Naruto: The Ridiculously Talented Uzumaki
Chapter 494: Conversation with Jiraiya
When the Seventh Hokage Naruto, Tsunade, and Jiraiya met up with Hinata, who had gone ahead to receive them, and arrived together at the Hyuga Clan residence, a rather peculiar scene met their eyes.
In the spacious living room, on the soft carpet, Boruto and Sarada were huddled together, intently studying a scroll spread out before them.
The two discussed in low voices from time to time, gesturing at the scroll with their fingers, their expressions focused; they were clearly delving into something important.
On the other side, Kawaki was sitting cross-legged on the carpet in front of a huge LCD screen, clutching a controller tightly. His face, usually cold and stern, was flushed bright red, and tiny beads of sweat were visible on his forehead.
He pursed his lips tightly, eyes fixed intently on the screen, his fingers pressing rapidly on the controller; he was clearly immersed in an intense game.
And Otohime, sitting to his right, was completely different.
She sat cross-legged on the sofa with her bare feet, holding a controller as well, but her movements appeared effortless, even somewhat indifferent.
Her pair of golden-silver Rinnegan eyes weren’t even fully focused on the screen, a smug smile hanging on the corners of her mouth, and from time to time, she emitted scornful sounds like "Hmph" or "Is that all?".
The battle was clearly one-sided; Kawaki was completely suppressed.
And this young man was clearly already extremely overheated.
Hanabi was sitting on a sofa a little further away, with her cute niece Himawari in her lap, holding Little Hinata in her left arm and Little Hanabi in her right.
With a gentle smile on her face, she was softly telling stories to the three little girls or answering their questions, perfectly embodying the demeanor of a kind, affectionate big sister taking care of her younger siblings.
For a moment, one didn’t know who to envy.
What surprised them the most, however, was the tempting aroma of food wafting from the kitchen, and the figure of the blonde-haired, blue-eyed young man wearing an apron and busy in the kitchen.
He handled the ingredients with practiced ease, tossing the pan, stir-frying, and seasoning, all in one fluid motion.
The afterglow of the setting sun shone through the window onto him, casting a golden halo around him.
His face wore a focused and peaceful expression, his mouth slightly upturned, as if he were thoroughly enjoying the cooking process.
Sunny, cheerful, and full of vitality—this was the first impression Young Naruto made on Tsunade and Jiraiya.
"You’ve arrived."
Young Naruto heard the commotion at the door and said without turning his head, his voice clear and bright.
He turned off the stove, plated the last dish, and only then turned around, wiped his hands on his apron, and looked toward the door.
When his gaze swept over Tsunade and Jiraiya, he nodded at them.
"Oh? Senior Jiraiya, and Senior Tsunade have come as well. Welcome."
Hearing the "Naruto" before him address him as "Senior Jiraiya," Jiraiya understood immediately.
It seemed that in that world, he was not the Master of this young Hokage before him.
This slightly distant yet respectful form of address confirmed this point.
"Ah, truly young and promising!"
Jiraiya quickly adjusted his mindset, a smile of boldness and appreciation appearing on his face, and with a familiar air, he and Tsunade walked into the kitchen to greet Young Naruto.
He looked Young Naruto up and down, becoming more surprised the more he looked.
So young, yet already the shadow of a village, and having even unified the Ninja World?
"I really want to know, is the me in your world very impressive too?"
Jiraiya asked, half out of curiosity and half out of anticipation.
He really wanted to know what kind of life path he had taken in another space-time, having not become the teacher of the young man before him.
"Hmm, very impressive."
Young Naruto nodded, his tone affirmative.
"The Senior Jiraiya of my world, after the Chunin Exams ended, was recommended by the Third Hokage and, with the approval of the Daimyo and the residents of Hidden Leaf Village, became the Fifth Hokage."
Although he had retired early after being sidelined by him, that was also what the Jiraiya of his own world had desired in his heart.
He had never wanted to be the Fifth Hokage from the beginning; it had already been difficult enough for him to resign after serving as Hokage for a while.
"Fifth Hokage?"
Jiraiya and Tsunade both revealed expressions of surprise simultaneously.
Especially Tsunade, whose eyes flashed with a hint of complexity.
The Jiraiya of another world had actually become the Hokage?
Then what about her?
"However, I didn’t have much interaction with the Fifth Hokage, and I don’t know him very well."
Young Naruto added, his tone flat, as if he were talking about something that had little to do with him.
"Not long after I became a Ninja, I left Hidden Leaf Village due to some matters. After I returned, because I didn’t want him to bear the infamy of starting a war, I convened the Five Kage Summit and became the Sixth Hokage."
The Five Kage Summit in Young Naruto’s words did not refer to a meeting of the Kage from five nations, but rather a small meeting he held with the First, Second, Third, Fourth, and Fifth Hokage.
"In other words, you declared the start of the Ninja World War at the Five Kage Summit?"
"You could say that."
Jiraiya rubbed his chin, then asked again: "Then who is your teacher?"
"I didn’t formally take a Master."
Young Naruto shook his head, "However, my Jonin instructor was Kakashi-sensei. Under his guidance, I also learned many things."
"Kakashi?" Jiraiya looked surprised. He naturally recognized Kakashi’s strength and teaching level; the moniker of Copy Ninja was not earned for nothing.
However, according to the information the Seventh Hokage had revealed to him on the way, the powerful Ninjutsu used by this young Sixth Hokage before him didn’t seem to have any relation to Kakashi’s Ninjutsu system at all!
"Then those Ninjutsu of yours..."
Jiraiya couldn’t help but press, "Who did you learn them all from?"
"Those, huh..."
Young Naruto smiled, his smile carrying a hint of humility, but his eyes were calm and waveless.
"Most of them I fumbled through on my own, or they were spoils of war obtained from enemies; they are not worth mentioning."
Fumbled through? Not worth mentioning?
Tsunade, listening from the side, couldn’t help but curl her lip, silently complaining to herself: Wood Release is not worth mentioning? Then what else in the Ninja World could catch your eye?
Although she had never seen her grandfather unleash his power, the might of the First Hokage Hashirama Senju’s Wood Release was a power capable of pacifying the chaotic world, known as the "God of Shinobi".
The young man before her, nonchalantly saying it was "not worth mentioning," was either overly modest about his own abilities, or his horizons had already reached a level unimaginable to ordinary people.
Young Naruto didn’t seem to notice Tsunade’s expression, or perhaps he didn’t care.
He untied his apron and called out: "The meal is ready. Let’s eat first. We can talk while we eat."
The aroma of the food permeated the air, mixing with the sounds of the game in the living room, the whispers of discussion, and the light laughter of the little girls, forming a strange yet warm scene of a cross-space-time family dinner.
Jiraiya watched Young Naruto, who was busy serving dishes and setting the table, then looked at Kawaki, who was flushed red but refused to admit defeat, Boruto and Sarada, who were studying earnestly, Hanabi, who was gently taking care of the children, and the Seventh Hokage and Hinata, who were standing at the door looking at all of this with gentle smiles in their eyes...
He suddenly felt that although this young man from another world was incredibly powerful and seemed to hide many secrets, at least at this moment, he was so natural and peaceful.
Perhaps, things were not as complicated as the Seventh Hokage worried?
Jiraiya thought to himself.
But immediately, he shook his head. As a veteran Ninja who had experienced countless storms, he knew very well.
Beneath the surface calm, there are often undercurrents surging.
However, being able to come back and marry Tsunade, and also see Naruto’s children, he was already very satisfied.
