Chapter 591 - 416: Just the First Encounter
Guerrero was wary of the Buddha Country, a fear that ran bone-deep.
This wariness was like the Sword of Damocles hanging over his head, keeping him in constant suspense.
So, when he decided to go to the Buddha Country, he didn’t hesitate for a moment.
He decisively used a Forbidden Technique of the Bright Holy See to create a Light Avatar.
He didn’t dare let his real body rashly set foot in the lands of the Buddha Country.
After all, the Bright Holy See and the Buddha Country had little contact over the years, like two parallel lines that almost never intersected.
Guerrero had no clue about the Buddha Country’s way of doing things.
It felt like fumbling in the dark, completely lost.
He knew full well that once he stepped into the Buddha Country’s territory, it would be like a sheep entering a tiger’s den.
If the people of the Buddha Country suddenly attacked, he would be in enemy territory with almost no power to fight back.
Recalling the encounter on the Black Continent Grassland, Guerrero still felt a lingering fear.
At that time, the immense power displayed by Abbot Tonghua and Ming Chan
had shown him just how unfathomable the Buddha Country was.
Every single one of their moves contained a chilling power.
Now, this was the home turf of Abbot Tonghua and Ming Chan.
Who knew how many other unknown experts were lurking in the shadows?
Due to all these concerns, Guerrero had chosen to come as an avatar, probing cautiously.
Now that the avatar had successfully completed its mission, Guerrero felt no attachment. He acted decisively, muttered an incantation, and used a Secret Technique to dispel the avatar.
In an instant, the avatar, formed from pure Power of Light, dissolved into countless shimmering motes of light, dispersing into the air like dust. His consciousness swiftly withdrew along with it, leaving the Buddha Country completely.
Abbot Tonghua saw all of this. In response to Guerrero’s extreme caution, the corners of his mouth merely quirked up into a faint, detached smile.
The smile seemed to hold a hint of contempt for Guerrero, yet also a sense of insight into the ways of the world.
Then, he slowly raised his head, his gaze falling upon the giant, solid gold Buddha statue before him.
The statue was over ten meters tall, standing in the magnificent, imposing hall like a towering mountain peak, exuding an awe-inspiring presence.
Strangely, the Buddha statue had no distinct face. At first glance, it looked like nothing more than a huge golden sculpture.
Only by calming one’s mind and staring intently for a long time could one faintly make out the extremely shallow marks on its golden face,
discerning only the vague outlines of features, as if its face had been gradually worn away by the sands of time.
Abbot Tonghua gazed at the Buddha statue, a fervent light gradually welling up in his eyes. The heat slowly spread from their depths, as if about to set his entire being ablaze.
Within his gaze, there was piety, reverence, and even more so, boundless hope for the future.
...
On the turbulent seas of the Great Xia Empire, fierce winds howled. The waves, like savage beasts, crashed wildly against the ocean’s surface, stirring up monstrous swells.
Beckett’s expression was as dark as the sky before a storm. He stood coldly at the ship’s bow, staring intently at Xiao Yu, Nanting Snow, and Lin Zuoguang before him.
His gaze was so bone-chillingly cold it could freeze the very air around him.
Beckett snorted, a flash of disbelief in his eyes. "I never expected you three little brats to recover so quickly from my powerful techniques.
I thought you were about to fall into this endless sea and become food for the fishes, but you miraculously bounced back and are now standing firm in the sky, confronting me once more."
He narrowed his eyes slightly.
Beckett had already lost his patience. He was burdened with an important mission from the Bright Holy See.
How could he let these three upstarts stand in his way?
If he were truly stopped by them, then he, Beckett, would become a laughingstock in the Bright Holy See and the entire Western World,
ridiculed by all.
"You’re next."
Beckett spoke coldly, his voice low and frigid, as if it had come from the Nine Netherworld Hell.
The moment his voice fell, a huge, heavy door on the largest ship slowly opened,
making a dull RUMBLE, like the roar of an ancient beast.
As the door slowly swung open, three figures clad in Knight Armor emerged.
They wore exquisitely crafted Knight’s Helmets that completely concealed their faces, making their expressions impossible to see.
The three of them rode sturdy white warhorses, which were likewise clad in heavy, Western-style armor. Every piece was intricately carved, protecting the steeds so thoroughly that not a single gap remained.
Whether it was the pure white armor on the knights or the Armor worn by their white steeds, all of it was engraved with the unique, exclusive patterns of the Bright Holy See.
These patterns were intricate and beautiful, like mystical Runes, and they exuded a mysterious and majestic aura. They gave the knights an oppressive presence, yet also a classic Western elegance and flair.
They were like three Holy Knights from ancient legends, slowly stepping onto the battlefield with an inviolable air.
The three mysterious knights emanated a murderous aura. Each of them firmly gripped a long, Silver Long Spear.
The spears were of extraordinary quality. Under the full blaze of the sun, they reflected bone-chilling glints of light, like the sharpest blades of ice in the dead of winter. A single glance was enough to send a shiver down one’s spine.
The sheen seemed to be alive, darting freely along the shaft before converging into a cold point at the tip, emitting a terrifying aura.
