Myths Reawakened

Chapter 522 (2): What a Strong Man

  • Next Chapter

Kaleb rose to two meters tall, Her limbs growing proportionately. Her blonde hair, bathed in golden light, flew up, Her pure, noble face growing ever more sacred and flawless. She appeared ethereally lively and gentle, with the mystique of elves and the brightness of the sun. Her extraordinary grace was out of this world.

Awash in radiant holy light, She was heart-shudderingly stunning.

“Let’s go again. I’m gonna make you eat shit this time!” Kaleb curled Her fingers at him, destroying Her image with a few words.

Wayne was speechless. He quickly shifted into a figure of two hundred and twenty centimeters tall, his body writhing. He suggested, “My goddess, you’re stunning when you’re quiet. Promise me not to open that mouth again.”

“I’d say the same to you. Shut your damn trap!”

Wayne had successfully riled Kaleb up. Eyes turning red, She held Her fingers together like a blade and pierced his chest at lightning speed.

His skin broke audibly as the delicate hands protruded from his back. Half of Kaleb’s arm was put through his chest, trapped by the writhing white foam. She pulled back slightly in order to slam Her head into his chin.

The white foam scattered, and Kaleb ended up pulled into Wayne’s body, Her face covered by wriggling white foam. It was getting into Her nose and mouth.

Thinking back to Wayne’s terrifying corruption, Kaleb unleashed fiery golden radiance in shock, shattering the shapeless white foam. Pulling back, She put some distance between them.

Ptui!

Kaleb spat out white foam and wiped Her mouth, making sure that She had not been corrupted. While She was relieved, it also annoyed Her.

Who do you think you are? Why didn’t you go all out?!

White foam gathered in the sky, writhing and transforming into Wayne’s human form. His hair was neatly slicked back, and his black suit was impeccably kept clean. Under Kaleb’s furious gaze, he smiled and summoned the rest of the white foam, completing his limbs.

The last part was the part that Kaleb had spat out. It climbed up Wayne’s suit pants and settled between his legs.

“...” x3

Weaver fell silent, and so did Aroman and Kaleb.

When She recovered, Kaleb staggered and felt so ashamed that She couldn’t live with Herself. Although She knew that Wayne was provoking Her on purpose, She was still repulsed.

Her crimson eyes brimmed with killing intent. She stopped obsessing over proving Her elven life essence.

Following a low battle cry, rays of blinding light surged through the gaps between the mountains, soaring into the sky. Blazing flames rendered everything on the third level to ashes.

At the same time, rainbow-colored light filled the sky, shining down in infinite rays. All of the Divine Realm of Sun’s Authority had concentrated on the third level. Light hung above blazing flames. The fire elements stirred, agitated. The golden sky and red land combined into what looked like the surface of the sun.

Actually, the heat intense enough to distort space had to be the core of the sun.

Kaleb, in the form of a sun elf, hovered in the air. The Divine Armory radiated behind Her, brandishing a golden greatsword glowing red first, then an impressive golden chariot. A dense volley of golden rays bombarded Wayne. To stop him from fleeing or breaking apart on his own, Kaleb locked down the space around him, forcing him to take every single attack.

The golden rays knocked Wayne off to the burning fire below. Storms of flames raged, and golden waves burst into infinite light, rumbling thunderously. Within the next minute, the divine weapons returned to Kaleb. The sun elf, clad in golden armor, stood on the chariot with a spear and a shield in Her hands.

Her murderous intent covered Her stunning face. Her golden eyes looked down with tremendous divine might. Behind Her, it seemed like a massive sun was rising, morphing into the projection of an impossibly tall goddess.

The devastating divine might came crashing down like a physical thing, cutting and slicing the land where Wayne had fallen to pieces, dissolving space.

The Goddess of Sun was truly beautiful when She didn’t speak.

Splash—

The ocean of fire parted, and Wayne rose from the molten lava. Most of his body had melted in the intense heat. He looked barely human.

When he opened his mouth for another taunt, Kaleb shot golden light from Her eyes to evaporate the shameless man’s head.

