Within Wen Qingye's Sea of Consciousness.

"The environment here isn't half bad." The shadowy figure revealed its face—an old man with a full head of white hair, his eyes greedily scanning the expanse of Wen Qingye's Sea of Consciousness.

He was merely a wisp split off from the original Primordial Spirit and possessed no true sentience, so his gaze upon Wen Qingye's Sea of Consciousness revealed only a raw, possessive instinct.

"What? You want to devour my Primordial Spirit?"

Wen Qingye's Primordial Spirit slowly emerged, clad in robes whiter than snow, his eyes as serene as still water.

The black-robed old man chuckled lowly. "Kid, you're not wrong."

With that, the old man charged directly at Wen Qingye's Primordial Spirit.

'A wisp of Primordial Spirit from a Life and Death Realm Fifth Layer expert... it has some use.'

Wen Qingye smiled faintly. A golden light flashed in his hand, and the black-robed old man felt himself being pulled by an endless, irresistible force.

"Wh-what is happening?" the old man roared in terror.

Wen Qingye looked at the old man and said calmly, "Come here."

"N-no..."

WHOOSH!

The old man's body transformed into a thin black thread and was directly absorbed by the golden light in Wen Qingye's palm. On the Dragon Pearl, a faint red line flickered, appearing to have grown by an almost imperceptible amount.

Wen Qingye slowly vanished from the Sea of Consciousness as well.

"How did it go?" the Ice Python asked, seeing the light return to Wen Qingye's eyes.

Wen Qingye smiled slightly. "Let's continue deeper. I need more Primordial Spirit Power to mend this sliver of the Dragon Pearl's origin. Only by absorbing enough Primordial Spirit Power to restore the Dragon Pearl's origin will I have a chance to repair my meridians. It's best if we don't cause too much of a commotion."

...

「Taiyi Pavilion.」

Guu Hongxiu looked at the Jade Pendant in her hand and flew toward the mountain peak ahead.

Her injuries had completely healed by now. Moreover, her cultivation had improved, putting her in high spirits.

Guu Hongxiu muttered to herself, 'Who on earth is this masked man? For him to have such an intricate connection with this Zhang Xiaoyun of unknown origin... how strange.'

As she mused, Guu Hongxiu arrived at a pavilion on the peak. The pavilion faced the Cyan Netherworld and a distant mountain vista, where a woman in a goose-yellow dress stood.

Gao Yuerou watched the red-robed woman suddenly appear before her. Even though she was a woman herself, she couldn't help but marvel inwardly. She had never seen such a beautiful woman before. A question rose in her mind, and she couldn't help but ask, "And you are?"

Guu Hongxiu smiled faintly. "My name is Guu Hongxiu. I came specifically to find Junior Sister Zhang."

'Guu Hongxiu... She's *the* Guu Hongxiu? And she's here to see Xiaoyun?' Gao Yuerou's heart was thrown into turmoil. Guu Hongxiu's name was incredibly famous throughout Taiyi Pavilion.

Not only was her talent astounding, making her one of Taiyi Pavilion's Seven Reverences, but her beauty was also considered the greatest in the entire sect. She was pursued by countless prodigies. How could Gao Yuerou not know her name?

"You're looking for me?"

Just then, Zhang Xiaoyun slowly walked out. Her pink dress swayed in the wind. Her snow-white skin had a rosy blush, her vermilion lips were slightly parted, and her eyes shimmered with a watery light that inspired tenderness. She carried a tray with a tea set on it.

A beauty so exquisite it inspired tenderness.

"Are you Zhang Xiaoyun?" Guu Hongxiu couldn't help but ask when she saw her.

Zhang Xiaoyun nodded, a hint of wariness rising in her heart as she asked, "Yes. Is there something you need from me?"

"Yes, I do have something for you." Guu Hongxiu nodded, then took out the Jade Pendant. She held it out to Zhang Xiaoyun and said, "Someone claiming to be your relative asked me to give this to you."

'A relative? Who could it be?'

Zhang Xiaoyun was puzzled, but then she saw the Jade Pendant in Guu Hongxiu's hand. Her heart began to tremble violently, uncontrollably. Her eyes fixed on the Jade Pendant as her slender, jade-like hands reached out, trembling, to take it.

Seeing Zhang Xiaoyun lose her composure, Guu Hongxiu secretly nodded to herself. 'It seems he really is her relative. He wasn't lying.'

Watching from the side, Gao Yuerou saw how emotional Zhang Xiaoyun had become and seemed to understand something. Her own eyes burned as she stared at the Jade Pendant, and she looked a little lost and dejected.

Guu Hongxiu looked at the dazed Zhang Xiaoyun and asked softly, "If I may be so bold, is that person truly your relative?"

Zhang Xiaoyun finally came back to her senses. She looked at Guu Hongxiu and anxiously asked back, "Who was the person who gave you the Jade Pendant?"

Guu Hongxiu was taken aback for a moment, then answered instinctively, "A man in a mask. I didn't get a clear look at his face or learn his name."

'It's my husband! It must be him!'

Hearing this, Zhang Xiaoyun let out a sigh of relief. She nodded and said nothing more.

Guu Hongxiu pressed on, "You still haven't answered my question."

Zhang Xiaoyun nodded emphatically. "Yes, he is my relative."

Guu Hongxiu asked hurriedly, "What's his name?"

Zhang Xiaoyun's gaze drifted away. She lowered her head and said softly, "I can't tell you. I think if he wanted you to know, he would have told you himself."

"Alright, I understand." Seeing Zhang Xiaoyun's reaction, Guu Hongxiu knew she wouldn't say anything more. She sounded a bit helpless as she said, "Well, I've delivered the Jade Pendant, so I'll be going now."

"I'll see you out, Senior Sister Guu." Seeing that Guu Hongxiu was about to leave, Gao Yuerou grew anxious and quickly spoke up.

Guu Hongxiu didn't refuse, and the two of them started walking down the mountain.

Gao Yuerou looked at the world-toppling beauty beside her, pursed her lips, and asked, "That man in the mask... is he alright?"

Guu Hongxiu nodded. "He's fine. Why do you ask?"

"As long as he's fine, that's all that matters." Gao Yuerou nodded. "He..."

Gao Yuerou wanted to ask more, but she found she didn't know what to ask. Her voice trailed off, and she fell silent.

A sharp glint appeared in Guu Hongxiu's eyes. Looking at the silent Gao Yuerou before her, she seemed to have an epiphany.

Only after the two had left did Zhang Xiaoyun look down at the Jade Pendant in her hand. Her hand began to tremble slightly, and her eyes misted over.

"Husband..."

Suddenly, the smooth Jade Pendant emitted a cyan-white light and slowly lifted from her palm. Zhang Xiaoyun stared at the levitating Jade Pendant, at a complete loss.

TSSS TSSS TSSS!

The Jade Pendant floated in mid-air, gradually releasing countless motes of dust-like light. Within that faint light, a human figure slowly began to appear.

Clad in cyan robes, as vibrant as a blossoming tree; his sleeves, bathed in moonlight, spoke of peerless elegance.

"H-Husband..."

Zhang Xiaoyun's voice trembled as she looked at the figure, tears slowly streaming from the corners of her eyes.

Wen Qingye seemed to stand in mid-air. A faint smile touched his lips as he looked down at Zhang Xiaoyun and said, "This is a wisp of my Divine Thought, recording the words I wanted to say to you. Alright, I'm sure you're crying right now. Stop crying."
