Chapter 369: Chapter 369: Manifesting Five Divine Rules!
But if he didn’t go, he’d miss this golden chance to boost his power.
By the time the three Demigod vanguards returned with the main army, they still wouldn’t have a chance to win.
On one side lay an imminent internal rebellion; on the other, a legacy that could turn the tide of the war.
Logan was caught in a dilemma.
His fingers tapped the stone table faster and faster as his mind raced, calculating the odds of both choices.
If he dealt with the rebellion directly, his current win rate was 70%, but that would drop below 20% once the three vanguards returned.
If he entered the Time Rift, Kane would hold the line alone for six hours. The odds of him surviving that were only 40%, but securing the legacy would push their overall win rate up to 50%.
In either choice, they were picking a sliver of hope out of a dead-end.
Just then, Logan’s soul contract vibrated again.
Violet’s voice cut through his mind, laced with cold fury: “Master, I’ve used royal authority to summon Blood River and Shadow Phantom for a meeting.”
“Blood River replied that he is on his way immediately, but his troops haven’t slowed down. They are still closing in on the temple.”
“Shadow Phantom gave no reply. They are completely offline.”
Logan’s eyes turned ice-cold.
The rebellion was confirmed.
There was no room for hope or wishful thinking.
He looked at Kane and said in a deep tone: “Blood River and Shadow Phantom are definitely turning traitor. We don’t have time to hesitate anymore. I’m splitting the forces.”
“You stay and defend the Destroyer Temple against the rebellion.”
“With your Demigod pressure, even if they join forces, they absolutely cannot break through the temple’s defenses in a short time.”
“I will take Violet, Nel, and Bobbi into the Time Rift to claim the Rule Manifestation legacy.”
“I will be back within six hours.”
Kane fell silent for a few seconds, a complex emotion flashing in his gray eyes. “Agreed.”
“But I must warn you: if you aren’t back within six hours, the three Demigod vanguards will definitely turn around.”
“At that point, I will be left alone to face three Demigods while being attacked by the internal rebels from both sides. I will surely die.”
“You will be isolated with no help and will eventually fall too.”
Logan looked at Kane with unwavering determination: “I know the risks, but this is our only chance to win.”
“Without the power of Rule Manifestation, even if we quell the rebellion, we won’t be able to stop the next attack from the three Demigods.”
Kane nodded slowly, giving up the argument.
Suddenly, he raised his hand and pulled a golden Destroyer Crystal from his storage space.
This crystal contained a surging flood of Demigod-stage Destruction Rule energy—it was one of Kane’s trump cards. “Take this.” Kane said. “Inside the Time Rift, the rules are chaotic. This will help stabilize your five-spiral structure.”
Logan didn’t refuse. He reached out and took the Destroyer crystal.
Then Kane looked at Logan, his tone solemn. His voice carried the weight of entrusting a legacy:
“If I fall in battle, the No. 53 Restricted Zone belongs to Violet.
“Remember: it is better to destroy this zone completely than to leave it to the Devourers.”
Logan’s heart gave a sudden, violent thump.
He looked at the Demigod before him—a being who had carried three thousand years of feuds and grudges—and felt a swirl of complex emotions rise within.
This was no longer just a partnership of interests.
This was a bond of life and death, built on absolute trust.
Logan extended his right hand and placed it firmly on Kane’s shoulder.
His voice was quiet, yet filled with undeniable power.
“You will not die.” he said.
“We haven’t gone to the Ancient Tribunal yet to demand the real compensation from those Observers.”
A rare flicker of emotion passed through Kane’s gray eyes.
He looked at Logan and nodded heavily.
At that moment, Violet strode into the main hall.
She dropped to one knee and performed the Ancient Beast Clan’s royal salute toward both Logan and Kane. “Master, Lord Kane, Blood River’s vanguard has reached three kilometers outside the temple.”
“Shadow Phantom’s assassins have already appeared in the shadows surrounding the temple grounds.”
“They could launch an attack at any moment.”
Logan helped Violet up and said, “Prepare to depart. We’re going into the Time Rift.”
Violet lifted her head, her golden vertical pupils showing no trace of fear. “As you command, Master!”
Nel and Bobbi arrived in the main hall at the same time, giving Logan a silent nod of acknowledgment.
The four of them turned and walked toward the ancient passage behind the temple.
The six-hour countdown in the outside world had officially begun.
Inside the Destroyer Temple, Kane stood alone before the throne.
The golden light of the Destruction Rule flared around him, while golden chains wrapped tightly in the air.
He gazed out at the blood-red tide closing in around the temple, his gray eyes filled with killing intent.
He would defend this temple alone. He would hold on for six hours.
His old wound throbbed, and the black veins corroded by the Devouring Rule continued to spread slowly across his chest.
Yet his hand gripping the chains remained as steady as a rock.
Time Rift.
