Chapter 44: Chapter 44 - Compromising photos

The next day, Mo Yuxin finally found the opportunity she had been waiting for.

It was around lunchtime, and both Ying Mao and Ying Di had already been sent to school. With the children out of the house, the usually busy halls had become much quieter.

Jua Gu had stayed behind because he was still recovering, and after eating a little, he had returned to his room to rest.

Mo Yuxin stood quietly in the hallway, watching from a distance as one of the servants carried a tray toward Jua Gu’s room.

Her lips curved into a faint smile.

Everything was going according to plan.

The servant she had spoken to the previous day had already added the drug to Jua Gu’s drink. It wasn’t strong enough to seriously harm him, nor would it leave any lasting effects. It would simply make him dizzy and weaken his body for a short period of time.

That was all she needed.

As long as Jua Gu couldn’t fight back properly, the rest would be easy.

The servant reached the door, knocked once, and entered after receiving no objection. He quietly walked over to the table beside the bed and placed the tray down.

"Young Master asked me to bring this to you before leaving for school."

Jua Gu glanced at the cup of orange juice with a smile.

That kid really did worry too much about him.

He had been feeling tired lately and didn’t have much energy to do anything so ying Mao must have noticed that. That’s why he the servants bring it over.

"Leave it there."

The servant bowed respectfully before turning around and leaving.

Without thinking too much about it, he reached over and picked up the cup.

He took a few sips. It was slightly sweet and tangy. Right up to his taste.

Licking his lips Jua Gu put the empty cup back down and leaned against the headboard.

It wasn’t long before something began to feel wrong.

A strange heaviness settled over his head.

Jua Gu frowned. His vision blurred slightly, and for a moment, the room seemed to tilt around him.

"What..."

He immediately put one hand against the mattress and tried to stand.

His legs nearly gave out beneath him.

Jua Gu’s brows drew together. This wasn’t normal.

He had been weak since waking up, but this was different. The weakness came suddenly, spreading through his body far too quickly.

He reached for his demonic energy, trying to force it through his meridians.

Instead, his body reacted sluggishly.

It felt as though something heavy had been poured into his veins, slowing every movement and dulling his strength.

Jua Gu’s expression immediately hardened.

Someone had drugged him!

The door opened again. The same servant stepped inside. This time, there was no tray in his hands.

Jua Gu slowly lifted his head. "You."

The servant stopped.

He narrowed his eyes at him. "Did you put something in that drink?"

The man’s face changed immediately.

That tiny reaction was enough.

Jua Gu already knew the answer.

He pushed himself up and moved toward him, but the drug made his body slower than usual. His muscles didn’t respond with the same speed he was accustomed to.

The servant saw his chance and quickly rushed forward, grabbing Jua Gu’s arm.

He probably thought the drug had weakened him enough.

He was wrong.

Jua Gu twisted his body sharply, broke the man’s grip, and drove his fist into the servant’s stomach.

The man let out a painful gasp and stumbled backward, crashing against the wall.

Jua Gu stood there, breathing harder than he should have been after such a simple movement.

Even now, his body felt heavy.

But his eyes remained cold.

"You really thought a little drug would be enough to control me?"

The servant’s face went pale.

Clearly, he had expected Jua Gu to be far weaker.

He scrambled back to his feet and lunged at him again.

Jua Gu reacted immediately.

He kicked the man’s leg, making him lose his balance and stumble sideways.

For a brief moment, Jua Gu felt some of his strength beginning to return. The drug was still affecting him, and his head continued to spin, but at least his body was responding a little faster.

The servant suddenly rushed at him again.

This time, he caught him by the collar.

He slammed him against the bed frame hard enough to make the man’s head jerk backward.

"What exactly are you planning?"

The servant’s entire body trembled.

"I—I was only told to drug you and..."

"and what?"

The man clenched his jaw and refused to answer.

Jua Gu’s eyes narrowed.

He tightened his grip.

