My Three Babies Have Different Fathers
Chapter 106: This is an absolute order
"How much are you asking for?" Ghani Wen asked without blinking.
"How about one billion dollars? I believe that amount would be enough to keep the Melvin Continent running for ten years without the taxes they contribute." Tino smiled faintly. "Or perhaps you would be interested in cooperating with the new territory I now lead? I could consider it. I heard you need a trade route to transport goods from the Melvin Continent to the Maxy Continent. The Kino Continent is willing to provide one. In fact, I could grant you a one-year tax exemption. What do you think? Is that offer worth considering?"
Ghani stared at Tino for a few moments.
"Tino Nair, do you truly understand what you’re saying?"
Tino smiled faintly. The wrinkles on his face became even more pronounced as he replied, "I only have one granddaughter, Layla Nair. She is my sole successor. This is a debt I owe her, and I am willing to do whatever she wants, including taking the man she likes away from another woman."
Dion Sexa chuckled.
"Is your granddaughter so shameless that she has to compete with a poor girl for a man? Even after that man rejected her and humiliated her in front of so many people?" He looked at Tino mockingly. "Isn’t your son still alive? I heard he even has two sons with his mistresses. Don’t you intend to make one of them your successor?"
Tino glared at Dion.
"Dion Sexa, how dare you speak to me like that! You’re even younger than my son, yet you have absolutely no manners."
Dion nodded casually. "You’re right. However, I have no reason to respect an old man like you who dares to lay a hand on my woman."
Orland took a document from his lawyer. After giving it a brief glance, he pushed the file in front of Ghani, paying no attention to the argument between Dion and Tino.
"This is a list of the cooperation agreements between the Melvin Continent and the Hesh family that I will terminate if you accept Tino Nair’s offer." He looked at Ghani. "Don’t think you can survive for long by relying solely on goods from the Nair family, which no longer even has roots in the Melvin Continent, Head of the Supervisory Council."
Hans, who was sitting beside him, also spoke up.
"Forget about the cooperation agreements, taxes, and trade routes you’ve been using in the southern territory. The shares in my company that you currently hold may also become worthless." He stared intently at Ghani. "And don’t forget the secret agreement we made seven years ago. If you dare lay a hand on my wife, I’ll dismantle all your plans in a matter of seconds."
"Tch!"
Ghani leaned back in his chair, lit a cigarette, and took a slow drag. His gaze shifted from Orland to Hans.
"Are you threatening me? Have you forgotten whose territory you’re standing in?"
Dion finally turned toward him.
"Ten years ago, Tino Nair could be forced to step down from his position. Do you think we can’t make the same thing happen to you?"
"Hahaha!"
Ghani’s sarcastic laughter filled the room. He then turned to his subordinate.
"Today’s trial is over. Have all the lawyers leave the room. The trial will resume in one month, after Hana Klein has finished her period of learning about her past."
His subordinate nodded and immediately instructed all the lawyers representing the ruling families to leave.
Ghani stood up without another word. However, before climbing the stairs toward the exit, he glanced back at Orland, Dion, and Hans.
"I will make my decision within one month."
After Ghani left the room, his subordinate distributed a letter to everyone who was still seated.
"Mr. Tino Nair, by order of the Head of the Supervisory Council, you are prohibited from residing in the Melvin Continent. You must leave this continent before nightfall."
Without waiting for Tino’s response, he turned to Dion, Hans, and Orland.
"As for Miss Hana Klein’s accommodation, Mr. Ghani has approved the arrangement. Miss Hana will stay at Mr. Orland Hesh’s residence, which is the closest to the Supervisory Council building. You may stay there with Miss Hana and her three children. However, Supervisory Council officers must be granted access to every part of the residence."
Orland snorted. "Fine. No problem. I’ll allow your people to inspect every corner of the Hesh family residence."
Ghani’s subordinate nodded in relief before turning to Maya Vein.
"As for you, Madam Maya, Mr. Ghani has ordered the Vein family to reopen the stock market and release five percent of the family’s shares to civilians. Considering your actions against one of the civilians, that is the compensation you must pay to the Supervisory Council for now."
Maya looked at him disdainfully.
"Are you sure you want the Vein family to distribute another five percent of our shares to civilians? Tell your master this is an abuse of authority. I, Maya Vein, will not accept such a decision! The Klein family was just an ordinary civilian family. Does he think their destruction gives him the right to force me to release five percent of our shares?"
Ghani’s subordinate smiled faintly.
"Madam, our master is not asking for your opinion. This is an absolute order Head of the Supervisory Council."
He then handed Maya a piece of paper.
"Furthermore, Mr. Dion Sexa is responsible for the collapse of the Vein family’s stock price during yesterday’s launch. Mr. Ghani has determined that you must receive full compensation for the losses you suffered."
Without giving Maya a chance to respond, he turned to Dion.
"The Vein family’s losses amount to eight hundred thousand dollars. Mr. Dion, you must pay the full amount today. Once the payment has been made, the Head of the Supervisory Council will determine what happens next."
Dion looked at Ghani’s subordinate, then glanced at Maya before giving a mocking smile.
"You want me to pay for losses this large? Are you sure?"
