My Virtu-Real Harem System

Chapter 34: The Doppelgänger Protocol

  • Next Chapter

The high-frequency hum of Leo’s newly upgraded plasma blade crackled violently against the cool, air-conditioned draft of the second-floor laboratory, its deep violet energy trail cutting a sharp line through the green ambient glare. He stood perfectly locked in his combat stance, his large hand gripping the hilt with absolute, rigid focus. But as the dark silhouette stepped fully out from the heavy shadows of the incubation platforms, Leo’s dark grey eyes widened, his upgraded intelligence core violently stalling its tactical threat calculations in a state of profound, unyielding shock.

She wasn't a monster. She wasn't a mutated, flesh-tearing beast like the Chimera, nor was she a hulking, industrial alien apex predator like the Yautja hunter he had just dismantled on the lower floor.

Standing beneath the eerie emerald lights of the vertical glass pods was an exceptionally beautiful, young woman. Her long, luxurious midnight-blue hair cascaded past her narrow slender waist in silky, ink-like layers, perfectly contrasting with the pristine, tight form-fitting cyberpunk tactical costume that seamlessly wrapped around her voluptuous hourglass silhouette. Every single curve of her full chest and figure was traced by glowing purple neon accent lines. Yet, despite her delicate, model-tier human facial features, her posture was entirely vacant, cold, and robotic. Her large eyes flared with a deep, pulsing neon violet glow.

The woman slowly raised her twin-bladed high-tech plasma glaive, the weapon buzzing with a lethal purple current that mirrored the mindless energy pulsing behind her eyelids. She didn't offer a warning, nor did she make a sound. Moving with an explosive, high-mobility grace that completely defied normal physics, she lunged straight into his personal space.

SHIIIING!

The plasma glaive cut through the air in a blinding, horizontal whirlwind sweep. Leo’s physical reflexes screamed, forcing his athletic frame to violently drop flat beneath the arc of the energy blade. The raw thermal heat of the passing glaive singed the loose strands of his chocolate-brown hair, the sheer, crushing pressure nearly breaking his balance as he rolled heavily across the polished dark floorboards to create distance.

She was terrifyingly fast. Before Leo could even plant his heavy combat boots to initiate a counter-strike, The woman spun on her heel, her tight bodysuit blurring as she launched a relentless flurry of vertical slashes. The laboratory air hissed violently as her glaive chipped away at the metal structure. Leo was forced into a desperate, frantic retreat, his boots sliding back past the rows of empty glass incubation tubes as he barely parried her strikes, the heavy clanging of their colliding plasma weapons sending a violent shower of blue and purple sparks bouncing off the walls.

Realizing he couldn't keep up with her insane agility, Leo aggressively sprinted backward, using the heavy glass incubator pillars as physical obstacles to buy himself critical seconds of tracking time.

"System!" Leo barked internally, his chest heaving rapidly as his stamina metrics began to drain under the absolute weight of her pressure. "Run an immediate tactical analysis on this target! Her speed variables are completely breaking my reaction loops!"

Ding!

[TARGET SECTOR SCANNING: SYSTEM MATRIX OVERLOAD]

[DATA CORRUPT: LOCAL INTERFACE REQUIRING TEMPORARY CALIBRATION]

[ANALYSIS METRIC: IN PROGRESS... PLEASE MAINTAIN COMPLIANCE STATUS]

"A temporary calibration?" Leo hissed through gritted teeth inside his mind, ducking frantically beneath another lethal thrust that shattered a glass pod right next to his shoulder. "Keep me waiting any longer and you're going to make me a literal sacrifice to this simulation loop, you useless system!"

She didn't give him another inch to breathe. Halting her physical pursuit for a split second, she planting her boots firmly into the tile floor and slowly raised her left hand, pointing her open palm directly toward Leo's chest. Instantly, the purple neon accent lines on her suit violently flared, channeling a high-voltage concentration of raw energy into her fingertips.

BOOM!

A blinding, high-density plasma laser blast violently erupted from her palm. Leo’s instincts violently detonated; he threw his entire frame sideways in a desperate, high-speed dive, crashing hard against the solid metal floorboards. As he spun his head back around, his jaw went completely slack. The solid concrete accent wall where he had been standing a fraction of a second ago hadn't just been cracked, it had completely vanished, cleanly melted into a smoking, hollow void by the sheer power of her blast.

Ding!

[TACTICAL ALIGNMENT CALIBRATION: SUCCESSFUL]

[TARGET PROFILE RESOLVED: LIVING OUTER-DOMAIN ALIEN ENTITY]

[ORIGIN SPECIFICATION: COMPLIANT SUPER-HUMAN SECTOR ORIGIN]

"An alien super-human?" Leo muttered rapidly, scrambling back to his feet as Lunaria began to adjust her hand stance for a second blast. "System, cut the lore lecture! Is there any viable counter-measure routing to win this match?"

Ding!

