Chapter 908: [908] : Frieza, Annihilated

"How are you still alive?"

Cell was stunned. According to his own data, Vegeta, Piccolo, and Krillin had all been killed by Androids 17 and 18. Yet here they were, not only alive but seemingly stronger than before.

Vegeta sneered at Cell. "Someone brought us back."

The word jogged Cell’s memory. That strange man, the one who had summoned those other bizarre fighters. Could he really bring people back from the dead?

Cell prepared to attack, but Vegeta, Krillin, and Piccolo were already charging him, their intent clear: to self-destruct and take him with them. A brilliant blue light engulfed the area.

"Mother!"

Trunks cried out in anguish. Shin placed a comforting hand on his shoulder.

He knew that even though Vegeta and the others were immortal, they couldn’t truly stop Cell, just as the revived Hokage couldn’t. They could only delay him. And Bulma... she was gone forever.

This world was cruel. It was true in the world of shinobi, and it was true in the world of Dragon Ball.

Shin sighed but didn’t dwell on it. He had no time to waste. There was still a long road ahead.

The time machine came to a stop. Shin, Kushina, and Trunks had traveled back twenty years.

The three of them stepped out of the machine. Shin looked around. It was just as he had seen in the anime—a barren wasteland. In front of them, seven or eight figures stared at them with astonishment.

"Who are you?"

Another version of Vegeta stepped forward. This version was less mature, but his arrogance burned even brighter.

Behind him were Piccolo, Krillin, Tien Shinhan, and the others. Their expressions were hostile, their bodies tensed for a fight.

Shin knew from the manga that at this point in time, they were waiting for the arrival of Frieza and his father, King Cold. Seeing Shin and Trunks in their strange attire, they suspected they were with Frieza.

This version of Trunks was far from the mature warrior he would become. Seeing Vegeta, his eyes filled with tears, and he stepped forward. "Father."

His words only made Vegeta and the others more suspicious. Where did this kid come from, calling him "father"?

Vegeta sneered. "You’re with Frieza, aren’t you? You think you can fool us with a few sweet words?"

Trunks finally realized their mistake. He immediately transformed into a Super Saiyan. A golden aura erupted around him, his hair turning a brilliant gold.

The sheer power of the transformation stunned the others, the ground trembling as if a giant were stomping on it.

"You’re... a Super Saiyan?"

Vegeta was shocked. The only Super Saiyan in the world was Goku. How could this young man also be a Super Saiyan? What was his connection to Goku?

’And he called me his father.’

Vegeta, always sharp, quickly began to connect the dots.

Shin stepped forward. "Whether you believe it or not, we’re from twenty years in the future. The Earth of our time is in grave danger, so we traveled back in time to find you and Goku."

Shin didn’t want to drag things out. He cut straight to the chase.

His words only left them more confused. Twenty years in the future? What kind of bizarre story was this?

Only Bulma’s expression changed. She had been researching time travel, but she hadn’t made much progress. Now, people from twenty years in the future had appeared. Could it be that in the future, her research was successful?

As they were all lost in their own thoughts, a massive spaceship began to descend.

Vegeta shouted, "It’s Frieza and King Cold!"

Shin thought so too. They had arrived right on time. He and Trunks exchanged a look.

"Let me handle them," Shin said. "A show of good faith."

Trunks didn’t know what that meant, but he trusted and admired Shin completely. He nodded, letting Shin take the lead.

Shin slowly walked towards the massive spaceship. A group of bizarrely shaped soldiers disembarked, led by Frieza and King Cold.

Frieza froze when he saw Shin. He could sense an immense power radiating from him, yet he couldn’t identify who he was. He took out his scouter to assess Shin’s power level, but it only read "20."

’Impossible. How can his power level be only twenty?’

He figured the scouter was broken again and tossed it aside. He and his father surrounded Shin.

"Is this person Goku?" King Cold asked, licking his lips. He seemed even more savage than Frieza. He looked ready to devour Shin.

"Hmph!" Frieza laughed. "He’s not Goku. But I have a feeling he’s even more dangerous."

"Let’s deal with this kid first." Frieza and King Cold closed in on Shin.

Shin laughed, then swiftly entered Sage Mode. With his current strength, he could easily overwhelm Androids 17 and 18 in this state.

He slowly flew into the sky, using the flight technique he had learned.

Seeing Shin take to the air, Frieza and King Cold followed. They fired energy blasts at him, both of them taking him very seriously, attacking with lethal force from the start.

Frieza even transformed, determined to eliminate Shin.

But in his current Sage Mode, Shin simply waved his hand—and great Torii gates descended from the sky, sealing the two of them in place.

Then, Shin used Wood Release, and the ground erupted with writhing wood, completely ensnaring them.

Shin was going all out now, unlike when he had fought Cell. The power of his Wood Release was incredible, completely altering the landscape.

Frieza and King Cold were bound tightly, stunned. They had never seen such a strange attack. The battles in their world were all about hard-hitting, power-level-driven clashes.

Shin simply pressed his hand down.

Frieza and King Cold roared in agony, but in a matter of moments, they were reduced to nothing but dust.

Then, Shin dealt with their soldiers as easily as stepping on bugs.
