Naruto: I Stole Tsunade… and Became Hokage
Chapter 359: Mother and Daughter Reunited; Another World [HN]
On Hokage Rock, the night wind swept past, but it could not disperse the silence that seemed to have frozen in place.
Chiya repeatedly scanned the two girls before him who claimed to have come from the future, Mirai and Chimi.
Rarely had such violent ripples of emotion appeared in his eyes.
Shock, suspicion, and a strange stir from deep within his bloodline that even he had not noticed were intertwined.
“Father… We are your daughters from the future…”
Those words echoed through his heart like thunder.
“Proof.”
Chiya’s voice returned to its usual calmness, but it was deeper and slightly hoarse than usual, revealing the turmoil within him.
“Simply looking alike isn’t enough.”
Mirai and Chimi exchanged glances, seemingly prepared for this.
Mirai stepped forward with a nervous yet excited smile.
She raised her right hand into a fist, and chakra began to gather.
It was not an enormous amount of chakra.
What caught Chiya’s attention was the way it condensed and the signs of its impending release.
It was unmistakably Tsunade’s Monstrous Strength technique.
However, just as her fist was about to reach its peak, her wrist rotated slightly at an extremely precise angle, causing the chakra’s point of release to suddenly disperse.
The pure destructive force transformed into a force that was both soft and firm, gently pushing a boulder beside her away from its original position instead of smashing it.
“Mom taught me Monstrous Strength, but I added some of my own ideas.”
Mirai grinned.
“She said I couldn’t control my strength properly when I was little and broke a lot of things. Later, I figured this out myself. I call it Gentle Fist, Monstrous Strength Push Hand. I mainly use it to move furniture around the house without getting scolded by Mom.”
Chiya’s pupils contracted slightly.
This was a detail that no outsider could possibly know.
Tsunade had mentioned only two days ago that her daughter was stronger than ordinary people.
The concept behind this Gentle Fist, Monstrous Strength Push Hand cleverly combined hard force with soft power while carrying faint traces of the Uchiha Clan’s taijutsu.
It was indeed something this mischievous girl could have come up with.
Chimi said nothing.
She merely slowly raised her fair right hand, palm facing upward.
There were no hand seals and no violent chakra fluctuations.
Yet within the vision of Chiya’s Rinnegan, he saw something astonishing.
The barely perceptible dust particles in the air, the water molecules, and even the tiniest particles within Natural Energy were all arranged and combined in perfect order above her palm.
In an instant, they condensed into an incredibly complex and lifelike crystal ice rose.
Its petals were as thin as cicada wings, with clearly visible veins that reflected a dreamlike glow beneath the moonlight.
Ice Release?
No, this was not ordinary Ice Release.
It was precise manipulation at the level of material particles, an ability that surpassed an ordinary Kekkei Genkai and approached the level of manipulating the rules themselves.
Chiya immediately remembered Mikoto once mentioning with concern that Chimi could unconsciously peel fruit and had even begun affecting tiny objects.
What he was seeing now was undoubtedly that ability after developing to an extremely advanced level.
“Father.”
Chimi spoke softly as she offered the crystal ice rose to Chiya.
“Mother said you like the tea she makes the most, especially when you drink it with the first plum blossoms blooming in the courtyard. Does this flower look like one?”
Chiya silently looked at the ice rose before looking at the two girls’ eyes, where there was no trace of falsehood, only longing and anticipation.
The undeniable facts and the resonance from deep within his bloodline finally shattered his last doubts.
He slowly reached out and accepted the cold rose, which somehow contained a strange warmth.
The moment his fingertips touched it, he could sense the exquisite energy control within it.
This was something no outsider could possibly imitate.
He took a deep breath, as if trying to digest the absurdity of everything that had happened.
When his gaze fell upon Mirai and Chimi again, the sharpness in his eyes finally softened, replaced by an unprecedented and complicated emotion.
“I… believe you.”
There was a faint dryness in Chiya’s voice.
“But Mirai… what exactly happened? How did you…”
“Hehe, that’s a long story, Father!”
