Chapter 583

— Hey, did you see that? A bright light just appeared in the air!

— Yeah, I saw it. Do you think it’s the Aberrants?

— I doubt it, considering there’s no Mothership in the sky at the moment. But sure, we can’t rule out that possibility. We don’t know everything about them, after all.

— Should we go and check?

— Considering the people in this Wall, we have Captain Raze and his squad. You’ve seen how monstrous they are, and for goodness’ sake, we even have a werewolf! What could possibly go wrong?

Some of the men nodded in agreement, but even so, a few couldn’t help feeling uneasy.

However, the more they thought about it, the less concerned they became. Unless the force was powerful enough, there was no way the Aberrants would send down an entire army.

This Wall was heavily fortified, with men from the Big Four present. And then there was Raze’s squad.

The Aberrants would have to be foolish to launch an attack at this moment, especially after their recent defeat.

With those thoughts in mind, they calmed down and returned to their work.

Whatever that light had been, the Spine Reaper would surely handle it himself.

Unknown to the humans, the squad was no longer in Wall Rose.

Heck, they weren’t even in the mortal realm anymore.

...

In an unknown location, somewhere no human could possibly reach, a gigantic, brilliant light tore through space.

From within it, seven figures could be seen stumbling forward, while the eighth barely flinched from where he stood.

As they staggered forward, the moment they regained their footing, Van spun around. He barely took in his surroundings before preparing to fire a beam at the Messenger.

Only for the mechanical whirring to abruptly die down, as though it had never existed in the first place.

The boy’s glowing eyes dimmed almost instantly, leaving him confused.

Raze and the others were also about to activate their abilities, only for them to fail to respond.

They stared at their hands in disbelief, utterly confused by what was happening.

They could feel it.... They still had Meta-Force remaining, plenty of it, and they weren’t exhausted.

Yet their abilities remained unresponsive, as though they had never possessed them to begin with.

Ray was hit the hardest, feeling as though a sledgehammer had slammed into his soul.

His System flashed bright red, almost as if it were bleeding.

[WARNING! WARNING! WARNING!]

[Host has found himself in a different realm with a certain condition placed upon it. As a result, Host can no longer access his Werewolf bloodline.

All skills, transformations, and techniques belonging to the Werewolf bloodline are now inaccessible.]

’Wha—?!’

Before he could even finish his thought, a panicked shout from Elyon drew his attention inward.

"What happened now?"

"Br-Br-Bruce, I can’t find him anymore!" Elyon screamed, causing Ray to jump to his feet.

A panicked expression flashed across his face.

His head twisted from side to side, his eyes searching deep within his mindspace. His Perception flooded the entire area, yet he couldn’t detect even the slightest trace of the Werewolf.

"Ba.... thump...."

His heart nearly leapt into his mouth.

For the first time since awakening and evolving to his current level, Ray was genuinely terrified.

Something or someone capable of doing this to him possessed enough power to cripple him for life.

Dread filled his heart as his thoughts began to spiral, his head spinning as though the situation itself were making him dizzy.

"Oh, I forgot to inform you all. As long as you’re in here, your abilities won’t work. Only Celestial powers can be used in this realm.

"So, welcome to the Celestial Realm, you mortals! A realm created by one of the First Ones. A realm where no other species is accepted, and even if they somehow manage to enter, they’ll end up just like you all."

The words hit them like a truck, leaving everyone’s throats dry.

A realm created by the so-called First Ones?

And one with a condition that prevented every race except the Celestials from using their abilities?

If they weren’t experiencing the effects of that condition right now, they would have laughed in Edd’s face.

Their hearts pounded in horror as they slowly turned their heads, taking in the full scope of their surroundings.

"FUCK!" Chloe screamed, startled, as she desperately clutched the person closest to her.

Which happened to be Felix.

A look of sheer horror settled over her face as she glanced beneath their feet.

They were standing on a cloud as though it were the most normal thing in the world.

Below them lay a dizzying drop, with a beautiful mansion visible far beneath them.

Slowly turning around, everyone began surveying their new surroundings.

The Celestial Realm.

A place that existed beyond the boundaries of the human worlds, separated from them by far more than mere distance. It wasn’t another planet, nor was it a world that could be reached simply by travelling through space. It was an entirely higher realm, a domain where Celestial beings had existed for countless ages.

Everything about this realm felt unnatural.

There was no ordinary sun hanging in the sky.

Instead, the realm generated its own light, bathing the entire landscape in a constant golden-white radiance that seemed to emanate from everywhere at once.

Enormous clouds of golden-white energy stretched across the heavens, layered one above another and extending farther than the eye could comprehend.

Some floated beneath others, while distant layers gradually disappeared into the horizon. Streams of brilliant light occasionally swept across the sky like vast rivers flowing through the heavens, illuminating the surrounding clouds as they passed.

Beyond them, distant celestial bodies could be seen moving through the strange heavens, scattered across the vast expanse like countless stars that had never known darkness.

Floating islands and enormous landmasses drifted peacefully through the sky, some carrying entire structures upon their surfaces. Bridges stretched between them without any visible support, suspended impossibly high above the realm below.

And every so often, something enormous moved within the clouds.

Only its silhouette was visible, a colossal shape passing slowly through the golden mist before disappearing once again into the heavens.

The land itself was equally unnatural.

Massive structures rose from the ground, constructed from a material resembling white stone that glowed faintly from within. Towering buildings stretched towards the heavens, their surfaces smooth and impossibly pristine, while strange architectural formations extended in directions that seemed to defy the laws of the physical world.

Some staircases stretched endlessly upward, disappearing into the clouds without leading to any visible destination. Others floated in midair, connecting distant structures without walls, pillars, or any form of support.

There were buildings with no visible entrances, structures that appeared to have been carved from single, enormous pieces of celestial stone, and towering monuments whose purpose couldn’t be understood simply by looking at them.

Everything possessed a sense of impossible age.

The Celestial Realm gave the impression that its civilization hadn’t merely existed for centuries, but had been constructing, expanding, and reshaping its domain for thousands upon thousands of years.

It was beautiful.

It was majestic.

And yet, beneath that beauty lay something deeply alien.

This was the Celestial Realm, and the squad had found themselves trapped within it, with no apparent way to escape.
