My Wife Might Be a Saintess
Chapter 650: The Magic of Heartache for Su Qi
Chapter 650 -649: The Magic of Heartache for Su Qi
Jiang Zuo was rendered speechless by Su Qi’s brazenness.
But he didn’t think much of it. That was just how Su Qi was, after all. What could he do?
Bets like this usually weren’t serious, but Jiang Zuo still held on to a sliver of hope.
Su Qi looked at the wings on Jiang Zuo’s back and asked curiously, “How are you flying with these?”
Jiang Zuo said, “The Wind Element. It naturally grants the ability to fly.”
“Huh?” Su Qi was stunned. “Don’t you have the Fire, Water, and Thunder Elements?”
Jiang Zuo nodded. “I do. I just happened to pick up another element in the last two days.”
Su Qi: “…, ‘Happened to’?”
Jiang Zuo nodded without a word. ‘To him, it really was that simple.’
Su Qi said, “I think Sister Jingyue would go crazy if she found out.
How about we go mess with her tomorrow? My husband learned to fly in just two months. She’d definitely be jealous.”
Jiang Zuo said impassively, “Aren’t you afraid Sister Jingyue will hit you with another ‘Does kissing make babies?'”
Su Qi fell silent.
‘Alright, maybe I’ll hold off on teasing my sister for now.’
‘But a Four-Element Mage… Isn’t my husband just incredible?’
‘Who just adds new elements whenever they feel like it?’
At that moment, Jiang Zuo suddenly stopped flying.
Su Qi asked curiously, “What’s wrong?”
Jiang Zuo said, “I just remembered something. I don’t have much of the Wind Element, so I can’t fly for long.”
Su Qi asked, “And?”
Jiang Zuo said with a deadpan expression, “It’s already… used up.”
The wings on Jiang Zuo’s back vanished, and the two of them plummeted from the sky.
“AHHHHHHH!”
It was like extreme bungee jumping.
SPLASH. SPLASH.
In the Holy Beast Lake, Xuanwu jumped in surprise. ‘What just fell in?’
When it surfaced, it discovered that it was Su Qi and her partner.
Su Qi pulled Jiang Zuo to the surface, and they quickly swam out of the Holy Beast Lake.
The moment they were out, Su Qi said sternly, “No more flying.”
Jiang Zuo replied, “Oh.”
‘It was just a small miscalculation. Why is she being so serious?’
Su Qi looked at Jiang Zuo, annoyed, and said, “Let me warm you up. Your clothes are all wet.”
As she spoke, she was about to dry Jiang Zuo’s clothes and warm his body.
Jiang Zuo looked at Su Qi, then touched her clothes with a single finger. In an instant, her outfit was completely dry, without a single drop of moisture.
This time, Jiang Zuo used a technique Su Qi couldn’t comprehend; it wasn’t Magic.
Su Qi was genuinely surprised. “What kind of Magic was that?”
Jiang Zuo smiled. “The ‘I-care-about-Su-Qi’ kind of Magic.”
Su Qi pouted at Jiang Zuo, then slowly leaned in. The two were just about to kiss.
“What are you two doing?” A sudden voice startled Su Qi.
Su Qi immediately spun around. Seeing it was Xuanwu, she feigned nonchalance, stood aside, and said, “Elder Xuanwu, what brings you here?”
Xuanwu was perplexed. “This is my home. Why shouldn’t I be here?”
Su Qi glanced around and realized they were indeed at the Holy Beast Lake.
“Sorry to disturb you, Elder Xuanwu. We’ll be leaving now.”
With that, Su Qi grabbed Jiang Zuo and took off running.
Xuanwu was bewildered, but it didn’t dwell on it. It had to keep working hard; it felt like it was on the verge of a breakthrough.
It had wanted to ask Jiang Zuo what he had said last time—it had forgotten, which was why it had been stuck for so long.
But since they seemed busy, it let the matter drop.
—
On the sea outside the Holy Land, a figure emerged, carrying a video recording.
