My Reconstruction Talent is too OP!!!

Chapter 215: New System II

  • Next Chapter

After an unknown amount of time, the golden light surrounding Kaiser finally began to fade.

His body lay motionless on the ground as the countless runes covering his soul gradually disappeared. The intense pressure that had filled the sanctuary vanished, leaving behind an unusual silence.

A moment later, several notifications appeared before his eyes.

[Akashic System Initialized.]

[First Authority Acquired: God of Death.]

[The First Authority has been used to recreate the Class: Death Genesis.]

[Authority of the God of Death has been exhausted.]

[Second Authority Acquired: God of Space.]

[The Second Authority has been used to establish the connection between the Cosmic Realm and the new system.]

[Authority of the God of Space has been exhausted.]

Kaiser slowly opened his eyes.

His vision was still blurry, but he could make out the notifications floating before him.

’Akashic System?’

He stared at the name for a moment before slowly sitting up.

The unbearable pain that had tormented him was gone. Instead, he felt an unfamiliar sense of relief, as though a heavy burden had finally been lifted from his shoulders.

Kaiser took a deep breath and opened his system interface.

At first glance, it looked almost identical to the Cosmic System he had used for so long. The layout was familiar, and the information was displayed in the same manner.

However, there was one noticeable difference.

The interface was no longer blue.

Instead, it was golden white.

The familiar blue panels had been replaced by a golden-white interface, but everything else appeared to be the same.

Kaiser examined it carefully before opening his status window.

His class was still there.

His attributes remained unchanged, and his innate talents were untouched.

Even his connection to the Cosmic Realm had been preserved.

Aside from the interface’s new appearance, he couldn’t find any significant differences.

’Seriously? I went through all that pain just to get a different-looking system?’

Kaiser couldn’t help but feel speechless.

Of course, he knew the transformation had been far more complicated than a simple change in appearance. The woman had used the authorities of two Gods to recreate his class and establish the new system.

Still, he had expected something more noticeable.

He closed the status window and looked at his hands. There was no visible change in his body, either.

Yet, as he continued examining himself, he gradually noticed something unusual.

His soul felt lighter.

The sensation was difficult to describe, but the faint pressure he had grown accustomed to since acquiring the Cosmic System seemed to have disappeared.

For the first time in a long while, he felt completely free.

Kaiser clenched his fists and tried to understand the unfamiliar sensation.

’What is this feeling?’

He had never realized that something was weighing on his soul until that burden was finally removed.

The Cosmic System had provided him with countless benefits, allowing him to grow stronger and access powers that would otherwise have been difficult to obtain.

However, it seemed that the system had served another purpose as well.

One that had nothing to do with his growth.

Before Kaiser could think further, the woman’s voice echoed through the sanctuary.

[Thou hast finally awakened.]

Kaiser turned toward her.

"How long was I unconscious?"

[Long enough for the transformation to be completed. The process was more complicated than I initially anticipated, but everything has proceeded as intended.]

Kaiser nodded before glancing at the golden-white interface floating before him.

"So, this is the Akashic System?"

[Indeed. It is the system that shall accompany thee from this point onward.]

Kaiser examined the interface once more before asking, "Aside from its appearance, I can’t find much difference between this and the Cosmic System. Is there something I’m missing?"

The woman remained silent for a moment before answering.

[There are things thou art not yet capable of understanding. However, the most important difference is not something thou canst discover by examining the interface.]

Kaiser raised an eyebrow.

"Then what is it?"

The woman’s expression grew serious.

[The Cosmic System was not merely a tool designed to help its users grow stronger. It also served as a power source to seal, using a portion of each user’s soul to maintain the barrier separating this world from the Outer Gods.]

Kaiser’s expression changed.

"A power source?"

[Correct. The Cosmic System took a small portion of thy soul and used it to strengthen the seal. The same was true for countless other beings connected to it.]

Kaiser fell silent as he processed her explanation.

He had always thought the Cosmic System was a mysterious force that allowed people to awaken their abilities, grow stronger, and access the Cosmic Realm.

He had never imagined that it was also being used to maintain a seal against the Outer Gods.

"So, every user of the Cosmic System has unknowingly been helping to maintain that seal?"

[That is correct. It is one of the methods the Gods devised to ensure that the seal would remain intact for eternity.]

Kaiser frowned.

"But if the system takes a portion of everyone’s soul, wouldn’t that eventually affect their growth?"

[The portion taken from each individual is exceedingly small. Most would never notice its absence, and its effect on their growth is negligible. Besides, throughout the past billions of years, not a single being has reached the stage where the completeness of their soul would become necessary.]

The woman paused before continuing.

[But even gods knows there might a day come when such being will born.]

[That is why this sanctuary was created. Among the countless beings connected to the Cosmic System, there must eventually be one whose destiny extends beyond this world.]

Kaiser listened carefully.

[The Gods understood what they were doing when they created the Cosmic System. They also knew that one day, a being might emerge whose potential would exceed the limits of this world. Such a being could be hindered by the very system that had helped them grow, for the portion of their soul used to maintain the seal would prevent them from achieving their full potential.]

[Therefore, they created this sanctuary as well. If a being whose destiny lies beyond this world were ever to appear, this place would allow them to sever their connection to the Cosmic System without sacrificing the growth potential it provides.]

Kaiser gradually understood what she meant.

The Cosmic System had been designed to distribute the burden of maintaining the seal among countless users. Each individual contributed an almost insignificant portion of their soul, but together, those countless fragments helped keep the Outer Gods sealed away.

As long as humanity continued to exist, new people would be born and others would die. The system would continue collecting and distributing these tiny portions, ensuring that the seal remained intact.

’So that’s why she said the seal would last for eternity. As long as humanity doesn’t go extinct, the seal will continue to be maintained.’

Kaiser nodded slightly as the pieces fell into place.

However, another question soon came to mind.

"Then what happened to the portion of my soul that the Cosmic System took?"

[It has been returned to thee.]

Kaiser blinked.

"You returned it to me?"

[Indeed.]

He hesitated before asking his next question.

"Won’t that affect the seal?"

[Not at all. The portion of thy soul used by the Cosmic System is negligible compared to the total power sustaining the seal. Even if a million beings like thee were to sever their connection to the system, the seal would remain unaffected.]

The woman paused briefly before continuing.

[Every day, countless beings are born and countless others perish. The seal was designed to endure such changes. The return of thy soul fragment is insignificant in comparison and shall have no effect on its stability.]

Kaiser let out a slow breath.

"So, the new system won’t take anything from me?"

[Not in the manner the Cosmic System did. The Akashic System shall aid thee in thy growth without requiring thee to sacrifice a portion of thy soul to maintain the seal.]

Kaiser looked at the golden-white interface again.

Now he understood why he felt so different.

The transformation hadn’t simply replaced one system with another. It had also restored the portion of his soul that had been used to maintain the seal, allowing him to retain the benefits of a system without carrying that same burden.

He couldn’t help but feel satisfied with the result.

After all, if his destiny truly extended beyond this world, then even the smallest restriction could eventually become a problem.

And now, that restriction was gone.
