Chapter 400: Chapter 55: Fragments of Law and the Stolen Sun

The conceptual cliff did not just crack. It shattered into a billion pieces of pure, blinding light.

Inside Training Room Seven, Ash sat cross-legged on the platform, his eyes closed. The qualitative evolution of his life level had begun. The mortal shell of the Martial Apprentice realm was breaking open, rewriting his biology and spiritual structure to accommodate a fundamentally higher state of existence.

But Ash was not breaking through with a single Intent. He was breaking through with nine perfectly comprehended True Cosmic Laws fused into the Boundless Omni Art.

The sheer conceptual weight of this evolution could not be contained by physical walls.

When the barrier shattered, it didn’t release a physical explosion of fire or force. It released a shockwave of pure, unadulterated authority. The conceptual detonation blew past the sealed walls of the training room, rippling through the isolation arrays, and washed over the entire Azure Cloud Martial Academy.

***

On the surface, the academy grounds were already largely evacuated. Because of the massive energy vortex that had formed earlier, the millions of students had been moved to the central plazas and open fields. Behind them, standing in a massive, interlocking protective formation, were the remaining Martial Kings, Grandmasters, and Masters of the academy. They had linked their auras, creating a shimmering dome of cosmic energy to shield the students from whatever was happening in the western annex.

Then, the conceptual shockwave hit.

The protective dome didn’t shatter, but it rippled violently, turning a translucent blue as it absorbed the impact. But it wasn’t the physical force that made the instructors gasp. It was the rain of Law fragments.

The air above the academy suddenly fractured into nine distinct, overlapping auras. It was as if the sky itself had been painted with the fundamental source code of the universe.

A wave of profound, terrifying heat washed over the eastern fields—the pure essence of Fire Law. A crushing, localized gravity pressed down on the northern courtyards—the echo of Gravity Law. The air shimmered with spatial distortions, and the scent of ozone and blooming life filled the wind. Fragments of Sword, Space, Metal, Force, Lightning, Life, and Annihilation permeated the entire campus.

In the central plaza, a Martial King named Vance was holding the shield steady when he suddenly felt a fragment of Sword Law brush against his spiritual sense. It was faint, incredibly diluted, but it was undeniably a True Cosmic Law. And it was at absolute, flawless purity.

Vance’s eyes widened. He didn’t hesitate. He dropped to his knees right there on the stone plaza, crossed his legs, and closed his eyes.

He turned to a trembling first-year student crouching beside him. "Don’t waste this opportunity," Vance ordered, his voice tight with urgent excitement. "Sit down. Close your eyes. Begin to comprehend the fragments of the laws floating in the air. Even if you can only comprehend 0.01% of it, it would be immensely useful for your future cultivation. Do it now!"

The student blinked, then immediately mimicked the King’s posture, closing his eyes and reaching out with his spiritual sense.

Seeing their leader do this, the other Martial Masters, Grandmasters, and even the remaining Kings followed suit. One by one, the protectors of the academy dropped to the ground. Within seconds, the entire academy grounds fell into a dead, profound silence. Millions of students and thousands of instructors sat cross-legged under the open sky, desperately trying to grasp the fading, heaven-defying echoes of Ash Apeiron’s breakthrough.

***

High above the academy, in the stratosphere, Sovereign Kael Thorne and Sovereign Lyra Veyra were hit by the conceptual shockwave.

They didn’t flinch, but their divine senses instantly flared to analyze the anomaly. What they felt made their quantum-speed minds stall for a microsecond.

They were feeling the distinct, undeniable signatures of nine different True Cosmic Laws. And every single one of them was radiating at one hundred percent purity.

Lyra’s hands, which had been steadily weaving the spatial gate to the sun, actually trembled. Kael’s jaw tightened so hard the muscles stood out like steel cables.

To put it in perspective, their own comprehension of their primary laws sat between fifty and eighty percent. They were the pinnacle of human power. The only being in humanity’s history to reach higher was the Martial Saint, whose Sword Law sat at ninety-five percent with near-perfect application.

For an eighteen-year-old E-Rank student to possess nine laws at absolute, flawless perfection was a level of heaven-defying comprehension that defied all logic, math, and reason.

Since they discovered this boy, they had been more shocked multiple times than they had been in the last few decades of their lives.

But there was no time to process the sheer absurdity of it.

Deep beneath the Earth’s crust, the Planetary Cultivation Seed reacted. The sheer density of the nine laws radiating from the academy acted like a catalyst. The seed’s resonance spiked violently, its activation window accelerating faster than their worst-case models had predicted. The ground beneath the orbital fortress actually groaned, a subsonic vibration that rattled the teeth of every cultivator in orbit.

"He’s waking the seed," Kael growled, his Law of Force flaring to stabilize the space around them. "Lyra, isolate the room. Now."

Lyra didn’t waste a single breath. Her eyes glowed with blinding silver light as she thrust both hands forward. She wove her Law of Space with desperate speed, creating a massive, impenetrable spatial isolation barrier around the exact coordinates of Training Room Seven. She effectively cut the room off from the physical and conceptual fabric of the Earth, wrapping it in a folded vacuum of null-space.

