Chapter 597 - 418: Tota Arhat’s Seven-Layered Pagoda (Part 2)
Xia Chengli seized the opportunity, pushing her Martial Arts Power to its absolute limit.
A halo of blue light appeared around her body. She transformed into a blue meteor, streaking toward the Subduing Tiger Arhat.
A longsword coalesced in her hand, formed from Martial Arts Power. The blade glinted with a cold light as she thrust it toward the Subduing Tiger Arhat’s vital points, her momentum unstoppable.
The Subduing Tiger Arhat struggled within the Illusion Realm. He tried to dodge the fatal blow but found his body wouldn’t obey his commands.
Just as the longsword was about to pierce his body, Guerrero sensed the danger.
He quickly broke off his Spell, and the Bible in his hand transformed into a golden streak that shot toward Xia Chengli.
The golden light struck Xia Chengli’s longsword, shattering it into pieces.
The force of the impact sent Xia Chengli flying backward, a spray of blood erupting from her mouth.
Seeing Xia Chengli injured, Yumizakura was enraged.
She unfurled all nine of her fox tails and unleashed the full power of her ultimate ability, Demon Fox’s World Destruction.
Instantly, the sky filled with dark clouds. Black demonic energy, like a surging tidal wave, swept toward their enemies.
Wherever the demonic energy passed, trees turned to ash in an instant, and massive fissures tore through the ground.
The Gatekeeper Arhat, the Subduing Tiger Arhat, and the others sensed an unprecedented crisis. They quickly gathered together and cast their strongest Defense Magic.
Guerrero once again raised the Bible in his hands, chanting an even more obscure and complex Spell.
A thick, golden Light Shield appeared around his body. The shield was covered in mysterious Runes and radiated a potent Sacred Power.
The golden Light Shield collided with Yumizakura’s demonic energy, producing a deafening, earth-shattering BOOM.
The entire world seemed to tremble from the force of the impact, and the resulting flash of light illuminated the whole jungle.
Ming Chan knew he couldn’t just stand by and watch. He mobilized all the Buddha’s Light in his body, condensing it into a massive Golden Lotus.
The Golden Lotus spun slowly, emitting a gentle yet powerful force.
Ming Chan pushed the Golden Lotus into the space between Yumizakura’s demonic energy and the enemy’s defenses, attempting to relieve some of the pressure on her.
The Golden Lotus mingled with the demonic energy and the Light Shield, creating a strange equilibrium.
Just as the two sides were locked in a stalemate, the situation suddenly changed.
Deep within the jungle, the silence was broken by the sound of steady footsteps.
Everyone turned toward the sound and saw a tall Arhat walking out slowly.
His face was solemn and dignified, his eyes deep and reserved. In his hand, he steadily held a Seven-Layered Pagoda.
Under the sunlight, the Pagoda shimmered with a seven-colored, crystalline glow. Each ray of light contained an endless, mystical power.
The moment he saw this Arhat, even the ever-composed Ming Chan’s expression changed drastically.
His voice trembled slightly with a mix of shock and helplessness as he said, "This is the Tota Arhat. He ranks fourth among the Eighteen Arhats. His power is extraordinary."
At this moment, Ming Chan understood perfectly. The Eighteen Arhats were the Buddha Country’s top fighting force. Ever since the vast Empire had been completely transformed into the Buddha Country, they had received an unimaginable boost from the Power of Faith, and their strength had surged to a terrifying level.
He thought to himself, ’Abbot Tonghua must have anticipated my actions and secretly dispatched this incredibly strong Tota Arhat. If I hadn’t shown up with my companions, the Tota Arhat hiding in the shadows would never have revealed himself.’
The Tota Arhat said nothing. He simply opened his palm slowly.
In that instant, the Seven-Layered Pagoda in his hand shot into the sky like an arrow released from a bow, accompanied by a whistling wind.
The Pagoda rose higher and higher, spinning rapidly in mid-air. The seven-colored crystalline light from its body grew increasingly dazzling, like a sun bursting with seven different colors, completely enveloping the entire area.
The seven-colored radiances intertwined, weaving together and becoming as thick as ink. It was as if a viscous, freshly mixed palette of paint had been poured into this space.
This light quickly solidified in the air, forming an invisible yet indestructible barrier.
"The Buddha said: ’Know this, all living beings have been bound to the cycle of life and death since time immemorial. This is because you fail to recognize your true, permanent, and pure mind. You cling to delusion, and because these thoughts are not real, you are condemned to turn upon the wheel of rebirth.’"
"’All that arises is impermanent, a law of birth and death. When birth and death are themselves extinguished, that silence is bliss. This is the deep meaning of the Buddhist Scriptures.’"
As the Pagoda’s light enveloped them, countless golden scripture verses appeared and disappeared within the radiance, swimming like agile fish.
The verses shimmered with a faint light, as if countless devout monks were chanting in unison. Their low, solemn voices echoed through the space, carrying a power that made one’s very soul tremble.
Caught in this sudden change, Xia Chengli felt an immense pressure closing in from all directions, as if countless invisible hands were binding her body tightly.
She tried to channel her internal Martial Arts Power, only to find it incredibly difficult to circulate. Every wisp of power she tried to move felt like struggling through thick mud.
Her face turned deathly pale, and beads of sweat rolled down her forehead. She looked at Ming Chan, her eyes filled with anxiety and confusion. "What... what in the world is happening? Why is this power so bizarre!"
Yumizakura felt an unprecedented pressure as well. Her nine tails, once nimble and free, now felt as if they were bound by heavy chains, able to do little more than twitch.
A flash of fear crossed her eyes, but it was quickly replaced by indignation. She gritted her teeth and snarled, "This damn Pagoda, what the hell is this thing?! Are we really going to fall here today?"
