My Wife Might Be a Saintess
Chapter 670: A Giant Egg
Two months.
Hearing those words, Jingyue felt a sharp pang of frustration.
She had started her Cultivation as a child, trained for over a decade, and had many fortuitous encounters, all just to be able to fly at Tier Three.
But that little complainer, Su Qi, had spent her childhood studying, then fallen in love and gotten married, and still ended up learning to fly around the same time she did.
It was outrageous. Jingyue was deeply upset.
But now, she realized that Su Qi was actually quite reasonable in comparison.
Her husband was the truly outrageous one. An ordinary person who started cultivating Magic two months ago and could already fly.
What did that make her decade-plus of hard work look like?
Jiang Zuo might not be an ordinary person, but that was just a possibility. As far as she knew, he was.
That couple was truly outrageous.
————
Mo Yan and Liuyue Xue were walking on an unfamiliar mountain.
“Where are we? That gust of wind was huge. I have no idea where we got blown to,” Mo Yan said, looking around.
Liuyue Xue typed: If you hadn’t recklessly used the Nightmare Space, would we have been blown away?
“But you agreed to it!” Mo Yan retorted, unconvinced. “Who knew there would be such a powerful Fierce Beast? Good thing it was sleeping, or we’d be dead.”
Liuyue Xue didn’t say anything. Mo Yan had told her they could use the Nightmare Space to travel, which would let them scout the surroundings faster.
But the first time they tried to use the Nightmare Space, instead of pulling someone else in, they got pulled out themselves.
They ended up crashing right into a “cave.”
Then came a hurricane-force wind that blew them into the sky. It was only then that they discovered the cave was actually the nostril of a Great Fierce Beast.
It nearly scared the two of them to death.
Fortunately, the creature was just snoring.
Now they were certain: this place was not safe at all. That Fierce Beast just now was far beyond Tier Four and Tier Five.
Mo Yan said, “I think you guys should have just let Boss Po Xiao come. This place is no joke. Boss Po Xiao is 7.1, after all—oh, wait, no, Boss Po Xiao has already evolved to 9.9. Wouldn’t it be great to let a 9.9 come in first? It’s not like he’d steal from you.”
Liuyue Xue typed: Does your master believe Fellow Daoist Po Xiao is a 9.9?
Mo Yan blinked at Liuyue Xue and said, “Probably… doesn’t.”
Liuyue Xue shot Mo Yan a glare.
‘It would be a problem if she *did* believe it.’
‘So how could she possibly invite Po Xiao?’
‘When your own people discover a Secret Realm, you have to keep it to yourself, don’t you?’
‘Letting Mo Yan come along was already a rare exception. Let Po Xiao come in first?’
‘Absolutely impossible.’
After that, they continued upward, finally reaching the mountainside. When they looked out again, they were stunned.
Before them was a boundless ocean that stretched as far as the eye could see.
The ground beneath their feet must be a small island in the middle of that ocean.
“Oh god, can we even get back from here?” Mo Yan exclaimed.
Liuyue Xue also felt a wave of bitter despair. A boundless ocean was simply not something they could cross.
‘And which way was home?’
Mo Yan plopped down on the ground, refusing to move. “Liuyue Xue, you should call Chi Xue Child to come save us. I’m never getting back.”
Just then, Liuyue Xue started shaking Mo Yan insistently, as if she wanted to show her something.
Mo Yan said wearily, “We’re going to be trapped here forever, why aren’t you saying anything?”
‘Because talking is exhausting.’
Liuyue Xue thought to herself, then continued to shake Mo Yan.
Mo Yan got up and looked in the direction Liuyue Xue was pointing. She had been shaking her so hard because she wanted her to see something.
When she looked, Mo Yan was stunned again.
She saw a giant egg at the foot of the mountain. One look was enough to know it was no ordinary egg.
Mo Yan nudged Liuyue Xue. “Do you have any experience hatching eggs? Wanna try it out?”
Then Mo Yan grinned. “Then we can take a few pictures, preferably with you wearing something a little wild. Wow, we could definitely sell them for a sky-high price.”
Liuyue Xue: “…”
‘She still wanted to kill Mo Yan.’
————
By this point, Jingyue and Su Qi had finally figured out their opponents’ weakness. They conjured a great storm that blew the furry creatures’ coats into disarray.
In the end, the Spirit Beasts retreated in agony, no need to kill them at all.
Qing Lian also flew over on her Soft Cloud.
Jiang Zuo naturally came over with her, though he didn’t fly over on his own.
‘After all, that last bit had been rather awkward.’
‘If he’d known, he would have just cast a spell himself; it definitely would have been more powerful than that last move.’
As he approached, Jiang Zuo saw three disciples from Baili Valley lying on the ground, their status unknown.
‘But it doesn’t look like they were injured by those Spirit Beasts.’
‘They must have run into a powerful Spirit Beast. None of them have any external wounds, which means they didn’t encounter an ordinary expert. For Tier Two and Tier Three disciples to have their internal organs shattered, the attacker must be at least Tier Four. But a Tier Four probably couldn’t achieve this, so it must be at least Tier Five. And if a Tier Five had attacked them directly, they wouldn’t have escaped so easily. So, they were most likely injured unintentionally. That means the level has to be raised by one. Around Tier Six. So, the most likely scenario is this: these people were exploring and happened to run into a Tier Six Spirit Beast that was sleepwalking or talking in its sleep. Unfortunately for them, the Spirit Beast happened to be in the middle of its sleepwalking, and they were accidentally injured.’
Sure enough, after the two conscious disciples were rescued, they thanked Jingyue and the others. “Thank you both, Fairies, for saving us. We were accidentally injured by a Spirit Beast with a high Cultivation. It’s not far from here, and it should still be asleep. Perhaps we accidentally disturbed it. If you’re planning to go further, it’s best to take a detour.”
Jingyue nodded, then asked, “You’re from Baili Valley, aren’t you?”
The two people nodded in confirmation.
“Let me escort you up,” Jingyue said.
The two replied gratefully, “Thank you, Saintess.”
Su Qi whispered from the side, “Senior Sister, so they know who you are. No wonder they weren’t on guard.”
Jingyue didn’t say anything. ‘If she spoke now, they would definitely hear her. It would ruin her image as the Saintess. She couldn’t exactly say something like, ‘Of course they know me. I’m the Saintess, I have lots of fans, I’m famous. It’s only normal that they recognize me,’ could she?’
As they left, they thanked them profusely. If the Saintess hadn’t suddenly appeared, the five of them would most likely have perished here.
Now they were very worried about their other sisters; this place was far less safe than they had imagined.
There were powerful Spirit Beasts everywhere. Although they were sleeping, they all looked like they were about to wake up.
Of course, they still told Jingyue and the others about all this.
After all, they were their saviors.
As for how Jingyue’s group got in, no one cared about that.
If they hadn’t come in, the disciples would have died. Would they really care how their rescuers got there?
After seeing them off, Jingyue sighed. “It seems this place isn’t very safe after all. Those two just now were both at Tier Three Cultivation, and one of the injured was also Tier Three. If we’re not careful, we could easily be seriously injured too.”
Su Qi was also a little worried. It was a good thing they had come. If her husband had come alone, there was no telling what might have happened.
Jiang Zuo, however, was completely unconcerned.
‘A sleeping Spirit Beast, no matter how strong, couldn’t hurt him.’