The moment the barrier locked into place, the resonance with the seed stopped. The subsonic groaning of the planet faded.

Kael let out a long, heavy breath, rubbing his temples. "This brat better be able to help us solve the vortex seed issue after causing this much disturbance and accelerating the activation window."

Lyra kept her eyes closed, maintaining the massive spatial quarantine. "Let’s just hope he can," she replied calmly, though her voice carried a rare edge of awe. "His Space Law is already at one hundred percent comprehension. He should have a high percentage of success in moving or resealing the vortex."

Through their quantum-telepathic network, they broadcast the live data to the Sovereigns and Emperors on the orbital fortress. The high command, who had been bracing for a planetary catastrophe, was instantly flooded with the readouts of nine perfect laws. The relief and thrill that rippled through the network was palpable. Humanity finally had a massive new branch to lean on for the seed crisis.

Meanwhile, in the void of space, a dedicated Martial Sovereign remained on absolute standby, his hands hovering over the spatial arrays he had constructed over the Earth like a barrier, ready to mass-teleport every key facility and human on Earth to Mars in a single instant if the seed breached the crust.

***

Inside the spatially isolated room, Ash was completely unaware of the surface events, the mass meditation, or the near-catastrophe with the seed.

He was too busy undergoing a complete, total metamorphosis.

There was no pain. There was no violent struggle. There was only a profound, echoing click of absolute perfection, like a key finally turning in a lock that had been forged specifically for it.

He broke through to the Martial Master realm, and his life level evolved. His Layer 333 foundation didn’t disappear; it transcended. The dense, star-forged cells he had built over twenty days of grueling refinement were suddenly subjected to the absolute authority of the nine True Cosmic Laws.

The Body: A Physical Manifestation of Law

Sword Law sliced through his very being, not to destroy, but to define. His cellular membranes aligned along invisible planes of optimal shear resistance, teaching his tissues the fundamental concept of division. Fire Law ignited a deep, rolling heat in his marrow, accelerating his metabolic pathways to stellar levels, allowing his cells to burn energy with absolute, zero-waste perfection. Space Law expanded his internal spatial tolerance, creating microscopic voids within his cellular matrices that reduced the friction of energy movement to absolute zero. Gravity Law tightened the gravitational pull between his own atoms, locking his skeleton into a state of unbreakable harmony. Metal Law ordered the crystalline arrangement of minerals within his bones, turning them into a conceptual alloy. Force Law rewrote his kinetic chains so that every movement transmitted force with one hundred percent efficiency. Lightning Law surged through his nervous system, sharpening his bioelectric signaling to near-instantaneous speeds. Life Law flooded his system with continuous, inexhaustible self-renewal. Finally, Annihilation Law settled into his cells like a cold, silent void, giving him the controlled capacity to nullify corrupted matter at a subatomic level.

The Soul: The Solidification of the Mental Cosmos

Simultaneously, his sea of consciousness underwent a violent, beautiful expansion. The mental universe he had built didn’t just grow in size; it solidified into reality. The illusory planets he had visualized suddenly gained actual, physical mass, exerting real gravity. The mental sun at the center ignited with true, usable fusion, radiating pure, heavy mental energy. The black holes in the deep cosmos anchored the entire mental galaxy, locking his thoughts into perfect, unbreakable orbits. At the very center sat his Boundless Origin Martial Soul, evolving into the supreme authority of this living cosmos.

The Energy: The Law-Infused Network

Ash didn’t possess a traditional dantian. Instead, his trillions of cells and acupoints functioned as an interconnected storage network. As his life level evolved, the cosmic energy inside him underwent a massive qualitative shift. Infused with the authority of the nine True Cosmic Laws, it stopped being just "fuel" and became an extension of his will. When he thought of fire, the energy in his cells conceptually became fire. The Boundless Omni Art circulated this energy, weaving his physical cells, his mental cosmos, and his soul into a single, unified existence.

His capacity was no longer just vast. It was bottomless.

***

The breakthrough to Martial Master completed with a deep, resonant hum. The conceptual wall was gone. The life evolution was finished.

But the sun was still feeding him.

High above in the stratosphere, Sovereign Kael and Lyra were still holding open the spatial gate, pouring a solid pillar of liquid starlight directly into his core. His new foundation was so monstrous, and the solar feed so intense, that he didn’t even pause to stabilize at the Early Martial Master stage. The Boundless Omni Art drank the stellar energy without a single drop of waste.

His cultivation base rocketed forward.

In a few minutes, his foundation stabilized, and he effortlessly reached Peak Martial Master.

The energy kept pouring in. He broke through to Martial Grandmaster. His spiritual sense exploded outward, his physical stats doubling in an instant.

In just a few more minutes, he reached Peak Martial Grandmaster.

He attempted to push into the Martial King realm.

He hit an absolute, immovable wall.

