My Wife Might Be a Saintess
Chapter 601 - 600: To Mr. Jiang Zuo
Chapter 601: Chapter 600: To Mr. Jiang Zuo
On the way to the Holy Land, Duan Qiao jumped onto Xiaoye’s head, carrying Sweet Potato with him.
Xiaoye jumped, startled. She thought something had fallen onto her head.
Jiang Zuo said, "Just some pets. Nothing to worry about."
’A pet...’
Duan Qiao was heartbroken. ’I am Duan Qiao! In my complete form, I am the Bridge of Ten Thousand Realms. By any measure, shouldn’t I be considered a Divine Artifact or something of the sort?’
’Calling me a pet is just too much.’
However, it only dared to grumble inwardly. There was no way it would actually say anything out loud.
After hearing what Jiang Zuo said, Xiaoye boldly reached for the top of her head.
She then grabbed Sweet Potato and brought it down. Duan Qiao didn’t want to be caught, so naturally, Xiaoye couldn’t grab it.
"What a cute duck! And it’s red," Ye Zi exclaimed in delight upon seeing Sweet Potato.
Sweet Potato was undeniably cute. Plenty of people wanted to keep it as a pet.
Of course, once they found out it was a Holy Beast Descendant, they probably wouldn’t have such ideas.
The fact that a Vermilion Bird Descendant was a duck could easily offend the Four Holy Beasts.
And it wasn’t just Sweet Potato; its owner could easily suffer the consequences as well.
Jiang Zuo, however, had never given such things a second thought.
Xiaoye said to Sweet Potato, "What’s your name?"
Sweet Potato: "QUACK."
Xiaoye: "Quack?"
Sweet Potato nodded. "QUACK QUACK."
Xiaoye laughed. "QUACK QUACK QUACK!"
Jiang Zuo: "..."
’Are those two actually communicating?’
"Its name is Sweet Potato, not ’Quack’," said Duan Qiao, who was still sitting on Xiaoye’s head.
Xiaoye looked up but didn’t see anyone.
"Don’t just look up randomly. I’m on your head, so you can’t see me," Duan Qiao said.
Xiaoye let out an "oh," then said to Sweet Potato, "So your name is Sweet Potato, huh?"
Sweet Potato: "QUACK."
Xiaoye said with a smile, "QUACK."
Sweet Potato: "QUACK QUACK."
Xiaoye: "QUACK QUACK QUACK."
Duan Qiao: "..."
Jiang Zuo: "..."
He didn’t understand it, but he didn’t bother with them either. They could do whatever they wanted.
Soon, Jiang Zuo and Xiaoye arrived at the Holy Land. When Jiang Zuo looked over at Xiaoye, he noticed she was shivering.
Jiang Zuo: "..."
’Kids really are a hassle.’
Xiaoye was only wearing a light jacket, likely because she didn’t want to wear anything too thick for her Cultivation.
Jiang Zuo never paid attention to whether it was cold or not, much less whether the people around him were cold.
So he had always assumed Xiaoye wasn’t cold.
Jiang Zuo then snapped his fingers. A Fire Elemental Minion appeared and began circling Xiaoye.
Burning with enthusiasm, the Fire Elemental Minion drove the cold away.
Xiaoye warmed up instantly. She smiled and said, "Thank you, Mister."
Jiang Zuo didn’t respond and continued walking forward on his own.
Xiaoye didn’t dare to hesitate and quickly followed.
She held Sweet Potato in her hands the entire time.
Soon, Jiang Zuo met the person who came to pick up Xiaoye.
She was a Little Fairy who looked to be in her teens.
She came over and looked at Jiang Zuo with curiosity. "I’m Xiaoye’s Senior Sister," she said. "And you are, Senior...?"
She had no idea who Jiang Zuo was, but figured it wouldn’t hurt to address him as "Senior," even if she were mistaken.
"Just someone who brought her here on my way," Jiang Zuo said, his expression blank.
After that, Jiang Zuo dismissed the Fire Element.
The Little Fairy immediately took Xiaoye’s hand and exclaimed in surprise, "You’re freezing!"
The Little Fairy seemed a bit angry but didn’t dare to blame Jiang Zuo. She just said to Xiaoye, "Senior Sister will warm you up."
As she spoke, she held Xiaoye’s hand and began channeling Spiritual Qi into her body.
This would drive the cold from Xiaoye’s body.
Xiaoye smiled and said, "Senior Sister, I’m fine. I’m not cold."
