Chapter 576

In an estate—an estate that felt like a world of its own, with countless guards, buildings, and structures—stood a glamorous mansion deep within its grounds.

The mansion seemed to dwarf every other building surrounding it, its imposing structure making everything else in the vicinity appear insignificant.

Dozens of guards dressed in green attire patrolled the mansion. Guards could be seen everywhere, both inside and outside the building, ensuring that no corner was left unattended.

Even the estate itself had hundreds of guards walking around its grounds.

However, it wasn’t just guards who lived there. The estate was also home to ordinary people—or rather, people of affluence who could afford to live in such a place.

Deep inside the glamorous mansion, a man and a woman sat in a room, watching the livestream of the Attack on the Aberrants.

Even with Johnny having split the screen to show different parts of the battlefield, their eyes never left Ray for a second.

They remained fixed intently on the Tribrid, who was actively destroying Aberrants as though it were child’s play.

A dozen guards stood outside the door while the man and woman sat on a couch facing a thirty-inch-wide television mounted on the wall opposite them.

A few bottles sat on the centre table, and glass cups rested in their hands as they observed the ongoing battle.

Minutes turned into hours. With every passing moment, more Aberrants fell, yet there was barely a scratch on Ray.

The more the man watched Ray tear through his opponents with such overwhelming ease, the harder his teeth ground together.

Anger flooded his veins.

Soon, he gripped his glass cup so tightly that the pressure from his fingers began to crack the glass.

A vein throbbed at the side of his head.

The woman seated beside him occasionally sipped her drink, her gaze flicking between the television and the man beside her.

Every time Ray took down another Aberrant, she let out a sigh.

Her heart raced as she witnessed the sheer strength and power the Tribrid displayed.

He had barely transformed any part of his body throughout the fight, yet he had been almost toying with the Three-Spined Aberrant.

A fucking Three-Spined Aberrant—a small-city-level threat—and Ray had been toying with it.

He had grown.

They could see it as clearly as day, but that wasn’t what worried them the most.

"Sigh... Are we even safe, Bryce? We had promised to eliminate him, but how are we supposed to do that against such a person?" the woman asked, taking another sip from her cup.

Bryce didn’t rush to reply. Instead, the words Ray had spoken to him that day in the trial room began repeating themselves in his mind, over and over again.

{"... I will give you a headstart. Run back to your estate and hire thousands of guards in wait. Because as soon as I’m done with my mission, I will come for your head. Good luck."}

The man’s jaws tightened as he watched Ray completely wreck the Three-Spined Aberrant, causing its body to explode in a rain of blood and gore.

Crack!

Shatter!

The glass cup groaned under the pressure of his grip before finally erupting into shards. The fragments pierced his palm, drawing trickles of blood.

Elysa flinched at the sight of the glass shards embedded in his hand.

Upon hearing the glass shatter, two guards stationed outside rushed into the room with such speed that, within moments, they were standing before the man.

Their eyes swept across the room, quickly taking in the situation. One of them then darted towards a drawer, pulled it open, and retrieved a medical kit.

Returning to Bryce, the guard immediately began tending to his wound.

Yet the man barely acknowledged their presence. His attention remained fixed on Ray, who stood covered in blood, bathed in sunlight.

His teeth grated against each other like steel against stone.

The sheer anger coursing through his veins was enough to consume anyone whole.

Seeing that the guards were taking care of Bryce’s injury, Elysa relaxed back into her seat. She poured herself another drink and took a huge swig.

"You know? Seeing what I just saw, I now wonder if your guards are even enough to stop him. He was just an Aspirant without as much strength as he has now when he totally wrecked how many...?" Elysa tapped her chin once before snapping her fingers loudly.

".... Twelve of your guards, who were all Grade 5 Meta-humans. What will happen now that he has shown a level beyond Grade 8?"

Hearing the question, Bryce snapped his head towards Elysa, shooting her a murderous glare that forced the words she had been about to say back down her throat.

"Enough!" the man shouted as he kicked the guard tending to his wound, sending him tumbling onto his backside with a flustered look on his face.

Bryce jumped to his feet, his arms trembling from pure rage.

Seeing Ray still on the television, he didn’t even realise when he grabbed a bottle from the table and hurled it forward with all his strength.

The projectile slammed into the screen. Liquid splashed across its surface, and the bottle shattered on impact. The screen shattered along with it.

The television swayed dangerously, almost falling from where it was mounted on the wall.

It didn’t turn off, though. Instead, cracks spread across the screen, leaving it beyond repair, while patches of rainbow-coloured distortion appeared in several places.

The guards immediately stepped aside, bowing their heads as they wondered what could have suddenly enraged their leader to such an extent.

Turning towards one of the guards, Bryce barked an order.

"Call me Alpha!"

The guard didn’t waste a second. He bolted out of the room at superspeed, disappearing from sight.

Within seconds, he returned with another guard, one dressed in attire that differed from that of the ordinary guards stationed throughout the estate.

Bryce didn’t even spare the newcomer a glance before roaring at him.

"Commence our plan. I want it done the moment the Big Four have made their move to assist Wall Rose. Not a second after should you delay!"

The guard nodded before vanishing from the room, leaving Elysa sitting there with one eyebrow raised in confusion.

"After so many months, why now?"

Bryce snorted before dropping back onto the couch, though not before waving the remaining guards away.

"Because I don’t want him coming here now. I waited for the right opportunity, but it seems the right time won’t come easily, so I have to force it. Do you think humanity will take it lightly if a ’Saviour’ is killed?"

Elysa took another drink from her cup, then let out a sigh before turning her gaze towards the cracked television.

"Honestly, I think it’s high time you contacted your younger brother. He might be able to help. I don’t want to die. I haven’t achieved everything I want to achieve, and it’s terribly obvious that we’re going to die.

"Your hundreds of guards are nothing before that monster."

Bryce clenched his hands before throwing his head to the side in irritation.

"I will never ask for help from that snotty brat. I can handle my mess by myself, and I doubt that Dawson will ever be able to get to me. Just you wait and watch!"
