Chapter 775: A Happy and Blissful Marriage

The door to the guest room was pushed open, and several young men in black suits walked in. They looked left and right, their gazes finally locking onto Chen Yuan. After whispering among themselves for a moment, they quietly made their way over.

“Hey!”

Startled by the sudden ambush from behind, Chen Yuan froze for a second before turning around.

Instantly, a few familiar faces appeared before him. Chen Yuan’s stunned expression melted into a smile, the corners of his lips turning up.

“You’re here?”

These were his childhood friends, the ones he’d grown up with. They had left behind beautiful, youthful memories in the countless streets and alleys of Qishui County.

But his old playmates were still in school, while Chen Yuan had already taken a great leap forward in life, leaving them all far behind. Now, he was even about to marry two wealthy heiresses—though with his family background, no one could accuse him of being a kept man.

“It’s your wedding! You think we’d miss it?” The guys got handsy, crowding around Chen Yuan and patting him down. One moment they were inspecting his suit, the next they were ruffling his hair.

Having been in a position of authority for so long, Chen Yuan no longer carried the air of a naive college student. His friends found it a little strange looking at him now; he was a far cry from the person they used to spend all their time with.

“When did you get here?”

“Just now.”

The friends were a mix of tall, short, fat, and thin, all exuding the raw energy of college students. They used to be the tightest of bros. Chen Yuan would go to a friend’s house and claim he was bringing his friend home for the night. Then, the friend would go to Chen Yuan’s and tell Liu He that Chen Yuan was sleeping over at his place. This way, they’d fool both sets of parents—sometimes even three.

Once out of their homes, they’d hop on their bikes and race straight to the internet cafe to play games all night.

Back then, the entire internet cafe would be playing League of Legends. When there was an Ultra Rapid Fire event at night, the guys would start excitedly planning for it that morning.

Looking at them, Chen Yuan couldn’t help but reminisce about his own naive, bygone days.

“Have a seat. Once the ceremony starts, I won’t be able to hang out with you guys for long.”

“Of course, you’re the groom today…” His friend lowered his voice and whispered in his ear, “I just saw them. Your two brides are gorgeous. You’ve really done it, man, marrying two at once? What’s the plan?”

“My heart was torn in two. I had no choice.”

“Ooooh.”

BAM—

The door was pushed open, and a woman in a magnificent gown walked in.

“Chairman? Where are you?”

When Chen Yuan saw it was Mo Nana, he stood up and waved to her.

“Hurry, it’s time! You need to go pick up the brides! Are you ready?”

“I’m all set.”

“Where are the groomsmen?”

“Waiting outside.”

“Then let’s go now,” Mo Nana urged, flustered. The reason for her haste was that the brides were already done with their preparations and makeup; they were just waiting for Chen Yuan to come and get them.

“Okay,” he replied.

Taking a deep breath, Chen Yuan couldn’t tell if he was nervous or something else, but his legs felt a little weak as he walked. The thought that he would soon be facing Jiangg Ning and Jiangg Yao in a completely new capacity made his stomach flutter.

‘This day is finally here…’

‘From now on, whether in wealth or wealth, in arguments or conflicts, I’ll have to think twice before doing anything. Because now I’ll be a man with a family… The home far away in Qishui County will no longer be my only one.’

With the support and supervision of both families’ elders, a brand-new little family was about to be born.

And in this little family were the people he loved most: the two girls he had promised to protect for the rest of his life. They didn’t care about the judgment of society, the unknown road ahead, or the unpredictability of life. They chose to face everything with the man they both loved. No matter how many hardships and obstacles the world threw at them, the hands of these three would forever be intertwined.

Life is born of suffering. From our first babbling words, we must experience so many setbacks, injustices, and hurts. Yet we grow with an upward-reaching heart, searching for the sun, bathing in its light, believing in everything we believe in, and letting the world around us undergo monumental changes.

Never mind that society is rife with materialism, that people come and go in a hurry, that everyone gets together in casual, disposable relationships only to pack up and part ways. In such a world, persisting in loving one person has become the most foolish thing to do.

When you insist on loving one person, you’re mocked by your peers and given the cold shoulder by society. People advise you not to give your heart away, because they think it’s stupid. They believe that solemn vows of eternal love are not to be trusted, and that the deeper you love, the more you’ll get hurt. It’s as if everyone has grown so accustomed to the casualties of love that no one finds any pity for the one who gives their true heart.

They just think they had it coming…

In a twisted society like this.

Some people still believe in love. They hold fast to their own view of it, keeping their bodies and souls pure, quietly persisting in becoming better versions of themselves. All for the day when their destined person appears, so that they can have the courage to say, “I have waited a long time for this day. I am worthy of being cherished by you.”

“When you were born, I was already here; when you came for me, I was already old.” This sentiment was no longer an obstacle to their love. Despite the chasm of age and the lack of understanding from countless others, they ultimately felt that their lives were their own. If one day they truly grew old, with a full head of white hair, as long as their beloved was by their side, they would have no regrets.

Chen Yuan walked out of the corridor and onto the lawn. Under the gazes of countless guests, he didn’t look at anything in particular, feeling as if he were in a daze. His groomsmen, Wei Zhen and Liu Nan, guided him forward.

A bouquet was pressed into his hands.

Ceremonial cannons boomed in the sky.

The Rolls-Royce at the hotel entrance revved its engine.

Behind him, the uncles and aunts gathered on the lawn, watching the groom who was about to go pick up his brides, their eyes filled with all kinds of different emotions. Among them were Chen Yuan’s two fathers and one mother, their gazes full of gratification as they watched him go.