Xiaoye’s Senior Sister just hummed in acknowledgement, not listening to her at all.
Meanwhile, Jiang Zuo had already started walking toward Su Qi’s house.
Their paths diverged from here.
Seeing Jiang Zuo leave, Xiaoye waved and said, "Goodbye, Mister."
Jiang Zuo didn’t respond at all and just kept walking forward.
Duan Qiao then jumped onto Sweet Potato, and an instant later, they both vanished. This startled Xiaoye and her Senior Sister.
Then Xiaoye spotted Sweet Potato and Duan Qiao on Jiang Zuo’s shoulder and called out, "Goodbye, Sweet Potato! Goodbye, little missy!"
Sweet Potato responded, "QUACK."
Seeing Jiang Zuo leave, Xiaoye’s Senior Sister said to Xiaoye, "Next time, don’t leave home so early. Wait for Senior Sister to come pick you up, okay?"
Xiaoye smiled and hummed in agreement.

As Jiang Zuo walked, his mind wasn’t occupied with what had just happened.
Right now, he was more concerned about how Su Qi would react after she found out he had read the notebook.
Of course, no matter what, Jiang Zuo would still read it.
Because the notebook was really interesting.
Soon, Jiang Zuo arrived at Su Qi’s residence.
To Jiang Zuo’s slight surprise, there seemed to be a piece of paper on the main door.
When he reached the main door, he saw it. There was indeed a piece of paper on the door. It read:
To Mr. Jiang Zuo:
Darling, you can’t come in here for now. Please turn around immediately after seeing this note. If you have no place to stay, you can ask Master for help.
Otherwise, you’ll have to face the consequences.
Su Qi is very angry, and the consequences are very serious!
Signed: Your dear wife, Su Qi.
Jiang Zuo stared at the note, his face expressionless. He tore it up without a second thought, and a Fire Elemental Minion immediately surrounded the scraps.
’Burn it! Burn the evidence for Master!’
’Hmm.’ Jiang Zuo nodded. ’I didn’t see any note when I got here.’
’I had no idea I wasn’t supposed to enter.’
Then, Jiang Zuo pushed the door open and went inside. The first things he saw were the photos—many recent pictures of the two of them.
Apparently, Su Qi had a habit of taking pictures, then getting them developed and displaying them here.
Some were hand-drawn by her; her artistic skill was quite impressive.
Jiang Zuo had known about this for a long time.
Without wasting any time, Jiang Zuo headed for the bedroom. The door was closed this time, and on it was another piece of paper.
This is what it said:
Mr. Jiang Zuo, I just knew you’d ignore the first note.
I definitely can’t stop you from going in—after all, I’m just a piece of paper. But you’d better remember this: if you still dare to enter, I’ll drop dead right in front of you.
I’ll let you experience the pain of being about to lose your wife.
And I’m telling you, don’t you dare tear this up! Don’t do it! If you tear it, I won’t be so nice anymore.
I’m serious.
You’ll regret this. You’ll really regret this.
RIP~
Jiang Zuo tore the note to pieces. ’It even admitted it was just a piece of paper, and it still dared to threaten me?’
’Is it daydreaming?’
’Su Qi must not be fully awake yet.’
After that, Jiang Zuo pushed the door and entered.
’Su Qi has probably gotten used to threatening me. She must think I’m a pushover, that she can just fob me off with a piece of paper.’
’I never pay attention to such empty threats. Besides, after being threatened by Su Qi for so long, anyone would start to resist.’
’Who do you think I am? I’m Jiang Zuo.’
’I was never a good person to begin with. A note like this only makes me want to ignore it more.’
Jiang Zuo glanced inside the room, then said calmly, "The wind is a bit strong. The door wasn’t closed properly."
As he spoke, he reached out and gently pulled the door shut. After closing it, Jiang Zuo picked up the torn pieces of the note and stuck them back on the door.
After finishing all this, Jiang Zuo turned and left.
This time, Jiang Zuo didn’t close the main door behind him. His pace was much quicker now.
His eyes were ice-cold, as if he were facing a tremendous crisis. But he remained calm, rapidly thinking of how to deal with it.
But just as he stepped out of the doorway, the window of the next room slid open. A cheerful voice drifted out, "Well, well, isn’t it Mr. Jiang Zuo?"
"What brings you here?"
Jiang Zuo didn’t turn around. Instead, he muttered to himself, "I must be missing Su Qi too much lately. I’m starting to hear things."
He even shook his head and sighed as he spoke, his pace quickening even more.
