My Wife Might Be a Saintess
Chapter 602 - 601: Dimwit
Chapter 602: Chapter 601: Dimwit
「The story returns to last night.」
The Celestial Star Descent had left Qing Yue with a grim expression.
This Celestial Star Descent was clearly aimed at the Saintess Pool. It couldn’t be such a coincidence, could it?
First the Celestial Tribulation struck, and now a Celestial Star Descent.
She refused to believe there wasn’t something wrong here.
So, what exactly was the problem?
The only thing she could think of was Jiu Xi.
The Misfortune Coin, and especially its misfortune, had directly damaged the Saintess Pool. (The entire lotus platform had crumbled.)
What was she to do?
Keeping her here was dangerous, but sending Jiu Xi away would put her life in peril. She would never do that.
So, was finding Jiu Xi’s husband the only option?
She knew that Jiu Xi’s husband could neutralize the misfortune; Yue Xi had told her as much.
Afterward, Qing Yue had planned to ask Jian Shisan, but he had unfortunately gone to deal with the Celestial Star Meteorite.
So, she had no choice but to call the Tofu Boss.
The Tofu Boss was well-acquainted with Jian Shisan. Moreover, those two Saintesses often ordered takeout, so there was a good chance he might know Jiu Xi’s husband’s phone number.
If he didn’t know, she would have no choice but to find Jian Shisan.
After explaining her purpose, she received an unexpected answer.
"You’re saying Jiu Xi’s husband is already at the Holy Land? Where is he?
Alright, I understand. I’ll bring Jiu Xi over right away."
After hanging up, Qing Yue went into the Saintess Pool to find Jiu Xi. Qing Yue thought that Jiu Xi would surely be overjoyed.
However, Su Qi just froze, then said nervously, "Ah, I’m doomed! Martial Aunt, let’s go to my place first. Hurry!"
"But the misfortune affecting you," Qing Yue said with a frown.
"It’s fine, it’s fine! It’s just a small problem," Su Qi said.
Qing Yue felt helpless in the face of this petulant Jiu Xi, but in the end, she agreed to her request and took her back to her own residence first.
What followed was Su Qi waiting at home alone for Jiang Zuo to arrive.
Knowing Jiang Zuo as she did, she was sure he would come.
She even deliberately posted two notes. (She fell several times in the process.)
She did it on purpose, certain that Jiang Zuo would tear them down.
So, she sat in her room all night, just waiting for Jiang Zuo.
Sure enough, early the next morning, Su Qi heard the sound of the main door being pushed open. The first note had met a heroic end.
A smile on her face, Su Qi watched her bedroom door, waiting for him to push it open. It was impossible that he wouldn’t—unless it wasn’t her husband.
And just as she expected, Su Qi didn’t have to wait long before the bedroom door was pushed open.
The push was strong and forceful, as if to display the opener’s domineering presence.
Then, without any surprise, Su Qi saw the expressionless Jiang Zuo.
She raised her hand and gave a little wave. It was a greeting, and she was smiling as she did it.
It was as if she were saying, ’You’re here. I’ve been waiting for you for so long.’
But Jiang Zuo remained expressionless and simply closed the door from the outside.
He was pretending not to have seen her.
Su Qi huffed and walked over to the window.
Just as Jiang Zuo reached the front door, Su Qi opened the window and feigned surprise. "Well, if it isn’t Mr. Jiang Zuo!
What brings you here?"
Su Qi was ignored once again.
This made Su Qi feel both smug and angry.
Jiang Zuo wanted to escape now, but would Su Qi allow it?
She immediately summoned a gust of wind that blew Jiang Zuo back, then grabbed him and dragged him into the room. (Sweet Potato and Duan Qiao had already fallen into the courtyard.)
Finally, she shut the window.
Sigh.
Jiang Zuo couldn’t help but sigh internally.
Another sleepless night.
Er, no, that’s wrong. It should be another day of plowing the fields.
Jiang Zuo just hoped this day would pass quickly.

「Later that afternoon.」
"I knew you’d come to see my notes. You know you were wrong now, don’t you?" Su Qi said, peeking her head out from under the covers as she looked at Jiang Zuo.
Jiang Zuo stared at the ceiling, having no desire to answer whatsoever.
Forget her being huddled under the covers; even if she were standing right in front of him, he wouldn’t feel the slightest impulse.
After a long silence, Jiang Zuo finally spoke. "Why are there so many cuts on your face? And why are you black and blue all over?"
