Chapter 43: Chapter 43 - Plans to send him away

The next morning, Jua Gu woke up to the sight of two figures still sitting at the study table.

Ying Di was sitting there with his back straight and his eyes blinking slowly as he continued studying the words on the paper in front of him. As for Ying Mao, the little boy had fallen asleep with his head resting on the table, his arms folded underneath his face.

Jua Gu stared at them for a moment before his brows slowly furrowed.

"Did they sleep like that all night?"

Ying Di was a corpse puppet, so he didn’t need to sleep at all, but Ying Mao was a growing child. He needed proper rest, and sleeping with his head on a hard table all night was definitely not good for him.

Just how long had these two stayed awake?

Jua Gu sat up while rubbing his aching head, his body still feeling a little sore from everything that had happened. Ying Di immediately noticed his movement and stood up before walking over to him.

"Master..."

Jua Gu glanced at him before looking toward the sleeping child.

"When did he fall asleep? Why did you let him sleep there?"

He climbed out of bed and walked over to Ying Mao. Carefully, he bent down and picked the little boy up, making sure not to wake him.

Ying Mao shifted slightly in his sleep but didn’t open his eyes.

Jua Gu carried him over to the bed and gently placed him down before pulling the blanket over him.

Ying Di simply stood nearby, blinking at him with his head tilted slightly to the side.

Jua Gu sighed.

"When you see him, or anyone else, sleeping like that, you have to carry them over to the bed. Don’t just leave them sleeping there."

Ying Di continued staring at him blankly.

Jua Gu adjusted the blanket around Ying Mao’s small body and shook his head.

"How can I expect you to take care of him if you don’t even know something this simple?"

Right then, the door opened and one of the servants stepped inside.

The woman immediately stopped when she saw Jua Gu and Ying Di standing beside the bed.

She awkwardly bowed.

"Elder Young Master... Madam called for you."

After saying that, she quickly turned around and hurried out of the room.

Jua Gu watched her leave before looking back at his puppet.

"Go get ready. And when you talk to that woman, act normally."

Ying Di blinked.

"How would I normally talk?"

Jua Gu rubbed his aching forehead.

"I don’t know. Just act haughty and annoying."

Ying Di nodded seriously.

"Okay, Master. I will do that."

With that, he turned around and walked out of the room with the same stiff, robotic movements as always.

Jua Gu stared after him for a few seconds.

Seriously, this corpse puppet really hadn’t gained even the slightest bit of intelligence.

He had already shared some of his demonic energy with Ying Di, and his strength had increased a little, but apparently, whatever part of the puppet controlled its brain was still completely useless.

Jua Gu sighed and looked at the sleeping Ying Mao.

"At least one of you is normal."

He reached over and gently brushed the little boy’s messy hair away from his forehead.

He really did not have the heart to wake the kid up so he let him sleep for a few more minutes before shaking him awake.

"Wake up sleepy head... it’s time for school..." he watched the young boy’s eyes blink slowly wake. As soon as the kid spotted him his lips rose up in a bright smile.

"Jua ge..."

"Yes, yes, it’s me. I’m going to take a bath, why don’t you get ready for school." He rubbed his head slightly before leaving for the bathroom.

By the time Jua Gu reached the dining room, breakfast had already been prepared.

Ying Mao was sitting at his usual place, still looking a little sleepy from having spent the night sleeping on the study table.

Mo Yuxin, however, seemed to have completely forgotten about everything else the moment she saw Ying Di.

"My darling, come here and sit with Mom. Look, I had them prepare your favourite breakfast this morning," she said sweetly, reaching over to straighten his clothes. "Did you sleep well? You should have told Mom if you needed anything."

Ying Di didn’t even look at her.

He simply walked past her and went straight toward Jua Gu.

Jua Gu had barely reached the table when Ying Di pulled out a chair for him.

"Master, sit."

Jua Gu glanced at the chair before looking at Ying Di.

"Thank you."

He sat down, and Ying Di immediately went to get his breakfast. He placed the dishes in front of Jua Gu one by one, making sure everything was within his reach before pouring him a glass of water.

Mo Yuxin sat there watching the entire thing.

