My Three Babies Have Different Fathers
Chapter 52: We found nothing
Brandon’s hand, which was reaching for the glass beside him, suddenly froze for a few moments. He even put it back down before he could take a sip.
"Finish your meal. I have an urgent matter to attend to. I’ll be back as soon as I’m done."
Brandon immediately stood up and hurried away without even glancing at Hana.
Hana stared at his back for a while. Her brows furrowed as she tried to recall the two years after she had broken up with Brandon. However, not a single memory came to mind. All that remained was the pain in her head, just as she always experienced whenever she tried to remember that period.
Without finishing her lunch, Hana returned to the room where she had been lying earlier.
Meanwhile, in Karua City, Orland’s phone rang. He immediately answered it.
"Sir..." His secretary’s voice came from the other end. "We have sent many people to monitor the airports in Melvin City, but none of the planes detected were carrying Miss Hana."
Orland’s brows furrowed sharply. His grip on the phone tightened unconsciously.
"What did you say?" he asked in a low, threatening voice.
Dion and Hans, who were having breakfast with their three children, immediately stopped what they were doing.
"Sir... we haven’t been able to detect Miss Hana at all. There are no flights from Karua City carrying Miss Hana to Melvin City. We found nothing."
Orland slowly massaged his temples. "What about planes coming from other cities?"
"Sir, we just checked them. The results are still the same. Not a single plane carrying Miss Hana has arrived in Melvin City."
The secretary fell silent for a few moments before continuing. "But... there were two private planes that came from Karua City and landed in Melvin City this morning."
"Then?"
"But, Sir, we have absolutely no authority to inspect those planes. Both landed in the eastern region of Melvin Continent. Under the diplomatic agreement we have maintained all this time, we cannot investigate any further."
"Send people to the eastern region. Find out where Hana is there. I’ll return as soon as I’m done with my business in Karua City."
"Yes, Sir."
Kevin glanced at Orland irritably. "See? You still can’t even anticipate something like this. Are you really the heir of the Hesh Family, the family famous for its intelligence?"
Hans, who was sitting beside him, sneered and was about to add something. However, before he could open his mouth, Zahn spoke first.
"You’d better send people to help him find Mother. Don’t make me regret saving you twice."
Hans looked at his son with a wounded expression.
Did I conceive him in a fit of passion back then? How could he have absolutely none of my personality or Hana’s? Why are his emotions more like those two lunatics around him? Did their genes contaminate his emotional makeup?
Hans finally got up from his seat when his phone vibrated. He immediately answered the call.
"Boss," Greo’s voice came through once the call connected.
"There’s a problem. We’ve been looking for the people who attacked Madam Jexy, Jesy, and Jezy last night after we successfully reclaimed our businesses in Karua City."
"Then?" Hans asked.
"Boss, they admitted that someone had paid them. But..."
"But what?" Hans immediately asked in a forceful tone.
"The people working for the Mayor of Karua City have turned against us. They took those people away after we captured them and tried to get information from them last night."
A cold smile appeared on Hans’s face. "A mayor dares to do this to me? I see. I’ll head there immediately. Fifteen minutes."
"I’m coming with you," Kevin exclaimed. "With that brain of yours, you definitely won’t be able to find any mistakes in what they’ve done."
Hans’s brows furrowed. He was about to respond, but Orland spoke first.
"Stay here. Do you know how dangerous that place is? It’s not a playground for you. They’re using weapons to attack one another. Your brain won’t be of much use there."
"I won’t get out of the car until those people are caught. I only need to ask them a few more questions about this. They were bold enough to hurt our grandmothers. If I don’t retaliate personally, then I’m not myself."
"I’m coming too," Sean and Kevin said at the same time.
"No," replied Dion Sexa, who had remained silent until then.
He turned his attention to Zahn. "Zahn, stay here with Orland Hesh. Your grandmothers’ conditions are still unstable, and those people haven’t been found at all. They might target your three grandmothers again."
Zahn was about to argue, but after considering it, he finally nodded.
"And you, Sean, come with your father to Melvin City now."
Everyone there immediately furrowed their brows at Dion’s decision.
"Wait," Orland Hesh exclaimed. "You want to search for Hana in person while bringing Sean along so that Hana will acknowledge your existence through him?"
Dion had not yet answered when Hans interrupted.
"Dion, do you think you’ll succeed in getting Hana just by bringing one of your children? Let me tell you, Hana has three children. She certainly won’t marry only you. She’ll marry me and Orland too. So stop trying to curry favor."
Sean looked up at Dion. "Did something happen in Melvin Continent?" he asked.
Dion smiled at the question from his only son. He pushed his tablet toward the middle of the table.
"Read this."
Sean got down from his chair, picked up the tablet, and began reading the information displayed on the screen. Orland Hesh, Hans Xin, Zahn, and Kevin also moved closer to see the contents of the report.
"My people sent me this information. The heir to the eastern region’s territory has had a slight disagreement with his soon-to-be wife because of Hana."
Dion gave Sean time to read before continuing.
"With your genius business mind, you should be able to throw their businesses into chaos just as you did mine."
"There’s a major event tomorrow morning," Dion added. "The heir and his fiancée will appear in the outskirts of Melvin City’s capital. We have to go there right away."
"You want me to destroy their businesses there? In person?" Sean raised his head. "Why? I can destroy them from here."
Dion shook his head. "The eastern region of Melvin Continent has always been closed off, even more so than Hans’s territory has been over the past five years. They have someone secretly protecting that region from other continents."
