Chapter 616 - 425: Don’t You Two Have Anything to Say to Me?

She couldn’t help but look toward the sky as an inexplicable fear rose in her heart. It was as if a pair of invisible eyes was truly watching them, peering coldly through the layers of clouds.

Listening to Chu He’s words, Beckett and Guerrero’s hearts were in turmoil.

Though they remained silent, their minds were racing.

Chu He’s conjectures about the Bright Holy See shocked and worried them.

They knew that if Chu He’s deductions were true, the Bright Holy See’s secrets would be exposed, and they would face an unprecedented crisis.

The atmosphere in the somewhat empty field grew increasingly tense.

A gentle breeze swept through, yet it could not disperse the gloom hanging over them.

Chu He watched Beckett and Guerrero, pondering his next move.

Getting more information from these two Archbishops would be no easy task, but he had no intention of giving up.

"Are you two really not going to say anything?"

Chu He spoke again, his voice laced with an undeniable authority. "The secrets of the Bright Holy See will be revealed sooner or later. Your current silence might just be a stalling tactic, but it won’t change a thing."

Beckett and Guerrero kept their lips sealed, a stubborn glint in their eyes.

In their eyes, even when facing an opponent as powerful as Chu He, they could not easily divulge the secrets of the Bright Holy See.

It was a matter not only of their faith but of the entire Bright Holy See’s survival.

Amaterasu watched all of this quietly from the side, her mind racing with a thousand thoughts.

Having been through so much with Chu He, she now had unwavering faith in his abilities and wisdom.

At that moment, she too was pondering Chu He’s deductions about the Bright Holy See.

If Chu He’s conjectures were correct, then the schemes of the Deities in the Mortal World were far more complex than they had imagined.

"Chu He, you said the Bright Holy See has a Secret Technique to borrow the power of Deities. Why do you think they would do that?"

Amaterasu couldn’t help but ask.

Chu He frowned slightly, pondering for a moment before replying, "Perhaps it’s to uphold the will of the Deities, to monitor mortals’ every move and prevent anyone from breaking the rules they’ve established. Or, they might have their own objectives, using the power of Deities to carry out some unspeakable plans."

As he spoke, Chu He’s gaze fell upon Beckett and Guerrero again. "I believe the truth will come out eventually. Your silence now is just a waste of everyone’s time."

Beckett and Guerrero remained unmoved, standing there as silent as two statues.

Seeing this, Chu He sighed inwardly.

His gaze locked onto Beckett and Guerrero, a sharp glint flashing through his deep-set eyes.

Chu He possessed an extraordinarily keen perception.

At this moment, he could clearly sense that a bizarre and powerful prohibition had been planted deep within the consciousness of both Beckett and Guerrero.

This prohibition was like a deadly mechanism hidden in a dark abyss—dangerous and difficult to handle.

If anyone were to try and use Spiritual Power to probe their minds and search their memories,

the prohibition would instantly trigger, like a detonated bomb, obliterating all information related to the secrets in their minds.

What was even more terrifying was that the prohibition would also unleash a violent backlash against the intruder.

The force of the backlash was like a surging, unstoppable tsunami.

Once caught in it, one would be plunged into a state of absolute doom.

Not only would it be impossible to extract a single shred of information from Beckett and Guerrero’s minds, but the one performing the mental intrusion would also suffer a severe blow.

Meanwhile, Beckett and Guerrero themselves would be utterly annihilated in the chaotic mental storm, their souls scattered to the winds.

’The methods of the Deities are truly impossible to guard against.’

Chu He mused to himself, his brow furrowed and his expression turning grim.

In his experience, anything related to the power and methods of Deities was always filled with endless mystery and the unknown. Every encounter was like challenging a bottomless, dark abyss.

Just as Chu He was contemplating his next move, the sky—once clear, cloudless, and as calm as a lake’s surface—suddenly underwent a dramatic transformation.

Without warning, a massive ball of white light materialized in the very center of the sky.

The light was dazzling, blindingly bright, like a small sun that had suddenly descended upon the Mortal World, unleashing a terrifying, piercing glare.

If one were to force their naked eyes to look directly at it,

the intense light, like a red-hot branding iron, would instantly sear the eyes, causing unbearable pain and an uncontrollable flood of tears, as if one’s eyeballs were about to be melted by the glare.

Then, from within that mesmerizing ball of white light, a straight beam shot out like a bolt of lightning splitting the night sky.

The beam of light was so fast it seemed to tear through the surrounding space, sending out ripples of a pure white halo.

These halos spread outward in circles, much like the ripples on a calm lake after a large stone has been cast into it.

With the speed of a thunderclap, the pillar of light swiftly enveloped Beckett and Guerrero.

The moment Chu He saw this, he understood.

His gaze turned sharp as a hawk’s in an instant.

’This must be a rescue force from the Bright Holy See. They’re trying to snatch Beckett and Guerrero away from me.’

The Bright Holy See,

a colossal power hidden in the shadows of the world, its connections intricate and complex, had always manipulated countless secret events from behind the scenes.

This time, they had clearly sensed that Beckett and Guerrero were in a desperate plight, and so they had expended enormous power to launch this rescue mission.

However, how could Chu He possibly let them succeed so easily?

The corners of his mouth lifted slightly, revealing a confident yet mocking smile, as if ridiculing the Bright Holy See for its audacity.

"That was just a test of my physical body’s limits. You didn’t really think that was all I’m capable of, did you? How utterly ridiculous."

Chu He’s voice was deep and powerful, echoing through the space, carrying an unseen pressure that made the very air tremble.

With that, Chu He took a deep breath, and the aura around him changed astonishingly.

An unquestionable authority emanated from his gaze.

He was the master of this realm, holding the power of life and death in his hands.

"In the domain under my control, I will not permit any interference from the Bright Holy See."

As Chu He’s voice faded,

an ancient and mysterious command began to spread through the realm.

This command, like a mysterious Spell from antiquity, carried with it an irresistible power.

Then, an unseen order of energy in the realm seemed to activate.

This power, like a pair of invisible hands hidden in the depths of darkness, reached directly for the pillar of light from the Bright Holy See.

In the dazed minds of Beckett and Guerrero, a crisp sound suddenly echoed—CRACK!

The sound, like shattering glass, was exceptionally abrupt and piercing in the silence.

The pillar of pure white light that had enveloped Beckett and Guerrero...

...instantly vanished, dissipating like smoke in an invisible gale, leaving not a trace behind.

The joy that had lit up Beckett and Guerrero’s faces at the prospect of rescue instantly froze, replaced by stunned disbelief.

Their eyes widened like saucers, unable to believe what was happening.

They never could have imagined that Chu He possessed such power, enough to effortlessly sever the rescue from the Bright Holy See.

In their minds, the power of the Bright Holy See was immense, almost invincible.

Yet now, before Chu He, the Holy See’s rescue attempt seemed utterly fragile, as flimsy as something made of paper.
