My Three Babies Have Different Fathers

Chapter 8: C-can I buy this used food cart?

Hana thought quickly, trying to find a solution that would allow her to take her three children home. However, several minutes passed, and she still could not come up with a solution.

Her brain, which was accustomed to thinking about nothing but Brandon’s handsome face, was apparently incapable of considering anything else.

In the end, Hana decided to leave the room to look for a solution. Her eyes quickly landed on a worn-out object lying in the corner of the hospital.

She bit her lip before walking toward it. Her hands felt over the object, making sure that it was safe, sturdy, and still capable of carrying a load.

"Ma’am, what are you doing?" asked a cleaner who happened to pass by and noticed Hana’s suspicious behavior.

"A-ah..." Hana stammered. She truly had no idea what to do. Embarrassment washed over her, and she wanted to hide her face behind her own clothes.

"Ma’am?" the hospital worker asked again, having received no answer from Hana.

"C-can I buy this used food cart?" Hana finally asked.

The hospital worker tilted his head and looked at Hana strangely.

"I-it’s just... I need it. I just gave birth, but I don’t have any money to take my three babies home. Can I buy it and use it to transport my children?" Hana asked carefully, her face already turning bright red from embarrassment.

The worker blinked twice before looking at Hana’s pitiful appearance: thin sandals that had been tied back together because the straps had broken, along with loose-fitting clothes whose threads were coming loose and nearly unraveling at every edge.

Despite Hana’s beautiful face, she really did look miserable.

"Don’t you have any family coming to pick you up?"

Hana shook her head. "No one. I’m an orphan, and my husband... he... isn’t here," Hana answered as she lowered her head.

This was exactly why she had once been reluctant to have intimate relations with Brandon or even kiss him. She had always been terrified of getting pregnant and then being abandoned without any responsibility being taken. Yet now, that very fear had become reality.

"Ma’am, which room are you staying in? Have you already paid the administrative fees before leaving?"

Hana clenched her hands tightly.

Huhu... look at me now. I’m even being accused of not paying my hospital bill. Am I really being seen as someone who would stoop this low? Hana thought bitterly.

"Ma’am?"

"Mm... yes, I have," Hana finally replied.

The hospital worker nodded. "You can go back to your room for now. I’ll report this to the management first. Even though it’s an item we no longer use, it’s still considered hospital property."

"If they approve it, I’ll bring it directly to your hospital room," he added.

Hana looked up at the worker for a moment before nodding.

"Thank you. I’m staying in the general ward at the end of the corridor near the administrative service area."

"All right. I’ll take care of it first."

After the worker left, Hana returned to her hospital room and looked at her three children, who were still sleeping soundly.

Huhu... look at your mother, my children. I’m truly pathetic. How could I not even have enough money to take you home? Hana sighed in frustration.

Hana sat back down on her bed and stared at the identification card in her hand.

Karua Residence Number 78...

Hana tried to dig through the original owner’s memories, but after several moments, not a single memory surfaced.

Seeing that her room door was still closed, Hana eventually walked out of her hospital room again. She wanted to find out where the address was actually located.

But who would have thought that the worker who had told her to wait in her room was now already standing outside her door?

"Sir... what was the result? Am I allowed to take it home?" Hana immediately asked when she saw him.

The worker smiled and nodded. "I’ve reported it to the hospital management. They’ve approved it, but you still have to pay for it. After all, this item still has some value. Do you agree?"

Hana swallowed for a moment before turning to look at her three babies and asking again.

"How much do I have to pay? Is it expensive?"

The worker shook his head. "It’s not expensive. You only need to pay thirty dollars, Ma’am. We’re selling it at the price of a used item. Are you still interested?"

"Mm, all right. That’s fine," Hana replied.

She would only have 170 dollars left if she paid for the item, but she had no other choice. She had to buy it.

"All right, wait a moment. I’ll bring it here. I already cleaned it earlier."

"Mm," Hana replied.

Less than five minutes later, the man returned, pushing the used food cart that Hana had noticed earlier.

The cart was not too tall, and its edges were high enough to provide some safety. At the very least, Hana would only need to keep a closer eye on her children while they were lying inside it.

Hana nodded in relief and paid for the cart with the money she had.

"Sir... wait a moment," Hana called before the man could walk away.

"Is there something else?" he asked.

"Do you know where this address is?" Hana asked as she handed him her identification card.

The worker looked at Hana before comparing the face on the identification card with Hana’s face.

"It seems the nurse was right after all," he murmured.

"What’s wrong?" Hana asked.

The man waved his hand. "It’s nothing. By the way, do you need me to order you an online taxi? It’s not too far from here, but considering that you’ve just given birth and have three babies with you, going there on your own would only cause unnecessary difficulty."

"Wouldn’t that trouble you?" Hana asked.

"It’s no trouble," he replied.

The man took out his phone from his pocket and began ordering a taxi to take Hana to the address listed on her identification card.

"Thank you," Hana said.

"Mm, you can wait outside. I’ve already ordered it. It should arrive soon," the man said as he showed Hana the screen of his phone.

Hana stared at the phone in the man’s hand. Its model was not much different from the phone she had used in her original world.

It was almost exactly the same.

After a moment, Hana nodded.

"Thank you," she said once again.

The man waved his hand before returning to finish his work.

Hana raised her head and stared at the hospital ceiling.

How could this be? Even the communication devices here are similar, almost no different from the one I used in my old world.

Could it be that this world... is actually the same as the one I lived in before?