’Best not to discuss the topic of the notes anymore,’ he thought.
At that, Su Qi pulled the covers over her face. "It’s all the same with your eyes closed. Why be so picky?"
Jiang Zuo was speechless.
’Was that really what I was being picky about?’
’And what does she mean, "it’s all the same with your eyes closed"?’
Finally, Su Qi added, "The cuts on my face are from falling, and the bruises on my body are from bumping into things."
As she spoke, Su Qi snuggled into Jiang Zuo’s arms, but she stayed under the covers, not wanting him to see.
Jiang Zuo asked, "Isn’t it tiring to talk like that?"
At this, Su Qi poked her head out again. Resting it on Jiang Zuo’s arm, she looked at the ceiling and said, "Do you think this house is sturdy?"
Jiang Zuo replied casually, "What, are you planning to hang yourself?"
Su Qi nodded seriously. "Uh-huh. You forced your way in, after all. I have to make you regret it."
Jiang Zuo also looked at the ceiling. "It should be pretty sturdy. But I heard that when you hang yourself, your tongue lolls out, and it looks especially ugly."
Su Qi said, "Then I’ll just keep my mouth shut."
Jiang Zuo added, "I also heard your neck gets stretched, and it doesn’t shrink back."
Su Qi: "Then I’ll just stand on a chair so my neck doesn’t get stretched."
"Then what’s the point of hanging yourself?" Jiang Zuo said, rolling his eyes.
But Su Qi retorted, "Are you really planning to just let me hang myself?"
Jiang Zuo was speechless.
’It’s best not to argue about things like this.’
Su Qi didn’t argue with him either. ’The day is long,’ she thought. ’There will come a time when he’ll be the one crying.’
After that, Su Qi put on a nightgown and prepared to get out of bed. "I want to see if I’m better now."
Wearing the nightgown, Su Qi hopped onto the floor and took a couple of steps.
Yep, no problem.
Then she ran a couple of laps.
Yep, completely fine.
Jiang Zuo looked at Su Qi’s exposed skin and the injuries on it. "Are all of these from falling because of the misfortune?"
Jiang Zuo didn’t really mind her falling, but he minded very much that she was covered in injuries from it.
Su Qi smiled. "It’s fine. After a night’s sleep, it doesn’t hurt at all. That’s why I can’t leave your side. If I do, I’ll be done for.
Are you happy about that?"
Jiang Zuo paused for a moment, then sat up and said softly, "Come here. I’ll tie up your hair for you."
"No," Su Qi refused without hesitation. "We can sleep for another night. We can talk about it tomorrow morning. You need to recognize your mistake."
"Actually, I’d really like to." Then Jiang Zuo sniffed the air with feigned regret. "Take a whiff. I think I smell blood."
Su Qi was speechless.
————
"What’s this?" Standing in the snow, Su Qi held up the Stone of Seven Emotions and Six Desires that Jiang Zuo had crafted, examining it against the sky for a moment before asking.
They had left the house, planning to find something to eat.
The Stone of Seven Emotions and Six Desires was shaped like a teardrop and was a pale blue color.
Jiang Zuo had also attached a thin cord to it, which he had woven from Su Qi’s hair using a special method.
It was anything but fragile.
And it suited Su Qi perfectly.
He had found the hair at home. Su Qi used to be a young girl with long hair, the kind that reached her waist.
After she cut it, he had kept it all this time.
"It’s a necklace, I guess," Jiang Zuo said.
"Should I wear it?" Su Qi asked Jiang Zuo.
Jiang Zuo nodded.
"Do I have to wear it all the time, like the Hairband?" Su Qi asked again.
Jiang Zuo shook his head. "No, but don’t just toss it around. Don’t treat it like a collector’s item, either. If it breaks, just throw it away. It’s just an ordinary gift, anyway."
Su Qi handed the Stone of Seven Emotions and Six Desires to Jiang Zuo, then took off the Life-Protecting Treasure from around her neck and put it on her wrist as a bracelet.
"Alright, put it on for me. You can’t give me a necklace and expect me to put it on myself."
Jiang Zuo said nothing and helped Su Qi put it on.
But when he was halfway there, he realized it wouldn’t quite go over her head.
Su Qi complained, "You don’t even know the size of your own wife’s head? How did you even pick this?
And why didn’t you get one with a clasp?
Whoever designed this kind of necklace must be an idiot."
Jiang Zuo’s face darkened. "Shut up."
