Absolute Beast Dominion - Chapter 448: Crocodile - 2

Chapter 448: Crocodile – 2
The Crocodile’s attack, even while powered up, was useless against Leo’s water cannon. The beam travelled forward, cutting straight through the greenish-brown blast like a laser and splattering the poisonous substance everywhere until finally—
Spaaallllarrrrkk!
The water cannon struck directly into the insides of the Crocodile’s mouth, knocking loose a few teeth and forcing the massive maw shut tightly. The water beam continued hammering against its head, pressing the beast into the ground before Leo manoeuvred the attack across the Crocodile’s body.
The water pressure was so high that some of the spikes over its body snapped backward, while the inside of its mouth began to bleed heavily, making it obvious the water had already torn through the soft flesh earlier.
Grrrwwwwrrr…
The beast released a deep, low growl that reverberated through the air as it watched Leo hang from a tree branch before hopping back onto his feet after a flip.
There was no chance Leo would set foot in that poisonous swamp.
His natural healing swiftly stopped the sizzling wounds over his upper body and restored the skin back to normal within moments.
Down below, the crocodile’s bright yellow eyes dimmed slightly more as it tried to reassess the situation.
It had been sleeping peacefully. The beast couldn’t recall clearly anymore, but at the time it went to sleep, this place had still been with so much vegetation and open, and it alone had been the top predator of the region. To assert dominance, it used to rest without any concern and defencelss.
Well, perhaps calling it completely defenceless was an overstatement, because its hide alone could stop attacks from 3-star beings or below. At some point, it had simply grown too strong and too comfortable, eventually sleeping in the open without worries.
And somehow, it had slept for decades.
Because it was a cold-blooded reptile, it voluntarily suppressed its metabolism to such an extent that it was essentially dead, making the long slumber feel no different from an afternoon nap.
During that time, academy students had hunted many beasts in the area, but since the creature had already sunk deep underground beneath layers of dirt and debris, no one had sensed it.
The Crocodile looked around. The topography had changed drastically from what it remembered. Even its kin were absent.
It momentarily took its eyes off Leo and glanced toward the tall waterfall nearby.
This was new. Maybe because of this waterfall, the debris accumulation had fastened making him buried so deep.
Before it slept, there had only been a pond connected to a stream flowing from the other direction. Slowly, it turned its gaze back toward Leo, who was already preparing another attack.
When it had sensed someone prying into its presence, its anger had boiled over and awakened it from its long slumber. No one had ever dared to do such a thing to it. It needed to reestablish dominance, so it surfaced.
And now it was already losing to a strange, small bipedal creature that didn’t even feel as powerful as its attacks suggested.
Sensing something amiss, it instinctively took a step back. Previously, whenever it encountered a strong opponent, it would send its underlings to wear the enemy down before personally delivering the finishing blow.
But now, there was no one around it.
GRRRRRWWWWAAAAAAA!!
The beast roared once again as a warning upon seeing Leo about to attack. Simultaneously, it made the swamp even muddier, causing its massive body to sink more than halfway beneath the surface as it continued burying itself.
Knowing the Crocodile was trying to escape, Leo immediately used [Vine Estranglement]. Thick vines erupted beneath the swampy area and latched around the beast’s body.
“Oh, whoa!” Leo exclaimed, realising that his control over the vines had greatly improved after learning [Spiritual Sense].
This was possible because, after accurately perceiving the surrounding terrain, he could pinpoint the best locations to use as the foundation for vine growth. He could even determine how to wrap the vines around the Crocodile most effectively because the beast’s shape was almost completely visible to him despite being submerged.
But there was one problem.
Thuk! Thuk! Thuk!
The vines snapped apart one after another with nothing more than simple movements from the beast.
Since Niri was a Peak 3-star, meaning a 3-star realm beast, even though Leo himself was a 4-star individual, his powers still originated from Niri. Thus, they remained capped at Peak 3-star strength.
Which was far too weak to restrain the Mid 4-star Crocodrake.
Wait… a Drake?
Leo suddenly realised the Crocodile’s species suggested it was actually a subspecies of dragon.
No wonder its heart would sell for 6 million! Its heart could essentially boost the bloodline of dragon-type beasts!
Leo immediately became excited upon realising he had encountered his first draconic species. If he hadn’t already possessed water, earth, and poison attributes beforehand, he would’ve been completely tempted to tame it.
But for now, it was simply a cash cow waiting to be slaughtered.
Violet flames burst over both his arms once again before being overtaken by a white sheen.
“Let’s see if you get one-shotted too,” Leo said as he jumped.
The Crocodile’s slit pupils contracted sharply at Leo’s descending figure, ompletely aware of the danger. It sharply twisted its massive body, moving abnormally fast for something so large, and whipped its sturdy tail toward Leo.
If Leo truly possessed such overwhelming strength, then sacrificing the tail wouldn’t cripple it, and it could immediately retreat afterward.
And if Leo was weak—
The tail would simply squash him.
But—
THAAAAM!
Leo punched directly into the incoming tail.
The heavy momentum of the tail stopped instantly.
Not only that, the tail actually recoiled backward, the tough armour over it shattering apart while the soft flesh beneath was battered open. Violent flames immediately began doing their work.
The impact was so devastating that nearly all the bones inside the tail cracked, while several joints violently popped out of place.
SKKAAAGGGRRRHH!
The Crocodile roared in extreme pain. The damage it had assumed wouldn’t be crippling had indeed become crippling.
At that moment, the beast understood it was doomed and regretted surfacing at all because apparently, ’somebody weak’ had provoked it.
Leo carefully landed atop the spike-covered back of the Crocodile, intending to use Critical Punch directly on its head.
But suddenly, the spikes elongated and shot upward toward a very unfortunate area.
Leo swiftly jumped away, though not before smashing aside the spike aimed directly at his nether region. He wasn’t willing to take any risks.
However, the poison coating the spike was extremely potent. His hand instantly went numb, followed by a burning sensation spreading across his aarm.
“You like using poison, right? Taste this,” Leo said with a fierce expression as he extended his palm forward while mid air.