The corner of her eye twitched.

Her beloved son had completely ignored her.

Not only that, he was now acting like some kind of servant for this servant’s child.

"Darling," she called again, forcing a smile onto her face. "Why don’t you come sit beside Mom?"

Ying Di didn’t answer.

He simply picked up another dish and placed it in front of Jua Gu.

Mo Yuxin’s smile became stiff.

"Ying Di."

Still nothing.

The boy remained focused on Jua Gu, even helping him move one of the dishes closer when he noticed it was slightly out of reach.

Jua Gu, completely unaware of the storm brewing across the table, simply continued eating his breakfast.

Ying Mao quietly watched everything from his seat.

He could see his mother’s face becoming uglier with every passing second, so he lowered his head and concentrated on his food.

He had already learned that it was better not to get involved when his mother was angry.

Mo Yuxin slowly tightened her fingers around the spoon in her hand.

At first, she had only been concerned about Ying Mao.

That brat was the original threat, and she had always thought that getting rid of him would be enough to secure Ying Di’s future.

But now there was another problem.

Jua Haisin.

This servant’s child had somehow gotten too close to her son.

She narrowed her eyes as she watched Ying Di pour water for him.

She didn’t care what Jua Gu did with his own life, but she absolutely would not allow him to influence her son in that direction.

Ying Di was Ying Rui’s son.

One day, he was supposed to inherit his father’s company.

What would happen if people found out that the heir of the Ying family was interested in men? How much trouble would that create for them?

No.

She couldn’t allow it.

Her fingers slowly loosened around the spoon as an idea formed in her mind.

This servant’s child had to be sent away.

But she couldn’t simply order the servants to throw him out.

Ying Rui had personally allowed Jua Gu to stay in this family. If she suddenly tried to get rid of him without a proper reason, Ying Rui would definitely become suspicious.

She needed Ying Rui to see Jua Gu as a problem himself.

She needed to make him believe that Jua Gu was a bad influence on the children.

Only then would she have a reason to remove him.

Mo Yuxin lowered her eyes, hiding the coldness that had appeared in them.

After breakfast, she quickly made her way out of the dining room.

She waited until she was sure no one was paying attention before catching hold of one of the male servants who was passing through the hallway.

"You. Come with me."

The man looked confused but obediently followed her around the corner, away from the other servants.

Mo Yuxin glanced around to make sure no one was nearby before lowering her voice.

"I have something for you to do."

She quietly explained her plan into his ear, making sure he understood exactly what she wanted him to do. When she finished, she pulled out a thick wad of cash from her purse and placed it directly into his hands.

The servant’s eyes widened as he stared at the money.

He hesitated.

"But... but I..."

Mo Yuxin smiled sweetly.

"It’s just a simple joke. You don’t need to do anything harmful. You won’t even be blamed for it. I will make sure nothing happens to you if things go wrong."

The man still looked doubtful.

He glanced down at the money in his hands and then back at her.

"But Madam, if someone finds out..."

Mo Yuxin’s smile slowly disappeared.

She had already explained it nicely.

Why was this idiot still hesitating?

Her patience snapped.

She suddenly grabbed the front of his collar and pulled him closer.

The servant’s eyes widened as his body trembled.

"If you don’t do this, I’ll have you removed."

Her voice was low and cold now.

"I’ll make sure you never get employed in another distinguished household again. Do you understand?"

The servant swallowed nervously.

Mo Yuxin tightened her grip.

"You’ll end up mopping floors in some trashy house for the rest of your life. No respectable family will ever hire you again. Do you want that?"

The man’s face turned pale.

He quickly shook his head.

"No... no, Madam. I don’t want that."

"Then do what I told you."

She finally released his collar and straightened his clothes as if nothing had happened.

The servant hurriedly nodded.

"I’ll do it. I’ll do it."

Mo Yuxin gave him a satisfied look and pushed the wad of cash back toward his chest.

"Good. Then don’t disappoint me."

The man clutched the money tightly in his hands, his fingers still trembling.

He had a very bad feeling about this.

But after seeing the cold look in Madam’s eyes, he knew he couldn’t refuse anymore.
