hearts.
After all, they had been on such a long journey to finally reach this day.
Jiangg Ning was dressed in a red gown, one bare foot hidden beneath her skirt. She glanced down at her belly—it was precisely because she was pregnant that the wedding had been arranged in such a hurry.
If they waited another month, her belly would start to show, making the pregnancy obvious. She wouldn’t even be able to fit into her wedding dress then and would have to get the waistline adjusted.
Even today, when she put on her gown, she could feel it was a bit tight around her stomach.
Jiangg Ning caressed her belly and felt an inexplicable sense of reassurance. ‘Perhaps starting today, I won’t have to feel anxious about my status anymore.’
‘In the future, on the day our little baby is born, they will arrive into a big, loving family.’
‘They’ll grow up happy and joyful.’
“They’re here! I see the wedding cars!”
Suddenly, Wan, who was by the window, let out a cry.
In an instant, everyone in the room grew tense. The bridesmaids all rushed to the window to look. A procession of luxury cars, their hoods uniformly covered in red roses, appeared at the end of the road and rounded the corner.
“Quick, get ready! Barricade the door!”
“Where’s that chair we were going to use to block the door? Where did you put it?!”
“Bolt it for now! We’ll only unlock it after Chen Yuan and his groomsmen slip some red envelopes through. Otherwise, they’ll burst right in.”
The two sisters watched in amusement as their bridesmaids scurried about. One of Jiangg Yao’s friends even moved a chair directly in front of the door and sat down, using her own body as a barricade.
At the same time, the two sisters met each other’s gaze, and they could both see the nervousness revealed in the other’s eyes.
‘Chen Yuan is here!’
‘Soon, he’ll come in to claim his brides and take us both away. The wedding will proceed as planned, and we’ll have to face all our friends and relatives who have been waiting so long for this—it’s really our wedding day.’
Jiangg Yao turned and lowered her head, suddenly overwhelmed by a sense of unreality. It made her instinctively look down and touch her red gown; the soft, smooth fabric was so distinct beneath her fingertips. The entire hotel room was festively decorated. Not only was there a large “double happiness” character on the wall, but there were also countless strings of red lanterns hanging from the ceiling.
The red words on the wall, directly facing the bed, read “Happy Wedding.”
‘She had longed for this day for so long that now that it had finally arrived, time felt as if it had flown by in the blink of an eye. She had been counting down the days one by one, yet she still couldn’t quite grasp how quickly they had passed.’
“Sis, who do you guess he’ll carry downstairs first?”
“That’s not important,” Jiangg Ning said with a faint smile. “If he carries you down first, I won’t be angry, you know.”
“Then I suppose I can be magnanimous for once,” Jiangg Yao said, crossing her arms with a smirk. “If he carries you first, I won’t be angry either.”
“Yaoyao…”
“What is it, Sis?”
“You look so beautiful today, as lovely as a flower.”
“You’re just as stunning.”
With that, the two women looked at each other and smiled.
…
Downstairs, a group of men charged through the hotel entrance, nearly jamming the glass revolving doors. Chen Yuan, clutching two large bouquets of roses, was surrounded by the crowd, with his groomsmen flanking him.
They looked like a band of robbers, their gazes fierce as they pushed aside anyone who stood in their way.
