Chapter 596 - 418: Tota Arhat’s Seven-Layered Pagoda
A cold sneer graced Yumizakura’s stunningly beautiful face.
As a member of the Nine-tailed Demon Fox clan, her innate nobility and pride made her scoff at the words of the young monk, Ming Chan. "You think you can make us all retreat? That’s absolutely impossible with just a few simple words from a little monk like you.
"After all, the words of you bald-headed asses are never reliable."
Ming Chan showed no sign of anger. His face was as calm as still water, and he understood every ounce of Yumizakura’s hostility.
He nodded gently and said in a placid tone, "You’re not wrong. It’s impossible for me to earn your complete trust with just a few simple words. If I were in your shoes, I would probably feel the same. But I will now show you through my actions that I can be trusted."
With that, he turned, his gaze fixed on the distant jungle.
His profound eyes pierced through the layers of branches and leaves, perceiving the imminent crisis.
Soon, the sound of steady footsteps echoed from not far away, causing the very earth to tremble.
Gatekeeper Arhat and Subduing Tiger Arhat arrived, striding forward with more than a dozen other Martial Monks. They wore simple monastic robes, but that couldn’t conceal the powerful Martial Arts aura emanating from them.
Every step they took seemed to land with immense force, making the very air around them vibrate.
Alongside them was Archbishop Guerrero of the Bright Holy See.
Guerrero was dressed in a magnificent white robe, its golden patterns glittering with a sacred light under the sun.
A divine Light Attribute Power permeated the air around him, making him resemble a walking sun, its radiance blinding.
On the other side, Xia Chengli stood beside Yumizakura and Ming Chan.
Yumizakura, a member of the Nine-tailed Demon Fox clan, possessed unparalleled talent and divine powers.
At that moment, demonic energy surged around her as nine enormous fox tails danced wantonly behind her, each one containing world-destroying power.
She tilted her head back and let out a long, piercing fox cry. The sound spread out like tangible ripples, snapping trees and kicking up dust wherever it passed.
Seeing this, Ming Chan swiftly formed a Sealing Technique with his hands, muttering something under his breath.
In an instant, a soft, golden Buddha’s Light emanated from his body. It seemed to resonate with Yumizakura’s demonic energy, yet the two did not clash.
The Buddha’s Light was like warm sunshine, illuminating the surrounding darkness and creating a sense of peace and tranquility—a stark contrast to the wild, powerful demonic energy of Yumizakura.
Xia Chengli, for her part, took a deep breath, concentrating her Martial Arts Power in her palm.
A faint blue light appeared in her palm, glowing like flowing lake water—calm on the surface, but containing endless energy within.
Her gaze became incredibly sharp as she stared intently at the enemy before her, ready to attack at any moment.
"So you are here after all."
Gatekeeper Arhat spoke, his eyes falling upon Golden Cicada.
The young monk merely pressed his lips together and did not answer.
Gatekeeper Arhat was the first to strike. His body moved like lightning, and in an instant, he was in front of Xia Chengli.
His palm, as large as a cattail fan, whistled through the air as it descended upon the crown of her head.
The force behind the blow was enough to shatter mountains and split rocks; if it landed, the consequences would be unthinkable.
But Xia Chengli was unruffled. With a quick sidestep, she deftly dodged Gatekeeper Arhat’s attack.
At the same time, she transformed the Martial Arts Power gathered in her palm into a beam of blue Sword Qi and thrust it toward Gatekeeper Arhat’s chest.
Seeing this, Gatekeeper Arhat quickly retracted his hand and spun it rapidly in front of him, forming a solid defensive barrier.
The Sword Qi struck the barrier, letting out a piercing sound and sending countless sparks flying.
A massive burst of lightning erupted from Xia Chengli’s body, and a powerful electrical current filled the surrounding space. She clashed with Gatekeeper Arhat, but from the very first exchange, he found himself completely suppressed.
Not to be outdone, Subduing Tiger Arhat let out a great roar as a formidable tiger’s might surged around him.
His body instantly swelled to several times its size, transforming into a gigantic, multicolored tiger that pounced toward Yumizakura.
Yumizakura sneered, her nine fox tails dancing in unison. Each tail transformed into a sharp black blade that slashed toward Subduing Tiger Arhat.
The blades and the tiger’s claws collided, producing the ringing sound of metal on metal.
Subduing Tiger Arhat’s claws were incredibly hard, yet Yumizakura’s bladed tails still managed to cut deep gashes into them.
The other Martial Monks also joined the battle, each one unleashing their ultimate techniques.
For a time, the flashes of blades and the glow of Magic intertwined, turning the edge of this jungle into a battlefield. Some Martial Monks brandished their Zen Staffs, each strike carrying immense force.
Others used Qinggong to weave effortlessly through the air, constantly launching sneak attacks against their foes.
Archbishop Guerrero of the Bright Holy See stood to the side, chanting a mysterious Spell.
A Bible emitting a golden glow appeared in his hands. The words on its pages seemed to come to life, floating into the air and converging into a massive Light Saber.
The Light Saber, shining with a sacred light, shot toward Ming Chan.
Ming Chan pressed his palms together, and a golden Buddha Shield materialized before him.
The Light Saber struck the Buddha Shield, producing a dazzling flash of light. The shield trembled slightly but still held firm, blocking the attack.
Yumizakura saw her chance and unleashed her Talent Divine Power: Enchanting Eyes.
Her eyes glittered with a strange light, a light that was like an invisible force,
which surged toward Gatekeeper Arhat, Subduing Tiger Arhat, and the others.
The Martial Monks enveloped by the light instantly grew dazed, their eyes glazing over as they fell into an endless Illusion Realm.
Their movements became sluggish, and their once-fierce attacks turned limp and powerless.
