Chapter 598 - 418: Tota Arhat’s Seven-Layered Pagoda

Ming Chan squeezed his eyes shut, trying to resist the oppressive force with his profound Buddhist Cultivation.

His hands flew through a sealing technique as he chanted under his breath. A faint, golden Buddha’s Light emanated from his body, but it looked dim and fragile before the Pagoda’s immense power.

He slowly opened his eyes, which were filled with helplessness. "This is the Seven-Layered Pagoda of the Tota Arhat. The power it contains is far beyond what we can hope to resist.

This light doesn’t just suppress our movements—it also agitates our minds and saps our strength. It looks like our chances of surviving this battle are slim."

Meanwhile, the others on the battlefield were also in dire straits.

Some of the companions who had been fighting alongside Xia Chengli and Yumizakura were forced to one knee by the light, their weapons feeling as if they weighed a thousand pounds.

Others clutched their heads and groaned in agony, their minds clearly in turmoil from the scripture that kept appearing before their eyes.

The Tota Arhat stood aside, watching everything unfold in silence, his face devoid of expression. His gaze was cold, as if the people before him were nothing more than insignificant ants.

He began to speak, his voice low yet sonorous, echoing through the space like a great bell. "All is illusion. Your struggles are futile. Let go of your attachments and enter the Buddhist Sect. That is the only path to liberation."

Hearing this, Yumizakura laughed in fury. "Liberation? You old bald donkey, what right do you have to decide our fate?! You want us to surrender? In your dreams!"

She gathered all her strength and lashed out with her nine fox tails, trying to shatter the binding light. But the moment her power touched the radiance, it vanished without a trace, like a stone dropped into the ocean.

Not to be outdone, Xia Chengli gritted her teeth. She fought through the discomfort wracking her body, gathering what little Martial Arts Power she had left into her fists.

Her fists trembled slightly, and the very air around them seemed to warp from the force.

With a great cry, she charged toward the Tota Arhat, but her feet felt as if they were nailed to the ground. Every step was an immense struggle.

Seeing this, the Tota Arhat shook his head slightly, a flicker of disdain in his eyes.

He casually raised a hand and flicked it in Xia Chengli’s direction. An invisible force sent her flying.

Xia Chengli crashed heavily to the ground, spitting out a mouthful of blood, but her eyes still shone with an unyielding light.

Ming Chan surveyed the tragic scene, his heart filled with sorrow.

’In our current state,’ he thought, ’defeating the Tota Arhat is almost impossible.’

But the conviction in his heart had not faded. He prayed silently, hoping for some twist of fate.

Just as everyone was sinking into despair, a low rumble suddenly echoed from the sky.

They all looked up to see dark clouds gathering rapidly, a strange purple light flickering within them.

The light grew brighter and brighter, as if something terrible was about to descend.

The Tota Arhat’s expression changed slightly. He watched the sky warily, and the light from the Pagoda in his hand intensified, as if to guard against something.

The mysterious power did not descend as everyone had expected.

A few moments later, the dark clouds gradually dispersed, and everything returned to calm.

But this brief anomaly had given them a sliver of hope.

Xia Chengli struggled to her feet. She looked at Ming Chan and Yumizakura, a determined glint in her eyes. "No matter what, we can’t just give up. Even if there’s only a sliver of a chance, we have to fight to the bitter end!"

Yumizakura nodded, the fighting spirit rekindled in her eyes. "That’s right! The worst that can happen is death. I won’t be beaten by that old bald donkey so easily!"

Ming Chan took a deep breath and once again roused the power within him. Though the Buddha’s Light around him was faint, it now burned with greater intensity.

In this final moment, they all unleashed the last of their strength.

They ignored their injuries and the immense oppressive force, charging toward the Tota Arhat.

However, the light from the Tota Arhat’s Seven-Layered Pagoda shone as brightly as ever, and their attacks were powerless against it.

As time wore on, their strength gradually drained away, and their bodies grew weaker and weaker.

In the end, they fell to the ground one by one, with no strength left to rise.

The Tota Arhat gazed at the fallen crowd and slowly retracted the Seven-Layered Pagoda.

He turned and left, leaving behind nothing but a ravaged battlefield and the defeated lying on the ground.

The battle ended in the utter defeat of Ming Chan, Xia Chengli, and Yumizakura...
