Chapter 600 - 419: Who Are You? Why Are You Causing Trouble Here?

  • Next Chapter

The heroes seized the opportunity to launch a counterattack.

For a moment, the tide of battle seemed to turn. They had gained the upper hand.

Xiao Yu pressed his advantage, unleashing a flurry of attacks. Each powerful punch forced the knights back.

Nanting Snow’s Sword Techniques grew ever sharper. Her blade became a blur, flickering around the knights and leaving them unable to defend.

Meanwhile, Lin Zuoguang moved like a phantom across the battlefield, striking out with deadly blows when they least expected it.

However, these knights hailed from the formidable Bright Holy See.

They quickly recovered. The three of them regrouped, pushing their Light Attribute Power to its absolute limit.

Light erupted from their bodies, turning them into three miniature suns. The radiance was so dazzling it was impossible to look at them.

They raised their longspears in unison and began chanting a mysterious and ancient Spell.

A colossal pillar of light suddenly materialized in the sky. Like a titanic sword that reached for the heavens, it radiated a heart-stopping aura as it slashed down toward Gao Liceng and the others.

Gao Liceng and the others felt a sense of crisis unlike any they had ever known. The immense power threatened to pulverize their very souls.

They desperately tried to withstand the fatal blow.

Gao Liceng summoned all of their Yellow Paper, forming a massive black shield overhead.

Runes flickered across the shield’s surface.

Xiao Yu, Nanting Snow, and Lin Zuoguang unleashed all of their Martial Arts Power and Supreme Divine Power, merging it into a golden screen of light to oppose the pillar.

The golden screen and the black shield intertwined, emitting a strange radiance.

But the pillar of light’s power was simply too immense, as overwhelming as a tsunami.

Under the pillar’s impact, the black shield and golden screen were like fragile paper, shattering in an instant.

The pillar of light struck Gao Liceng and the others directly. The four of them felt an overwhelming force slam into them, and their bodies were sent flying like kites with their strings cut, plummeting toward the sea below.

Their bodies slammed into the ocean’s surface, sending up massive plumes of water—a tragic symphony played for them by the sea.

Blood poured from their wounds, rapidly staining the surrounding water red. It spread across the surface like blooming, crimson flowers.

Gao Liceng, Nanting Snow, Xiao Yu, and Lin Zuoguang struggled in the water. Their breathing was faint, and their bodies were gravely injured.

They were a pitiful sight, with disheveled hair, tattered clothes, and bodies covered in wounds.

Seawater kept forcing its way into their mouths, making them choke and cough uncontrollably.

Yet, their eyes still held a glimmer of defiance.

Above the vast, boundless ocean, sunlight should have been pouring down generously, making the surface glitter and shine.

At this moment, however, a heavy gloom hung over this stretch of sea. The aftermath of the fierce battle was spreading, chilling one’s heart to the core.

The four of them—Gao Liceng, Nanting Snow, Xiao Yu, and Lin Zuoguang—floated wretchedly on the surface. Salty seawater flooded their mouths and noses, and the sharp pain from their wounds felt like a thousand tiny needles.

’Is this really it? Is this as far as we go?’

The thought surfaced in all four of their minds simultaneously, like a cold Curse, perfectly encapsulating their despair.

These three knights from the Bright Holy See were weaker than Beckett.

And yet, even with the four of them fighting together—a four-on-three advantage—they were still being pushed back, unable to hold their ground in this vicious fight.

The three knights, for their part, were not faring much better. They panted heavily, their chests heaving. Beads of sweat as large as peas rolled down their cheeks, leaving trails on their exquisite armor.

Their internal energy was nearly depleted, like an oil lamp about to flicker out.

Nevertheless, they remained seated steadily upon their handsome, armored white horses.

Though they looked weary, their posture still radiated a calm confidence.

They looked down on Gao Liceng and the others, their gazes a clear declaration that the battle was already won.

This composure was like an invisible mountain, crushing the four of them until they could barely breathe. Despair spread through their hearts like wildfire.

In this suffocating atmosphere of despair, the situation suddenly changed.

A sudden sound came from somewhere in the sky: FLAP FLAP FLAP.

The sound was faint at first but spread quickly like ripples, growing denser and louder, like the prelude to an apocalyptic storm.

Then, a vast, dense murder of crows swept in, blotting out the sky.

Their numbers were unimaginable; they seemed to stretch on without end.

They flocked together, a surging black tide, a massive dark curtain that completely obscured the sky.

The bright sunlight vanished in an instant. The world between sky and sea plunged into darkness, as if day had suddenly become night.

The blood-red eyes of every single crow darted about, glinting with a strange, cold light that concealed endless malice and malevolence.

As the flock drew closer, the air instantly turned bone-chillingly cold, as if plunged into an icehouse.

The sea wind carried a piercing chill that scraped across their faces like a sharp blade.

Every breath felt like inhaling shards of ice, a cold that seeped from the throat down to the very soul.

The sudden change was so swift that even the three battle-hardened, worldly knights of the Bright Holy See couldn’t help but pale.

They subconsciously tightened their grip on their longspears, knuckles turning white as they stared warily at the bizarre "cloud" of crows.

Their bodies were coiled as tight as drawn bowstrings, ready to face any unknown threat.

Gao Liceng and the others were equally wary, their eyes filled with confusion and concern.

A mix of emotions churned within them.

’Where did these crows come from?’

’Are they friend or foe?’

After such a brutal fight, with both sides exhausted, any new variable could be the straw that broke the camel’s back.

The expressions on everyone’s faces were grim.

They had already exhausted their strength in the fight against the knights. If another powerful enemy appeared, they would truly have no hope of escape.

In the suffocating atmosphere, time seemed to freeze.

Everyone stared at the crows, not daring to breathe. Their hearts pounded in their chests, threatening to burst free.

Finally, the murder of crows began to part, like a receding black tide, revealing a figure at its center.

The person was completely enveloped in a wide, black robe, its edges fluttering in the wind. It faintly emanated a mysterious and evil aura.

Their face was hidden in the shadow of a hood, their features completely obscured. One could only feel two cold gazes piercing out from the darkness—gazes that could penetrate one’s very soul and send a chill down the spine.

"Whose side are they on?"

Nanting Snow’s voice trembled slightly, betraying her fear.

In this perilous environment, her voice seemed particularly small.

Xiao Yu frowned, a vein throbbing on his forehead. He clenched his fists, knuckles turning white. "Doesn’t matter who it is," he said. "We can’t just wait here to die."

Lin Zuoguang bit his lip, silently trying to devise a plan.

His eyes betrayed his worry as his mind raced, desperately searching for a way out of this chaotic situation.

The three knights of the Bright Holy See exchanged a look, their eyes equally full of confusion and alarm.

One of the knights, his armor glinting faintly in the gloom, shouted, "Who goes there? Why do you interfere?"

His voice echoed across the water, but he was met with only silence.

The mysterious figure didn’t respond. They just stood silently amidst the crows, like a silent statue, scrutinizing everyone present with a gaze that seemed to be selecting prey.

The atmosphere grew even more tense, like a fully drawn bow about to snap.

Neither side dared to make a move, like two wild beasts in a standoff, watching each other warily.

The arrival of the mysterious figure had made an already complicated situation utterly bewildering, plunging everything into a fog of uncertainty.

Gao Liceng and the others despaired. They had no idea what would happen next.
