My Super Sassy Dad: Stop Running Away, Mrs. Quinn!
Chapter 1097 - 1100: Don’t Scream, It’s Me
Ethan Knight’s robe hung carelessly on him, revealing his shoulders like white jade and his long legs that were slender and pale.
Noticing Melody Thorne’s mesmerized gaze on him, Ethan bent one leg slightly, propped his head on one hand, and looked at Melody with sultry eyes, lazily asking, "Do you think I’m better or women are?"
Melody Thorne picked up a writing board: "I’m not gay, are you?"
Ethan Knight squinted his eyes, feeling a surge of anger.
Melody quickly wrote a line: "You’ve been getting angry too often lately. Aren’t you afraid of aging by ten years?"
Ethan’s fury gradually subsided, and he closed his eyes deeply. He must not get angry, absolutely cannot get angry. What do women even count for? With him around, all women would pale in comparison!
Melody, losing interest, put down the writing board. Judging by Ethan’s reaction, she knew he definitely wasn’t gay.
Ethan attempted to use his charm to seduce Melody but didn’t expect her to close her eyes, ready to sleep.
His temper rose swiftly from his feet to his head.
The night passed peacefully without incident.
In the morning, as Melody opened her eyes, Ethan was already gone from the large bed across from her. Her first instinct was to find the painting.
"Looking for me?" Ethan walked out of the bathroom.
Melody: "...No."
Encountering Ethan always infuriated him, and he strode over to see her wearing the suit she had slept in last night, immediately pulling back with disgust: "Go change your clothes."
Melody turned and left the room.
Behind her, the man, prettier than any woman, was instantly alight with anger again.
In the hall, Chloe Summers was already there, frantically winking at her, but she didn’t notice.
Melody had just left the hall and looped around the back garden, intending to go to Chloe Summers’s place to get a change of clothes when suddenly a pair of large hands covered her mouth and led her to a secluded spot.
"Mmm..."
"Don’t shout, it’s me," Jared Quinn brought her to a secluded spot, releasing his grip.
"How did you get in here? He’ll find out," Melody nervously glanced around.
Jared’s gaze remained fixed on her, his pitch-black eyes dark enough to kill. He pulled her into his arms: "Where did you sleep last night?"
Melody: "...On the floor, with just a blanket."
Her voice carrying a bit of grievance: "Once I get that painting, I’m definitely teaching Ethan Knight a lesson."
Last night, Jared had gotten in touch with Chloe Summers. Hearing that she went with Ethan, he was filled with murderous intent. Although he knew Ethan didn’t touch women, and Melody was now disguised as a man, his anger was still about to explode.
Melody caught a whiff of his cologne and immediately wrapped her arms around Jared’s neck: "Look, I haven’t changed my clothes in two days, and Ethan can’t wait to get far away from me. He just told me to scram. I’m going to Chloe’s place to change."
Jared glanced at her clothing, his explosive temper slowly easing, still holding her in his arms: "Come back with me. Don’t stay here anymore."
The thought of her sleeping on the floor at night, with Ethan the wolf watching her, made Jared unable to stay calm. He desperately wanted to take her away immediately.
We’ll find another way on the Thorne Family’s side.
