Chapter 599 - 419: Who Are You to Wreak Havoc Here?
Between the boundless sea and sky, the daytime sun spilled upon the azure waves, which shimmered with a dreamlike radiance.
It should have been a tranquil and magnificent scene.
But now, the surface of the sea was as oppressive as the calm before a storm.
Gao Liceng was like an incarnation of Yellow Paper.
The Yellow Paper, originally used in rituals for the deceased, had gained a soul through her, achieving a kind of fusion with her very being.
Each sheet of Yellow Paper was like an extension of her body. Under the control of her will, it could transform into countless terrifyingly lethal techniques.
Nanting Snow, Xiao Yu, and Lin Zuoguang not only had formidable Martial Arts Power flowing through their bodies but were also blessed with the might of Supreme Divine Power.
This made the three of them like sharp blades, their cutting edges exposed, exuding an awe-inspiring aura.
The three knights were from the Western Bright Holy See.
They emanated a brilliant, dazzling, and flawless Light Attribute Power, as if they were emissaries of light who had descended upon the mortal world.
However, the cold resolution in their eyes revealed they had not come to deliver a gospel of peace, but rather as a prelude to a storm.
The battle erupted in an instant. The three Knights of Light charged forward like lightning.
The long spears in their hands burst with blinding light, like bolts of lightning tearing through the sky.
One of the knights swung his long spear, and a blade of light roared out like a bellowing dragon, hurtling straight for Gao Liceng.
Gao Liceng’s expression was grave. Her hands danced like phantoms.
Countless sheets of Yellow Paper swarmed from her body like a hive of bees, rapidly weaving together in mid-air to form a solid barrier.
The blade of light slammed into the Yellow Paper barrier, erupting with a blinding flash and an earth-shattering BOOM.
The Yellow Paper barrier trembled violently, as if about to collapse under the strain.
But with Gao Liceng maintaining it with all her might, it temporarily withstood the ferocious strike.
Meanwhile, another knight flickered and reappeared before Xiao Yu like a phantom.
The long spear in his hand struck like a viper’s tongue, its gleaming tip aimed straight for Xiao Yu’s throat.
A look of resolve flashed in Xiao Yu’s eyes. The Martial Arts Power and Supreme Divine Power within him erupted in an instant, and a golden light burned like fire upon his fists.
With a great shout, his fists shot out like twin meteors chasing the moon, meeting the long spear head-on.
Fist met spear, and the resulting collision was like a small bomb detonating on the sea’s surface, sending up a splash dozens of yards high.
Xiao Yu’s body slid back slightly, his feet kicking up ripples on the water’s surface.
But there was not a trace of fear in his eyes. Instead, an even stronger fighting spirit blazed within them.
Nanting Snow and Lin Zuoguang also engaged the remaining knights in a life-or-death struggle.
Nanting Snow’s movements were light and graceful. She was like a black phantom weaving effortlessly through an ocean of light.
The longsword in her hand shimmered with a cold, blue light. Each swing left behind a splendid afterimage of the blade as she tried to break through the knight’s defenses.
Lin Zuoguang, meanwhile, relied on his agile movements and exquisite Martial Arts to cleverly weave and dodge around his opponent.
His figure moved like a flood dragon bursting from the sea one moment, then a nimble cat pouncing on a rabbit the next, as he searched for an opportunity to counterattack between the knight’s strikes.
But the Light Attribute Power cultivated by the Knights of Light was simply too strong, and the three of them coordinated with flawless synergy.
Their light intertwined, forming an impenetrable net that gradually enveloped Gao Liceng and the others.
Under the pressure of the net of light, fine cracks began to appear on Gao Liceng’s Yellow Paper barrier.
Rays of light shot through the cracks like sharp arrows.
The attacks from Xiao Yu and the others were like clay oxen sinking into the sea—they vanished without a trace, unable to inflict any substantial damage on the knights.
Seeing this, the three knights pressed their assault even more furiously.
Gao Liceng knew that a purely defensive strategy was not a long-term solution. She had to take the offensive and break this seemingly impossible deadlock.
She shut her eyes, focusing her entire spirit on the sheets of Yellow Paper. Murmuring an incantation, she began to commune with the mysterious power behind them.
The sheets of Yellow Paper, as if their very souls had been ignited, instantly burst into black flames. Carrying a strange and terrifying aura, they lunged toward the Knights of Light like a pack of baring, clawing Demons.
These black flames possessed the power to devour all light. The knights’ expressions shifted slightly as they felt the powerful and sinister aura contained within the dark fire.
One of the knights quickly swung his long spear, attempting to disperse the flames. However, the black fire was like maggots clinging to bone; it wrapped tightly around the spear,
and began to frantically corrode the light enveloping the weapon’s shaft. Wisps of black smoke curled up from the spear.
At the same time, Nanting Snow, Xiao Yu, and Lin Zuoguang keenly sensed Gao Liceng’s intent.
They exchanged a look, their eyes conveying a shared resolve and understanding.
The three of them simultaneously unleashed their strongest Martial Arts. The Supreme Divine Power in their bodies surged forth like a volcanic eruption.
Xiao Yu’s fists became two golden meteors, rushing toward the net of light with world-destroying momentum.
Nanting Snow’s longsword erupted with a dazzling blue light. The light was like a vast ocean, containing endless power, and it struck a weak point in the net of light like a bolt of lightning.
Lin Zuoguang’s figure flashed, weaving between the strands of the light net like a phantom. A dagger glinting with a cold light had appeared in his hand at some point, and he searched for the perfect moment to strike.
Under the combined assault of all four, a flaw finally appeared in the Knights of Light’s net.
Gao Liceng seized the opportunity, directing the black flames to surge into the opening. The fire spread in an instant, burning the net of light until it was riddled with holes.
The knights’ light was greatly weakened, and their assault slowed as a result.
