Ray stared at the numbers for a few seconds.
’System, when’s my next cap?’
[I have no idea.]
Ray thought for a moment before studying his attributes more closely.
’Now, which should I increase? I’ve been putting off using my free stat points until I actually need them, but it wouldn’t be wise to dump them all during a battle.
I need to keep them balanced and think about my next progression instead of choosing randomly, so let’s see....’
He rubbed his chin, his eyes moving over the attributes again and again.
’... My current strength and agility should be enough to tackle any Celestial at the moment. And coupled with the fact that my Lightning also makes me faster... why is my ability even working? What could be the reason?’
«You are losing the plot here.»
’Ah, right.’ He blinked, bringing his attention back to the matter at hand.
’If I somehow manage to escape this Realm, I’ll want to go to the Werewolf World for Felix. Since Edd said the Celestials and Werewolves have a good relationship for some reason...
’Why would they even have a good relationship? Based on the novels I’ve read, Celestials usually see any species that isn’t their own as beneath them. So why would they want to associate with a species that literally transforms into a beast?’
His brows furrowed in confusion as he stroked his chin, inwardly cursing the fact that he didn’t have a beard to rub.
’... Did something force them to band together? Did something happen that made them form an alliance? But what?’
As he pondered the question, a memory surfaced from a few months ago. A fragmented vision?
No, a memory Elyon had seen.
A force so powerful that its presence could be felt from world to world, from realm to realm.
Different races standing together against the same threat.
’Could that have been a vision? Or was it a memory of the past? Just what exactly happened in the universe?’
«That shouldn’t be your immediate concern. Focus on the plot.»
’Yeah, yeah.’
Ray looked up at the screen.
’Okay, first off, raise my Strength and Agility to 150.’
[Done.]
[STR: 136 >>> 150]
[AGI: 136 >>> 150]
[Stat points: 32]
Ray didn’t have time to take in the surge of power coursing through him, nor did he care to. His eyes darted towards the next attribute.
’Increase...’
Soon, Ray had exhausted all his stat points, a satisfied smile settling on his face.
’Status tab.’

Ray let out a tired breath as he went over his status screen a few more times before nodding and dismissing it.
’Not bad...’
’... Still far from my next evolution, but for now, it’s satisfying.’
And then, he remembered something important.
’Ri-Right... I have the opportunity to level up one of my bloodline skills, don’t I?’
He had almost forgotten about that privilege.
The moment he had received the opportunity, he had already had a particular skill in mind, one he had wanted to upgrade for the longest time. However, so many things had happened that he hadn’t remembered it in time.
Now, now was the perfect time to make use of it.
But at the last moment, just as he was about to bring up the skill, he changed his mind.
Catching himself just in time, Ray almost slapped himself in disappointment.
’How could I almost forget? Stop neglecting your Celestial side. I keep forgetting that I’m a Tribrid, and I need to.... Sigh....’
With that thought in mind, he glanced through his Celestial skills. Navigating them was much easier now that all his Werewolf skills were greyed out.
After deliberating for a few moments over which skill to choose, he finally settled on one.
[Name: Arc of Judgement]
[Description: Arc of Judgement creates a holy, sword-like beam of light capable of cutting through enemies and foes who aren’t overwhelmingly stronger than the Host.]
[Cost: 30 Energy points per beam.]
[Does Host wish to take ’Arc of Judgement’ to the next level of power?]
[Yes/No?]
"Yes."
[Very well. Skill ’Arc of Judgement’ has been leveled up.]
Clicking on the skill, Ray brought up its updated information.
[Name: Arc of Judgement]
[Description: Arc of Judgement creates a holy, sword-like beam of light capable of cutting through enemies and foes who are not only below, but also one step above the user in terms of strength.]
[Cost: 60 Energy points per beam.]
A grin spread across Ray’s face.
Just before he could even celebrate his upgrade, however, his vision suddenly swam.
It felt as though the room around him had twisted and surged like a restless wave.
He became disoriented and barely had time to react before he suddenly found himself standing before his friends, all of whom wore visible expressions of panic.
They, too, had felt the space shaking and its structure changing.
Ray opened his mouth to say something when the wall in front of them suddenly warped and shifted, rippling as though a solid object had been thrown into a body of water.
Soon, a figure walked through the wall as though it were the most ordinary thing in the world.
Edd!
Standing before them was the Celestial Messenger in all his glory, his expression neutral as his eyes briefly flicked between Ray’s friends before settling firmly on Ray.
"I’m here to retrieve you, Tribrid. It’s time for your trial. The First Ones await."