Kaleb drove the chariot down like a shooting star, the trajectory too fast to be captured. Its infinite light evaporated Wayne’s body.

The chariot usually had a mount and a charioteer—Weaver and Aroman, but Wayne’s ability was so insidious that Kaleb decided against summoning them in case they ended up doing more harm than good. Moreover, Kaleb and Wayne had agreed to have a duel, and the loser would honor the bet.

The Chariot of Sun would not stop once it started. It flashed through the sky above the sea of flames like a streak of lightning, splitting space and leaving black patterns in its wake, reducing the rising white steam to ashes.

Kaleb could sense the steam’s unusual vitality. If She didn’t erase it fully, Wayne would be able to come back to life at any time.

In the blink of an eye, all the steam had been burned to ashes, leaving only a wisp in the air. The chariot came to a halt. Kaleb raised Her spear and pointed at the wisp of steam with intense heat gathering at the tip of Her weapon. “This is the only remainder of your body. Once it’s wiped out, your thoughts will have no host. You should surrender. You’ve lost.”

“My physical body does not matter...”

Under Kaleb’s look of surprise, the steam disintegrated into rotten black sludge on its own. The ashes that had been rendered lifeless gathered along the stormy gales. Once the air settled, Wayne emerged fully intact.

“Nice knowledge,” he said, pursing his lips. “It’s passionate, just like you.”

Kaleb narrowed Her eyes, ignoring the disingenuous compliment. She swung Her golden spear backward. Wayne, stepping onto the golden chariot at some point, drew the longsword on Kaleb’s back to face the sweeping spear.

The spear and sword collided, sputtering sparks. The particles of golden light expanded without limit. From the chariot, scorching shockwaves shot outwards.

Rather than commanding Her sword to get away from Wayne, Kaleb wielded Her spear in one hand and swung Her shield to bash him with the other hand, once again locked into a battle of strength with him.

In the form of a sun elf, She was a much more formidable melee fighter, with higher overall stats and significantly better speed and strength.

Yet She was forced to the edge of the chariot with the railing digging into Her waist—or the weapon rack of the Divine Armory. Her upper body bent backward, unable to resist Wayne’s arm strength.

Wayne was almost pressed against Kaleb entirely. His eyes turned crimson with heat vision shooting straight at the sun elf’s eyes. She retaliated in kind with golden light shooting out of Her eyes.

The red and golden rays collided, the fire elements clashing.

In the Divine Realm of Sun, Wayne had a far smaller reserve of fire elements than Kaleb. He knew his disadvantage, so he wasn’t going to let the fight drag on. He went all in immediately with incredible explosive power and output. The thick rays of his heat vision crushed the golden light immediately, inching toward Kaleb’s eyes.

Kaleb had an impressive output, too. Unfortunately, She picked the wrong opponent and ended up being suppressed.

The armor of Sun cladding Her was radiant. The golden lion head on the surface of the shield roared, emerging as a winged lion. It tried to tackle Wayne to bring him to the ground.

But it failed.

Wayne didn’t even budge, his feet planted on the chariot like they had taken roots. The lion only managed to pop its head out, forced back into the shield before it could demonstrate its valiant might.

The opponent was so powerful that it couldn’t even get out of the door.

“Getting fancy, huh? My goddess, I didn’t expect you to be easy when you’re on the bottom.” Wayne’s eyes lit up with red light. As he spoke, his heat vision surged even more intensely.

Kaleb gritted Her teeth and held on. As the red light approached Her eyes, the incredible heat astounded Her. Not wanting Her eyes to become charred sockets, She manipulated space with the Authority of the Divine Realm and teleported away with the golden chariot.

Boom!!!

The heat vision shot into the sea of flames below, bringing up rising tides of lava. Wayne lifted his head slightly to cut the red sea with his vision, tearing into the golden screen of light in the distance.

Not far from them, Weaver stared in shock. His gaping mouth, burly build, and confused eyes painted a picture that had not been tainted by intelligence. Aroman didn’t fare any better. Her mouth had opened into an O, like a beautiful idiot.