The four stood at the entrance boundary of the Time Rift.
Inside the ancient passage, Destruction Rule and Devouring Rule twisted and churned together, making their skin sting.
Bobbi’s Phase Folding ability was heavily suppressed. Her body swayed slightly as she struggled against the chaotic energy currents.
She could barely maintain a basic defensive stance, let alone teleport safely. “Master.” she said, her voice tight, “the rules here are too chaotic. I can’t stabilize my teleportation.”
“The energy consumption is three times faster than normal. I can only manage three short-range jumps before running dry.”
Logan nodded slightly, his gaze fixed on the gray boundary ahead.
Just as he prepared to step forward, a solemn warning erupted in his Soul Sea.
Nyarlathotep’s soul wave carried a gravity unlike anything Logan had felt before: “Logan, stop.”
“The Observers of the Ancient Tribunal have always followed a principle of absolute neutrality in arbitration.”
“But your five-spiral DNA… to them, it is an unprecedented anomaly.”
“They might see you as a breaker of rules and attack you immediately.”
Logan stopped in his tracks, his brow furrowing slightly.
Nyarlathotep continued, “I have a suggestion.”
“Conceal all traces of your five-spiral aura. Expose only your Soul Rule.”
“Mimic my Demigod-stage soul wave to disguise yourself as my successor.”
“This will at least lower their hostility, so they won’t immediately mark you for destruction.”
Logan thought silently: This is a solid plan.
The Observers of the Ancient Tribunal make even the Origin Devourer hesitate.
Since he hasn’t acquired the Rule Manifestation legacy yet, there’s no need to reveal all his trump cards right away.
With that thought, Logan immediately suppressed his five-spiral DNA aura.
Silver Time Rules, golden Space Rules, green Creation Rules, and black Destruction Rules were all sealed deep within his Soul Sea.
Only the gray-white Soul Rule flowed gently across his skin.
He mimicked Nyarlathotep’s Demigod-stage soul wave, causing the air around him to instantly thicken and turn cold and gloomy.
At the same time, he stored Yepera’s bones and the Black Dragon’s bones deep within his storage space, completely erasing the traces of the other two Demigods.
Only after finishing this did Logan take a step forward, leading the way across the Time Rift’s boundary.
Violet, Nel, and Bobbi followed closely behind. Together, the four of them passed through the gray spatial barrier.
The scenery shifted instantly.
Before them lay an endless expanse of shattered gray space.
Shattered clock fragments floated in the air. Some had hands spinning wildly backward, others were completely frozen, and a few spun at speeds too fast for the eye to track.
Shards of broken Time Rules formed chaotic currents, slicing at their bodies and causing sharp, spiritual pain.
The flow of time here was completely different from the outside world.
Even with his five-spiral DNA locked inside, Logan could clearly feel the discrepancy.
One second outside equaled ten seconds here.
The time ratio was indeed one-to-ten.
Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through the Royal Bloodline Resonance Stone on Violet’s forehead.
Her face turned pale, and a flash of deep anxiety and terror crossed her golden vertical pupils.
She grabbed Logan’s arm, her fingertips turning white from the force. “Master, something is wrong with the Restricted Zone!”
“I can only vaguely sense that Blood River’s rebels have completely surrounded the Destroyer Temple.”
“Lord Kane’s Demigod pressure is still holding, and the two sides are at a stalemate.”
Logan’s pupils contracted slightly.
He hadn’t expected Blood River to move this fast.
They had just stepped into the Time Rift, yet the rebels had already completed their encirclement.
Violet trembled slightly, her eyes filled with worry for her kin.
She knew that once the temple fell, all the Ancient Beast Clan royals and the留守 soldiers inside would be slaughtered by Blood River.
Yet, not a single word of regret or a request to return escaped her lips.
She would obey Logan’s every decision without question.
Logan closed his eyes, quickly calculating the current situation.
If they turned back now, they would completely lose this golden chance to boost their power.
Even if they managed to quell Blood River’s rebellion, once the three Demigod vanguards returned, they would still be doomed.
But if they pressed deeper into the Time Rift, Kane, standing alone against the rebels, could face any accident at any moment.
If Kane fell, even with the legacy, they wouldn’t be able to stop the attack from the three Demigods.
Faced with two evils, he had to choose the lesser one.
Logan snapped his eyes open, his gaze cold and resolute. “Head straight for the Time Rift core first. Quick and decisive!”
“Four hours—inside the Rift, that’s forty hours outside. We need to finish the trial, secure the legacy, and turn back immediately.”
Violet studied Logan’s determined eyes and nodded firmly. “As you command, Master.”
Nel stepped forward. “Master, let me split off some avatars to scout ahead first.”
Before she finished speaking, she shifted her focus, and twelve solid avatars instantly materialized around her.
But the moment they formed, they began to turn translucent, their energy fading rapidly.
