Chapter 157: Nangong Wanwan

The progenitor of the Blood Race had deployed only one person in Silver City. However, that one person alone was stronger than the entire Furry-Hand Squad.

Having locked on to his target with Super Smell, Yu Xian rapidly moved down the corridor of the tube building. Just then, a door opened, and a woman in a sky-blue qipao stepped out. The moment they saw each other, the woman knew her disguise had become useless.

She sighed, and a bamboo pole appeared in her hand out of thin air. "Little Brother, you shouldn't have come."

Yu Xian indifferently replied, "Miss Wanwan, let me give you some advice. Surrender quietly."

A green gleam flashed through Wanwan's eyes. She chuckled. "That depends on whether you can satisfy me, Little... Brother."

She instantly swept her weapon forward, and the bamboo leaves on the Wolf Brush shot toward Yu Xian. Wielding the Manji Thunderflash Blade, Yu Xian charged straight at her. The Dragon Shield blocked every incoming bamboo leaf. Once he closed the distance between them, he unleashed slash after slash, while Wanwan continuously parried the attacks with her Wolf Brush.

Laughter escaped her lips. She clearly had the upper hand and had already seen through Yu Xian's poor swordsmanship. "If this is all you've got, it's not going to be enough!"

The next instant, the Wolf Brush in her hands seemed to have come alive. While it held off Yu Xian's attacks, its thorny branches struck at him from every conceivable angle. Nevertheless, the scales of the Dragon Shield blocked all of them.

While Yu Xian's technique was poor, the Dragon Shield compensated for that. Besides, he was not without his advantages. For instance, he possessed tremendous strength. Every slash of his carried astonishing force. Wanwan acted as though she parried them effortlessly, but in truth, she relied entirely on skill. Each time she blocked, she had to retreat to disperse Yu Xian's overwhelming power.

The two fought from one end of the tube building to the other. With nowhere left to retreat, Wanwan leaned back against the railing, braced herself with her left hand, and nimbly vaulted onto it.

When Yu Xian slashed at her ankle, she smiled and leaped backward, sending herself into the air. An ordinary tube building was usually only five or six stories tall. However, land in Silver City was worth its weight in gold, and developers were eager to build as high as possible. As a result, this particular building stood a full twenty stories tall.

Yu Xian and Wanwan had been fighting on the seventeenth floor. Watching her plummet toward the ground, Yu Xian immediately jumped onto the railing and fired a barrage of tiny bubbles at her. He had assumed that since Wanwan was falling through the air and couldn't gain any leverage, the attack was practically guaranteed to hit.

Unexpectedly, she seemed to have foreseen it. Before the tiny bubbles reached her, the bamboo pole in her hand suddenly extended. With a swift lash against the tube building's guardrail, she used the leverage to swing herself away, cleanly evading the bubble onslaught.

She performed a backflip and landed on the ground. Smirking, she waved up at Yu Xian before turning to leave. Among supernatural beings, flight was neither particularly rare nor especially common. She did not believe Yu Xian could fly down and catch her.

However, she had taken only a few steps when a sense of danger enveloped her. She instinctively dodged to the right, and the Manji Thunderflash Blade cleaved through empty air.

Wanwan spun around and swung her weapon at Yu Xian. "How did you get down here?"

"If you surrender now, you will find out the answer very soon," Yu Xian said. Turning his blade sideways, he slashed at Wanwan's waist.

Wanwan blocked the strike with her Wolf Brush and immediately retreated. She then spun her weapon and sent a dense spiral of bamboo leaves shooting toward Yu Xian.

Yu Xian neither dodged nor retreated. He swiftly brought his blade down toward her. "Your ability is useless against me!"

Wanwan could only continue evading. At that moment, she sensed something and, the instant she completed her dodge, moved as though she were dancing. She spun and shifted gracefully through the surrounding area while the nearby trees suffered in her place, riddled with holes by countless spatial bubbles.

Wanwan did her best to evade the relentless barrage, but the bubbles still punched numerous small holes through her qipao, leaving parts of her body exposed. "Your ability is seriously dirty."

Yu Xian completely ignored her flirting and directed even more spatial bubbles into his attack formation. "Not as dirty as you."

This woman was nothing more than a vicious predator. Not only had she killed countless people, but she was also exceptionally skilled at using her beauty to achieve her goals. She had only arrived in Silver City the previous night, yet she had already murdered dozens of people. In fact, the moment Yu Xian saw her, he had smelled the overwhelming stench of blood on her, so strong that even her perfume could not conceal it.

Even in this tube building, she had killed a family of three, whose bodies were still lying upstairs. The only reason she had killed them was that she needed a temporary place to change clothes.

The scene was breathtakingly beautiful. If not for her clothing, which did not match the scene, it would have been even more perfect.

Just as Yu Xian seemed entranced by the beautiful scene before him, the surrounding bamboo leaves transformed into an enormous green bamboo viper, which opened its jaws and viciously lunged at him.