After Chiya acknowledged them, Mirai immediately became lively again.
She stepped forward as if she wanted to take his arm, but stopped awkwardly before actually doing so.
“It was Chimi! I don’t know what happened, but she was studying a super complicated little device at home when she triggered its technique formula, and the two of us accidentally got sucked into it! When we opened our eyes, we were already here!”
Chimi nodded and added, “Yes, Father. The space time point where we came from seems to have overlapped with this era in some way. I am still analyzing the exact principle, but one thing is certain. Our arrival was accidental, and… it may not be possible for us to remain here for long.”
Chiya frowned slightly.
Space time techniques involved forbidden matters, and even he felt the risks involved.
But why had it happened at home?
Did their home actually contain an object capable of traveling through time and space?
“Let’s go home.”
He made his decision, his voice carrying an unmistakable protective intent.
“This isn’t the place to talk. Your… mothers need to know about this.”
The thought of facing Tsunade and Mikoto, especially explaining the sudden appearance of these two daughters who looked almost exactly like their younger selves, made even Uchiha Chiya feel an unprecedented headache.
…
Uchiha Clan district, Chiya’s residence.
It was already late at night, but the lights in the living room were still on.
Tsunade and Mikoto were sitting together, chatting about the children and trivial matters in the village while waiting for Chiya to return home.
When Chiya opened the door and brought two unfamiliar girls inside, both Tsunade and Mikoto froze.
“Chiya, who are these two?”
Mikoto looked at Mirai and Chimi in confusion.
Their facial features and expressions made her heart inexplicably skip a beat.
Tsunade’s gaze was sharper.
She almost instantly noticed the feeling of blood connection coming from Mirai.
That familiar feeling made her heart tighten.
Chiya took a deep breath and gestured for Mirai and Chimi to step forward.
He looked at Tsunade and Mikoto and spoke as calmly as possible.
“Tsunade, Mikoto… there is something you need to know. They are Mirai and Chimi from more than ten years in the future.”
Silence.
Absolute silence.
Expressions of absurdity and disbelief appeared on Tsunade and Mikoto’s faces at the same time.
“Chiya, you… you’re joking, right?”
Tsunade’s voice trembled slightly as she looked at Mirai as though she were staring at an illusion.
Mikoto, however, kept her eyes fixed on Chimi.
Those calm black eyes and the almost identical contours of her face made Mikoto feel that Chiya’s words might actually be true.
“Mother!”
Mirai was the most impatient of the two.
Seeing the doubt in Tsunade’s eyes, she blurted out without thinking.
“You have a tiny red mole on the left side of your butt! I saw it once when you were taking a bath!”
“Pu!”
The teacup Tsunade had just picked up nearly slipped from her hand.
Her pretty face instantly turned bright red with embarrassment and anger.
“You… What are you talking about?!”
Mirai realized she had misspoken and quickly covered her mouth.
Her own face turned red as she looked toward Chiya and Chimi for help.
Chimi helplessly sighed and stepped forward.
“Mother, that silk scarf embroidered with the family crest that you treasure most was given to you by Grandmother when you were little. You have always kept it inside a sandalwood box at the very bottom of your wardrobe, and you only take it out and gently touch it when you miss Grandmother. There is also a dried wisteria petal inside the box, the first one Father ever gave you.”
Mikoto’s pupils suddenly contracted.
Her body swayed slightly as she instinctively covered her chest.
That box.
That petal.
They were the most private and tender memories hidden deep within her heart.
Even Chiya might not know them in such detail.
Tsunade and Mikoto exchanged a glance, both seeing shock and uncertainty in each other’s eyes.
Those details were far too private for an outsider to have discovered.
Chiya then explained what had happened on Hokage Rock.
“Their abilities, Mirai’s strength, Chimi’s microscopic manipulation… all of them are closely connected to you and to us. I believe what they are saying.”
Tsunade walked over to Mirai and carefully examined her.
She raised her hand as though she wanted to touch her cheek, but stopped halfway.
