"ACHOO~"

In the castle, the long-haired man in sunglasses had just lit a cigarette when he suddenly sneezed.

"Hm? What’s going on?" The long-haired man rubbed his nose.

’Is someone talking about me?’ The long-haired man glanced around, his gaze turning toward the central depths.

’It seems Chen Yu must be thanking me in his heart.’ The long-haired man smiled with delight, took a deep drag from his cigarette, and blew out a smoke ring.

...

"Haha, look how scared you are. I was just joking." The woman suddenly laughed, breaking the heavy silence.

Beads of sweat formed on Chen Yu’s forehead. He forced a smile, but a thousand curses were running through his mind.

’Messing with people is fun, huh?’

’Yeah, it really is pretty fun.’

’But he didn’t want to be the one getting messed with. He didn’t like being on the receiving end. He was the prankster, not the pranked!’

"You’re joking, My Lady. I knew that," Chen Yu said, forcing a smile.

The woman glanced at him, then said, "Keep this entrance ticket for the Starry Sky Divine Hall. After you go to the Stellar Battlefield, someone will come looking for you."

"Someone from the Starry Sky Divine Hall?" Chen Yu asked.

The woman nodded. "Mhm."

Then, she added, "But don’t get too happy just yet. Right now, you’ve only gotten the entrance ticket. It just means you’re qualified, not that you’re already a member of the Starry Sky Divine Hall."

Chen Yu nodded. "I understand."

"You understand my ass. Keep listening," the woman said.

Chen Yu was speechless.

"The entrance ticket is for an assessment, and the assessment takes place on the Stellar Battlefield. There will be some danger. It’s even possible you might die."

Chen Yu: "?"

’An assessment? This deadly?’

Chen Yu looked at the golden ticket in his hand. Suddenly, it didn’t seem so great anymore.

’This wasn’t an entrance ticket. It was a goddamn life-or-death warrant.’

"Um... can I not take it?" Chen Yu asked in a small voice.

’Was he afraid of death?’

’Yes!’

’Although he often risked his life hunting alien beasts, it was always for the Source of Life and to increase his strength.’

’With his current power, why did he need to take such a risk?’

’He didn’t think being afraid of death was anything to be ashamed of.’

’Who wasn’t afraid of death?’

’It’s easy to be fearless when there isn’t a knife to your throat. You only feel the fear when it’s pressed against your neck.’

’He was no virtuous, holier-than-thou saint.’

"I didn’t hear you clearly. Could you say that again?" the woman asked, looking at Chen Yu. Her tone was flat.

But the moment she spoke, an incredibly terrifying pressure enveloped the room.

In an instant, Chen Yu felt like a small sailboat on a boundless ocean, in constant danger of being swallowed by the waves.

The terror of a True God... even just the tip of the iceberg was far beyond imagination.

The power to destroy a world—it was absurdly strong!

A single wisp of her aura was enough for him to experience firsthand what it meant for Divine Power to be like an inescapable prison!

"...Um, what I meant was, what’s on the assessment?"

Chen Yu swallowed hard and forced himself to speak calmly.

The moment the words left his mouth, the terrifying pressure from the woman vanished without a trace, replaced by a smile as warm as a spring breeze.

"I thought you were about to refuse. I must have been hearing things," the woman said with a beaming smile.

Chen Yu was speechless.

’What was that supposed to be?’

’A threat!’

’But there was nothing he could do about it!’

’Might makes right. If your fists weren’t strong enough, you had to bow your head.’

’This was what they called "a wise man submits to the circumstances"!’

"I can’t tell you the content of the assessment. I can only say it has something to do with the Alien Race. Anything more would be a violation of the rules," the woman said, looking at him.

"Something to do with the Alien Race..."

Chen Yu mulled over her words.

’In other words, I can get my hands on the Source of Life during this assessment. Hmm, in that case, no problem.’

"Thank you, My Lady." Chen Yu came back to his senses, stood up, and bowed slightly.

"So how are you going to thank me?" the woman asked, looking at him with great interest.

Chen Yu was speechless.

’How the hell am I supposed to know? I was just being polite!’

"Do you know how to give a massage?" the woman asked.

Chen Yu: "?"

The woman lay down on the large, soft bed and closed her eyes. "Give me a massage. That’ll be your thanks. Use some force. I can take it."

Chen Yu: "???"

’Is... is this appropriate?’

’Won’t this get the Chapter censored?’

’What kind of plot development is this...?’

Chen Yu subconsciously glanced at the various props nearby.

"What are you standing there gaping for? Do you feel wronged or something?" the woman said, opening her eyes again with a hint of impatience.

Chen Yu was speechless.

"Then... My Lady, are you sure I should?" Chen Yu stepped forward and asked cautiously.

"Just do it. You’re a grown man, stop dawdling," the woman said with her eyes still closed.

Chen Yu took a deep breath and reached out with both hands.

...

An hour passed quickly.

Inside the room, Chen Yu was drenched in sweat.

"Mmm, that was very comfortable. Your technique is quite good. I’ll call you again if I get the chance," the woman said, opening her eyes with a look of pure bliss.

Chen Yu: "?"

’I’m not a masseur! If you want a massage, go find a professional!’

’Me, a man of standing, an elite of the academy, giving massages to...’

"A reward for you." The woman tossed him a pearl. Chen Yu caught it, his pupils contracting sharply.

A Divine Spirit Pearl!

"Thank you, My Lady! You can call me again next time. I’m at your beck and call," Chen Yu said, happily accepting the Divine Spirit Pearl.

"You’ll have the chance," the woman said lightly.

"My Lady, is there anything else? If not, I’ll be leaving now," Chen Yu said.

The woman nodded. "Mhm, you can go. I’ll find you next time I need something."

"Alright." Chen Yu nodded, gave a slight bow, and turned to leave.

Watching Chen Yu’s departing figure, a smile bloomed on the woman’s beautiful face.

...

"PHEW—!"

Stepping out of the room, Chen Yu let out a long sigh of relief.

In a word.

So damn tiring!

It wasn’t just physical exhaustion, but mental exhaustion as well.

The personality of a True God was truly erratic and unpredictable, with no rhyme or reason.

The whole meeting had felt like being roasted over a fire.