He was about to force an answer out of him when something caught his attention.

The servant nearby was hiding behind the slightly opened doors holding something in his hand.

A camera.

Jua Gu’s eyes immediately shifted toward it.

The servant quickly raised it.

Click.

The sound of the camera shutter filled the room.

Jua Gu froze.

Right then the servant he had held down reached out and kisses him hard,

"Fuck!" He quickly bit his lips hard and punched him hard,

His gaze dropped.

During the struggle, his shirt had become loose, the collar pulled down and one side slipping partly from his shoulder.

The servant hurriedly took another photograph.

Jua Gu’s expression changed instantly.

"So that’s what this is."

Everything finally made sense.

The servant wasn’t trying to overpower him.

He was just trying to create evidence.

Jua Gu’s grip tightened around the man’s collar.

"You..."

He should have expected Mo Yuxin to make a move sooner or later, but this was more troublesome than he had anticipated.

She wasn’t trying to physically harm him.

She wanted something she could use against him.

Something that could be twisted into whatever story she wanted.

Jua Gu’s expression darkened.

He raised his leg and kicked the servant hard enough to make him double over.

The man collapsed onto the floor, clutching himself and groaning in pain.

He glared down at him. "You’re lucky I don’t kill you."

Right then footsteps sounded outside the room.

He already knew who it was.

Mo Yuxin walked inside.

Her gaze first landed on the servant lying on the floor before slowly moving to Jua Gu. Then she smiled.

"Your plan sucks. Is this all you wanted? A few photos?"

Mo Yuxin calmly closed the door behind her. "Of course. A few photos are more than enough for me to deal with you."

Jua rolled his eyes at this as he adjusted his messy hair. "Your son wont believe you even if you showed it to him live," he grinned. Of course, because ying di was a corpse puppet.

"You still don’t understand." She raised her phone. "That was never the plan."

Jua Gu frowned.

Mo Yuxin turned the screen toward him.

The photographs were displayed clearly.

His face was visible in every one of them. His shirt hung loosely from his shoulders, and with the right angle, the photographs made the entire scene look far worse than what had actually happened.

Anyone seeing them without knowing the truth could easily misunderstand what had taken place.

Jua Gu’s expression finally became serious.

"You..."

Mo Yuxin smiled. "I don’t need my son to believe it."

She stepped closer, her eyes fixed on him.

"I only need my husband to believe me."

She tapped the screen several times.

Then she pressed the call button.

Jua Gu’s eyes immediately narrowed.

The video call connected.

Ying Rui’s tired face appeared on the screen.

"Yuxin?"

Mo Yuxin’s expression changed instantly.

The cold smile disappeared as if it had never existed. Her face became pale and worried, and her eyes quickly filled with tears.

"Ying Rui..." Her voice trembled.

"What happened?" Ying Rui immediately became alert.

Mo Yuxin glanced toward Jua Gu before looking back at the screen. "It’s about Jua Haisin."

She took a shaky breath. "I didn’t want to believe it either, but I found out what he’s been doing around the children."

Ying Rui’s expression became serious. "What happened?"

Mo Yuxin hesitated.

Then she slowly turned the phone so the photographs could be seen.

"I found these..."

Ying Rui went silent.

His eyes remained fixed on the screen.

Mo Yuxin lowered her gaze, making herself look hesitant and conflicted.

"I don’t want to accuse a child without proof, but look at how he behaves. He has become so vain and attention-seeking, and he’s constantly hanging around Ying Di."

She paused, allowing her words to settle.

"I’ve been worried for some time that he’s becoming a bad influence on the children."

Her voice became softer.

"I tried to deal with it quietly because I didn’t want to cause trouble for you."

A few tears finally slipped from the corners of her eyes.

"I just don’t know what to do anymore."

She shed a few tears.

Watching this Jua Gu raised a brow. ’so that was the plan.... You didn’t have a way to separate your son from me so you want to throw me out of the house... smart plan. I never should have underestimated his woman.’