It was a video recorded with a Magical Treasure—an extremely precious, single-use one at that.
The man was middle-aged. As soon as he appeared, he addressed Jian Shisan, “I have a video of the battle inside. It’s no ordinary recording.”
As he spoke, he took out a bead. It was the Myriad Phenomena Bead.
This bead could record a scene in its entirety.
It could capture all the myriad phenomena between heaven and earth; even the Dao itself could be recorded.
It was perfectly suited for recording fleeting, once-in-a-lifetime scenes.
One could then use the bead to study and comprehend what was recorded.
So, what this bead had captured was truly no ordinary video.
It was a near-perfect reproduction of the event.
The middle-aged man then said, “I have but one request.”
Jian Shisan looked at the bead. “Fellow Daoist, please speak freely.”
The middle-aged man said, “I hope you, Senior, will ensure my safety and escort me back to my Sect.”
He had obtained an extraordinary legacy and had to return safely. Though the video was valuable, it was nothing compared to the legacy he now carried.
Therefore, trading the bead for his safety was well worth it.
It wasn’t that he wanted to do this; he had been targeted and was left with no other choice.
Jian Shisan nodded. “No problem.”
Jian Shisan took the Myriad Phenomena Bead, glanced inside, and froze.
The others were extremely curious about what was inside.
Luo Ying then asked, “I wonder if Fellow Daoist Jian would be willing to share the video? I am willing to pay a sufficient price.”
After he finished watching, Jian Shisan shook his head. “There’s no need for payment. There’s nothing particularly sensitive. Everyone can have a look.”
‘He had already seen it,’ he thought. ‘There’s nothing in it that would negatively affect Jiang Zuo, so sharing it is fine.’
Then, with a wave of his hand, the video was instantly projected for all to see.
The video began with four people in a standoff. Suddenly, a ripple of power emanated from the projection itself, startling everyone.
‘What is that?’
‘Where is that coming from?’
They quickly realized it was truly coming from within the video.
At this point, the perspective in the video shifted, as if searching for the source of the power.
Then, it found him—a figure. The figure itself wasn’t bright, yet it was dazzling, as if he were illuminating the world around him.
It was the radiance of pure power.
But no one could comprehend what was happening.
The ripples of power and the world-illuminating radiance left them at a loss.
This person’s appearance was like the blazing sun, impossible to ignore.
Then, this person entered the circle of the four combatants. The image blurred for a moment before quickly refocusing.
One of the four immediately attacked with the power of a Tier Seven Peak. Few of the onlookers could have blocked such a blow.
However, to their horror, the power of a Tier Seven Peak was utterly fragile before that sun-like figure.
One move. A single move completely shattered the attack.
Perhaps because of the movement, or perhaps due to a shift in the viewing angle, they got a clear look at the figure—and his Cultivation.
It was him—the expert from the Holy Land who had led everyone out.
And his Cultivation was barely at Tier Seven.
Seeing this, someone exclaimed, “This is impossible! With a power level of 7.1, how could he defeat a Tier Seven Peak in a single move?”
However, before the person could finish their cry of disbelief, a Tier Eight aura erupted.
Then they witnessed an unbelievable sight: the Tier Seven expert not only blocked the attack, but he also went on to defeat the Tier Eight.
Again, in just one move.
‘How is that possible?’
‘How could such a powerful Tier Seven exist in this world?’
What followed was a terrifying explosion, one that would force even a Tier Eight to retreat.
But the result was that the Tier Eight was left on the brink of death, while the Tier Seven was completely unscathed.
The video ended, stopping at that scene.
Everyone present was stunned. They couldn’t believe what they had just seen.
While the others were in disbelief, Luo Ying’s heart pounded with terror as he watched. ‘It’s true. I was right. Once this person fully matures, he’ll be absolutely invincible.’
‘His terrifying nature isn’t something that can be perceived by sight alone.’
Jian Shisan, however, was different. He seemed to be on the verge of an epiphany.