[ENGAGEMENT CRITERIA OVERWRITE: ACTIVE]

[TACTICAL MANDATE: DO NOT ELIMINATE TARGET CODE. RENDER TARGET UNCONSCIOUS]

"Make her sleep?" Leo questioned sharply, his voice dropping into a harsh, stressed whisper as he sprinted behind a thick server rack to avoid her tracking telemetry. "How am I supposed to smoothly knock out an outer-domain warrior who can delete solid concrete walls with her hand?"

Ding!

[TACTICAL UNDER-LOOP EXTRACTED: PHYSICAL OVERWRITE SCENARIO]

[EXECUTION METRIC: CONCEAL TARGET'S VISION FOR EXACTLY 4.5 SECONDS]

[RESULT: TOTAL OPTIC BLOCK WILL FORCE INTERACTION SYSTEM CRASH AND COGNITIVE SHUTDOWN]

"How do you even possess that specific biological vulnerability data?" Leo demanded firmly, his dark eyes locking onto the pulsing golden text.

The system didn't answer. The interface screen cleanly dissolved into a cloud of silent pixels as the heavy server rack shielding him was violently sliced in half by a sweeping strike of the woman's glaive. The metal halves crashed down with a deafening thud, and the beautiful, mind-controlled sci-fi goddess leaped straight through the smoke, her glowing violet eyes locking dead onto his position.

This was his only opening. Instead of parrying her weapon, Leo let his sword slide back into his system inventory grid to maximize his agility. Utilizing every single ounce of his upgraded physical strength and explosive speed, he sprinted straight toward her oncoming assault, waiting until the absolute last millisecond before sliding low across the floor beneath her outstretched glaive.

Before she could adjust her posture, Leo vaulted off the floorboards, surging up directly behind her back. Moving with dominant, unyielding physical power, he wrapped his powerful arms tightly around her slender shoulders from behind, using his large masculine hands to firmly clap across her eyes, completely blocking out her vision.

"Got you," Leo growled low against her ear.

She instantly erupted into a frantic, violent struggle. She dropped her plasma glaive, her soft fingers clawing aggressively at Leo's hands and her wide hourglass hips writhing with immense physical power as she tried to tear his grip away. But Leo gritted his teeth, his broad shoulders locking into place as he used his superior stamina to hold her completely anchored against his broad chest.

"One... two... three..." Leo counted down grimly inside his mind, his hands remaining tightly sealed over her face.

Exactly four seconds later, the frantic, violent thrashing in his arms suddenly ceased. The pulsing purple neon accent lines on her tight cyberpunk suit rapidly flickered out into complete darkness, and the rigid, super-human tension inside her voluptuous body completely dissolved. Her head fell back against his shoulder, her long midnight-blue hair cascading softly over his arms as her system experienced a total cognitive shutdown.

Leo slowly let out a long, grounded breath, his muscles relaxing as he carefully caught her falling frame. Moving with deliberate care, he lifted her voluptuous body into a smooth bridal carry, walking across the ruined laboratory floor to place her gently beside a secure, unbattered concrete corner partition. He looked down at her soft, sleeping human facial features, a mountain of deep, unyielding questions swirling through his intellect. Who is she? Why is she locked inside this facility? And why did the system know exactly how to crash her consciousness?

But the ticking digital clock in the corner of his vision reminded him that his countdown was still running. He shook his head, forcing the confusion out of his mind as his dark eyes locked onto the central elevator gates at the end of the hall. He sprinted forward, bounding through the threshold and riding the lift at an ultra-swift, disciplined speed straight up into the final parameters of the third floor.

The elevator doors parted with a sharp mechanical click.

Leo stepped out into a massive, pristine white laboratory observatory. The room was illuminated by cold, clinical fluorescent arrays, but what anchored his focus was a solitary silhouette standing at the far end of the platform, looking out a large glass window pane into the pitch-black mountain night. The person was facing completely opposite of Leo, their dark clothes masking any immediate physical markers.

"I've cleared every single floor tier," Leo commanded firmly, his deep masculine voice snapping through the absolute silence of the room as his frustration finally boiled over. "What the hell is happening in this facility, and who are you?"

The mysterious person slowly let out a quiet, deeply familiar laugh that sent an immediate, icy shockwave straight down Leo's spine.

Moving with an elegant, slow precision, the individual slowly spun around on the spot, stepping out from the window shadow to look directly into Leo's eyes.

Leo’s breath caught violently in his throat, his entire athletic frame freezing into absolute stone. Standing directly in front of him, possessing the exact same height, the exact same exceptionally broad muscular shoulders, the exact same sharp model-tier jawline, and the exact same textured, messy chocolate-brown hair, was a mirror image of himself.

The identical twin smirked effortlessly, his dark obsidian-grey eyes locking into Leo's terrified gaze. "I am you."

The glowing purple matrix energy hummed violently behind the clone's eyes.