His body, soul, energy and law refused to fuse further. The conceptual barrier to the King realm stood before him, solid as a mountain, completely immune to the massive influx of stellar energy he was consuming.

Ash frowned in the privacy of his mindscape. The solar energy he was currently receiving wasn’t dense or vast enough to force the next evolution. He needed more.

His mind extended upward.

It didn’t just reach out; it dominated. His consciousness ignored Lyra’s spatial isolation barrier as if it were made of wet paper. It shot past the stratosphere, past the hovering Martial Sovereigns who were busy maintaining the sun gate, past the Earth’s exosphere, and locked directly onto the burning core of the sun.

And without any delay, without a single fraction of a second of warning, Ash snatched the control.

High in the sky, Kael and Lyra suddenly gasped.

The conceptual locks they had placed on the solar extraction and the spatial portal simply vanished from their grasp. It wasn’t that the locks were broken; it was that an infinitely heavier authority had simply overwritten them.

Kael and Lyra stared at their empty hands in absolute, unadulterated shock. They didn’t even have the chance to react. Their minds, processing at quantum speeds, tried to trace who the control had gone to, and their divine senses snapped down to the academy.

They stared toward Training Room Seven in sheer disbelief. What the hell is he doing now?

Down in the room, Ash took control of the extraction. He began to pull solar energy at a scale that made Kael’s previous effort look like a trickle from a faucet. He converted the stellar plasma, condensed it to a terrifying, almost liquid density, and sent it down the portal.

The golden beam that erupted above the academy didn’t just pour into the vortex; it slammed into it like a pillar of a collapsing star. Ash greedily devoured it at an absurd, planetary scale.

High in the stratosphere, Lyra watched the sheer volume of energy bypassing her arrays. She actually spoke out loud, her voice carrying a mix of exasperation and profound disbelief.

"If you needed more energy, you could have just asked, instead of snatching control from us rudely."

Kael rubbed his chest, letting out a long, shaky breath. His heart, which hadn’t beaten faster in centuries, was actually racing. "Yeah, that gave me a fright. I thought it was someone else far above us that did it. I was ready to go into combat mode."

The two Martial Sovereigns continued to watch in awe as the boy in the sealed room drank the power of a star. They exchanged a glance, their minds racing. What kind of foundation did he have that would require this much energy just to attempt a breakthrough? They couldn’t even envision it. So, they just continued to watch, also watching the spatial gate which was far more stable than they could ever achieve, as he devoured the sun.

***

A few minutes passed.

Despite the terrifying influx of stellar energy, Ash still could not achieve the fusion of body, soul, energy, and law required to reach the Martial King realm.

He stopped pushing. He used his heaven-defying brain to deduce the exact reason, he had previously guessed it was an energy density issue but that had not been the only reason.

His parallel streams began to analyze the conceptual wall in front of him.

The answer became clear, and it was entirely unique to his situation.

His body, soul, and energy were already perfectly fused. His Laws were what were holding him back.

A normal Martial Grandmaster uses a True Cosmic Law as the core foundation to break through to the Martial King realm. The Law acts as the bridge, integrating the physical, spiritual, and energetic bodies into a single, law-governed existence.

But Ash had already used his perfectly comprehended Laws to break through from the Martial Apprentice realm to the Martial Master realm. His body, soul, and energy were already fully integrated with his unique laws and cosmic laws.

He couldn’t integrate what was already integrated.

To break through to Martial King, he needed something higher than True Cosmic Laws. He needed concepts that sat above the fundamental rules of the universe—concepts like Origin, Dao, or higher multiversal principles.

And he didn’t currently have that.

He would have to find that path himself, or copy it from a higher-tier parallel self in the multiverse during his next jump.

Realizing he was completely capped for now, Ash decided to halt his rapid cultivation.

He cut off the flow.

Above the academy, the massive energy vortex instantly dissipated, the clouds snapping back into place as the atmospheric pressure equalized. The spatial portals to the sun closed with a soft pop. The stellar energy extraction stopped.

Everywhere became calm once again. The sky cleared, returning to a bright, peaceful blue.

Inside the room, Ash sat in the quiet and began to consolidate his cultivation at the Peak Martial Grandmaster Realm. He circulated the Boundless Omni Art, smoothing out the turbulent energy, locking his foundation into place.

Although he wasn’t able to break through to the Martial King realm, the sheer energy density and quantity in his body, forged by the solar feed and his nine perfect laws, was now far higher than that of a normal Martial Sovereign. He was a Grandmaster in name, but in terms of raw, unadulterated power, he stood at the apex of the planet.

High in the sky, Kael, Lyra, and the other Sovereigns sighed in massive relief as the terrifying commotion and energy drain finally ended. The spatial isolation barrier around the training room remained, but the violent fluctuations had ceased.

They hovered in the quiet sky, looking down at the western annex. The crisis with the seed had been averted, the boy had survived his evolution, and humanity had just gained a monstrous new asset.

They were just waiting for Ash to finish consolidating his cultivation, walk out the door, and have a very, very serious talk with him.