Anyone with working eyes could see that the Goddess of Sun was being one-sidedly crushed, never getting the upper hand. Not even the entire Divine Realm could help Her turn the tide.

“Aroman, didn’t Wayne come to assist the goddess?”

“I think so...”

The two subordinate gods were thoroughly confused. They began to suspect that this battle would determine the future master of the Divine Realm of Sun. Whoever won would be the Sun God.

They hissed.

Wayne closed his eyes and dispersed the heat. Turning slowly to Kaleb, who stood on the chariot, he said, “This is how it should be. Don’t think about using the Authority as an unfair advantage. I’m not as weak as you thought, and you’re not as strong as you believe. It’ll only be a fair fight if I’m put at a disadvantage.”

“Shut up!”

Kaleb drove the golden chariot to charge at him. Once an exception was made, and She had broken Her principle, She stopped obsessing over proving Herself to Wayne. She just wanted to bring him to his knees. Then She would do whatever She wanted!

The moment the chariot advanced in a flash, Kaleb lost track of Wayne’s thoughts. When She noticed the malice coming from behind Her, She whirled around without hesitation, swinging Her golden spear.

Wayne ducked down and pushed against the shield with his longsword. Seizing the opening, he elbowed Her in the chest and slammed his head against Hers the moment She doubled over.

Thud!

It was a nice head, hard and sturdy.

Wayne’s head had caved in and recovered anew, while Kaleb felt lightheaded like She was drunk. Losing Her spear and Her shield to Wayne, She was then kicked in the chest, sent flying out of the chariot.

Mid-air, She shook Her dizzy head, Her eyes unfocused. Her thoughts caught Wayne’s pursuing figure, so She raised a hand and summoned the golden chariot.

Boom!!

Wayne accelerated mid-air, slamming into Kaleb before the golden chariot descended. While pressing a hand on Her frontal armor and his other hand on Her elven face, he plunged into the crimson lava sea with Her.

The lava came into contact with his body. A simple lick from the Book of Greed broke the matter down to the most primitive fire elements. Hundreds of red rays flooded into him. He unleashed the energy without reservation, forcing Kaleb to fall into the core of the lava sea with him.

At the same time, his terrifying thoughts turned into a heavy hammer and slammed into Kaleb’s head, forcing open the doorway to Her mind. He unleashed vicious mockery: “My goddess, what are you waiting for? You can return to your divine palace with a single thought, isolating the third level and trapping me in the Peak of Courage forever. Believe in yourself. You can do it easily."

Impossible!

Kaleb growled furiously, Her eyes overflowing with golden light. She grabbed Wayne’s shoulders and pulled his head toward Her chest.

)`??)

So hard. I shouldn’t have tried to be a gentleman.

His thoughts derailed when the armor of Sun disappeared. A tremendous darkness overwhelmed him, blinding his five senses to the outside world.

At the same time, the divine weapons of the Divine Armory circled in the sky. Massive sacred projections filled the space between heaven and earth, some drawing their swords, some raising their spears, some lifting their bows, some brandishing staves, some holding shields, some wearing armor, and others riding chariots...

Their golden eyes surged with thoughts as they looked down at the crimson sea in unison. Fierce rays shot down like shooting stars, quick as lightning.

Above the Garden of Power of the second level, golden light pierced through the dome, bombarding the land below with devastating power. Then the light penetrated further to the Valley of Flare of the first level.

Rumble—

All of the Divine Realm of Sun trembled under the hit. On the fringe of the Divine Realm, two stunning beauties exchanged a resigned glance.

“The coordinates didn’t work,” Ines said with a sigh. “Kaleb forbade us from entering. We’ve come too late. My hubby can’t get out.”

“Why are you still being sarcastic now?” Aztimor huffed.

“Why not? Kaleb can’t win. What’s wrong with letting my hubby play around?” Ines narrowed Her eyes. “I wonder where Siluk is. If She’s in the Divine Realm of Sun...”

“Damn it, my hubby is getting played!”