Mirai took Tsunade’s hand herself and pressed it against her cheek.
Her eyes filled with tears as she called out with deep affection.
“Mom…”
That single word completely shattered the last barrier in Tsunade’s heart.
Feeling the future within Mirai’s palm that came from the same source as her own, and seeing the pure attachment in her eyes, Tsunade’s maternal instinct across time and space was instantly awakened.
She suddenly pulled Mirai tightly into her arms.
“You… You really are… my little Mirai?”
On the other side, Mikoto was already crying.
She pulled the quiet Chimi, whose eyes were also slightly red, into her arms.
“Chimi… my Chimi…”
She stroked Chimi’s long hair, feeling the stirring connection of their bloodline.
Chiya watched this dramatic yet heartwarming scene with complicated emotions in his heart.
He quietly left the living room, leaving the space to the mothers and daughters who had reunited across time and space.
After a while, Tsunade and Mikoto had calmed down enough to bring Mirai and Chimi into Chiya’s study.
The atmosphere still carried traces of sadness and excitement.
“So… you really came here from the future?”
Tsunade held Mirai’s hand, still finding it difficult to believe.
“Yes!”
Mirai nodded firmly.
“We don’t know how long we can stay, but being able to meet our father and mother from the past, and Mother Mikoto, makes us really happy!”
Mikoto gently held Chimi close and asked, “Then… are we doing well in the future?”
Chimi nodded lightly, her voice gentle.
“Both of you are doing very well, Mother. It’s just that… Father…”
She hesitated and glanced at Chiya.
Chiya’s heart stirred, and he gestured for her to continue.
Mirai’s mood also became more subdued as she spoke softly.
“Father later entered an alternate space passage inside the Era Tree… He hasn’t returned for almost a year. We… we really miss him.”
The atmosphere in the study instantly became heavy.
Tsunade and Mikoto’s faces turned pale as they tightly held their daughters’ hands.
Chiya’s gaze became sharp.
“An alternate space passage? What exactly happened?”
Mirai and Chimi shook their heads at the same time.
“We… aren’t really sure either.”
“I remember Father once said something about the world on the other side of the passage. It seemed to be a Warring States era where demons and monsters were everywhere, and there were shrine maidens and things like that…”
Chimi frowned slightly.
“That’s all I know.”
Chiya fell silent for a moment.
Demons?
Shrine maidens?
A Warring States era?
He looked at the two girls, who were clearly confused themselves, and did not ask anything further.
Instead, he changed the subject.
“Then what do you know about awakening Aunt Kaguya’s consciousness?”
This was one of the questions that concerned him most at present.
Mirai and Chimi exchanged another glance.
This time, Chimi spoke first.
Her voice carried a faint, ethereal resonance, as though she were reciting some kind of prophecy.
“The will in the darkness is both the key and the shackles.”
Chiya’s eyes narrowed.
“The will in the darkness… Black Zetsu?”
Chimi nodded, then shook her head.
“It is him, but not only him. That will is the key to awakening, but it may also be the source of the restraints. How to use Black Zetsu is something you must decide for yourself, Father.”
Chiya silently memorized those words.
Black Zetsu was indeed a key factor, confirming part of his earlier speculation.
However, the meaning of the restraints required caution.
At that moment, perhaps wanting to break the heavy atmosphere, Mirai became lively again and began chattering about various interesting things from the future.
She talked about how Chimi used her abilities to help Mikoto tend the garden, and how she herself had accidentally torn apart the training ground and then been scolded by Tsunade.
Tsunade and Mikoto listened with expressions that alternated between amusement and heartache.
The atmosphere in the study finally became warm again.
Chiya watched the scene quietly.
He looked at the two daughters who had suddenly appeared, and at the natural affection flowing between them and Tsunade and Mikoto.
A strange sense of responsibility and warmth began to grow within his heart.
Protecting them.
Finding out the truth.
Preventing that future in which he had never returned.
Those thoughts became extraordinarily clear.
He, Uchiha Chiya, truly began trying to take on the role of a father at this moment.
