My Tribrid System: More than a Monster
Chapter 520: Flurry Furry (1)
Chapter 518
Silk.
Steel bullet-like strands hurtled toward the Ogre King, forcing the beast into a rare moment of panic.
He was about to release Nebula’s bladed hands and leap backward when the Echo’s second pair of arms shot forward, wrapping around his body and pinning him firmly in place, leaving him unable to move even an inch.
"Get off me, beast."
The Ogre’s massive leg hurtled toward Nebula’s exposed torso and crashed into her with tremendous force.
BANG!
Even her grip faltered from the impact.
The hold around the King loosened ever so slightly.
The instant he felt that opening, the beast violently twisted his hips and spun, using his overwhelming strength to fling the Spider Queen away.
Her body shot through the air before crashing into a distant wall with a thunderous impact.
At the same time, the King immediately ducked low.
The silk projectile tore over his head and slammed into the ground behind him.
BOOM!
"Oh?! A king bowing down to me? I’m definitely honoured."
Ray’s voice echoed from above.
The Tribrid descended through the smoke with two attacks already prepared.
One—
A sword-like beam.
The other—
A lightning spear.
The King’s eyes widened for a brief moment.
There wasn’t enough time to evade.
Instead, he crossed both arms before his face, trusting the heavy metal plates covering his forearms to withstand the assault.
KA-BANG!
The attacks slammed into his guard with explosive force.
The impact ripped a small crater into the ground beneath him as a violent cloud of dust exploded outward, swallowing the battlefield.
ROARRR!
The King violently threw his arms apart.
A fierce gust blasted the dust away.
His forearms were exposed.
The thick metal plates protecting them had been shattered into countless pieces that now littered the ground beside him.
Thin streams of black blood trickled down both forearms.
Just as he began pushing himself back to his feet—
"FUCKING GET BACK DOWN!"
Ray descended like a meteor.
Both of his arms were now covered in thick fur, muscles bulging grotesquely beneath the coarse hair as violent arcs of lightning raced across them.
BAM! BOOOOM!
His fist smashed directly into the King’s face.
The Emperor’s head was driven violently back into the earth, carving out a crater nearly five metres wide.
Fresh fissures raced across the chamber floor.
The shockwave burst outward, snuffing out the nearby flames as roaring wind swept across the battlefield.
A streak of black blood rolled from the King’s lips.
His crimson eyes burned brighter.
Then—
Something whistled through the air.
Ray’s head snapped sideways.
Too late.
BAM!
The Warhammer slammed into him like a speeding train.
His head jerked violently from the impact as his entire body blasted backward and crashed into a wall.
The chamber trembled.
With a heavy grunt, the Ogre King forced himself upright.
Before he could fully recover—
Nebula was already there.
Her bladed hands blurred through the air in a relentless barrage of slashes.
Now stripped of the armour protecting his torso and forearms, the King abandoned the idea of blocking altogether.
Instead, he sprang backward just in time, each blade slicing harmlessly through the empty space he had occupied moments earlier.
Nebula never slowed.
She continued pressing forward before exploding toward him once again.
But this time...
The King was waiting.
His leg cracked through the air.
The heavy iron greave covering it smashed into Nebula’s abdomen.
BANG!
A loud crack echoed through the chamber.
The ground beneath them imploded.
Nebula froze where she stood.
Then her body blasted backward and crashed into another wall.
She wasn’t even given a second to regain herself.
One moment she was embedded within the stone.
The next—
The Ogre King was already standing before her.
Without hesitation, he unleashed a relentless flurry of punches.
BANG!
BANG!
BANG!
Each crushing blow drove Nebula deeper into the wall.
Thunderous impacts echoed throughout the chamber as chunks of stone rained to the floor.
She couldn’t block.
She couldn’t dodge.
The barrage never gave her the chance.
Grabbing her by the throat, the King slammed her even harder into the wall.
Finally—
The battered structure gave way.
The entire wall collapsed like a stack of cards beneath the force.
Still gripping her neck, the King prepared to hurl her into another wall.
But before he could—
Nebula seized both of his arms.
The King’s movement halted instantly.
Her bladed hands shot forward.
SHLIK!
They plunged deep into both sides of his torso.
The King’s face twisted in genuine agony.
The blades burrowed even deeper as Nebula twisted them inside his flesh.
Black blood poured down his body like a stream.
Then the Spider Queen strained.
With a violent pull, she leaned backward with every ounce of strength she possessed.
The King was lifted several inches off the ground.
In the very next instant, Nebula snapped upright.
The bladed hands ripped free from his body.
The force launched the Ogre King across the chamber, his enormous body blasting into the distance.
KA-BOOOM!
Something streaked past Nebula in a blur of lightning before appearing before the King, who was still suspended in the air.
His eyes crackled with electricity, and he looked completely different from a moment ago.
A deep growl escaped Ray’s throat as something primal awakened within him.
His muscles tightened beneath his skin, becoming leaner yet noticeably denser as he gripped the hair on his forearms, the strands burning through his palms.
Brown fur streaked with silver spread from the backs of his hands to just below his elbows, stopping there as if an invisible line had been drawn.
His fingers lengthened slightly before ending in curved obsidian claws capable of tearing through steel.
Veins pulsed faintly beneath his forearms, carrying an immense strength that made every movement feel explosive.
His canines sharpened into predatory fangs.
The grey in his eyes bled away, replaced by a piercing yellow, while his pupils narrowed into the vertical slits of a hunting wolf.
His ears became unnaturally sensitive, twitching ever so slightly as they picked up distant sounds.
Every scent around him flooded his senses at once.
When he exhaled, a faint white mist escaped his lips.
He hadn’t become a werewolf.
He merely looked like a human who had borrowed the wrath of one.
[Partial Werewolf Transformation Completed.]
And all around his transformed arms, lightning crawled like a snake, coiling around his knuckles.
