Chapter 380: Chapter 380: A New Chance to Heal Kane!
As if they couldn’t tolerate the arguing of the three spiritual bodies, the Black Dragon’s roar suddenly exploded in the Soul Sea: “What are you afraid of? If we have to fight, let’s fight head-on!”
“My Destruction Rule was made to counter devouring anyway! Activate it! Find his location, and we’ll charge straight through. Better to kill him before he comes knocking on our door!”
Logan tapped his fingers lightly on the stone table, not immediately answering the Demigods’ dispute.
Their position was already exposed. Even without activating the core, the Origin Devourer would arrive within twenty-four hours.
So, instead of fearing a sneak attack, they might as well use this to gather intel.
After all, with no intel, the chance of victory is zero.
Only with precise location and weakness data is there a sliver of hope.
Plus, Logan urgently needed that core to restore his power.
With this thought, Logan said softly, “Hiding means nothing.”
Then, after three seconds of silence, he looked up at Violet and ordered coldly, “Raise the highest level of defense in this chamber. Expand all scouting units fifty miles out to guard. Report any anomaly immediately.”
Violet stood up at once, placed her right hand on the royal mark on her forehead, and quickly issued a series of orders.
Meanwhile, golden defensive runes flared one by one on the chamber’s jade walls, forming three independent protective barriers.
Not even a Demigod-stage sensing ability could pierce through this shield.
Once that was done, Logan placed his right hand on the core. Five Divine Rules poured in at once, and he coldly spoke a single word: “Activate.”
Colorful light flooded the core’s interior. In an instant, the black crystal erupted with a blinding dark glow.
The temperature in the entire chamber plummeted by dozens of degrees. Even the air froze, scattering with tiny black ice crystals.
The next second, the Time Rule triggered. The “Predict the Future” ability activated, and Logan’s consciousness was forcibly pulled into a series of visions from the future.
…
Twenty-four hours later, on the border of the No. 53 Restricted Zone, the Origin Devourer, towering a kilometer tall, marched forward.
Though his outline was human-shaped, his body was covered in swirling black vortices of all sizes.
With every step, the ground beneath him collapsed into massive devouring voids.
Anything touching those vortices was instantly swallowed, leaving not even a trace behind.
He was surrounded by a giant black hole ten miles in diameter. The Devouring Rule had already corrupted half of the Restricted Zone.
The three blood moons that usually hung in the sky had lost their light to the black hole, turning into dark, dead moons.
The 800,000-person United Army stood in formation along the border, reduced to the size of ants under the oppressive pressure of the enemy’s peak Demigod-stage power.
People were constantly dragged into the black hole by its gravity, vanishing completely before they could even scream.
Suddenly, a terrifying mental shock surged through the connection from Predict the Future and hit Logan’s mind.
Blood poured from Logan’s seven orifices at once, and his body trembled uncontrollably.
“Hmph! So you found me?” Logan knew the Origin Devourer was launching a mental attack through the core connection.
But he didn’t give up.
Logan clenched his teeth and kept focusing his senses on the Origin Devourer.
Using his Predict the Future ability, he frantically scanned the Origin Devourer’s Divine Rule weaknesses.
Finally, he spotted a golden scar, about an inch long, on the creature’s throat.
The Devouring Rule around the scar was clearly chaotic, with faint traces of Creation Rule power remaining.
This was clearly a wound left by Observer No. 9 back then, and it had never healed.
The Destruction Rule could strike this broken structure and deal a fatal blow.
The moment he found the weakness, Logan forcibly withdrew his consciousness and opened his eyes.
His eyes were filled with bloodshot veins, and the blood from his face dripped down his cheeks, soaking the front of his shirt.
Yet, the corner of his mouth curled into a smile.
Violet had been watching from the side. Seeing him bleed from all his orifices at once, she rushed over in panic.
She gripped Logan’s shoulders, her golden vertical pupils wide with fear. “Master! Are you okay? Stop sensing immediately!”
Logan waved his hand, signaling that he was fine.
He first wiped the blood from his face, then said excitedly, “That guy’s weakness is the golden scar on his throat.”
“It was wounded by Observer No. 9 using Creation Rule back then. It still hasn’t healed. The Destruction Rule can deal a fatal blow directly to this spot.”
Kane had been awake the whole time, listening to the conversation.
Hearing Logan’s words, his grey eyes suddenly lit up. He tightened his grip on the Blade of Destruction.
As long as there was a clear weakness, even a peak Demigod wasn’t without a chance to fight.
Seeing that Logan was indeed fine, Violet finally let out a sigh of relief.
She turned and reached into her royal storage space, pulling out a pale golden horn.
About a meter long, the horn was carved with totem patterns from the Ancient Beast Clan’s royal family, containing immense Demigod-stage energy.
This was the complete horn of the Sky-Splitting Tribe’s first chief—the Horn of the Sky-Splitting Ancestor.
Violet knelt on one knee and held the horn up to Logan. Her golden eyes were full of determination. “Master, this is the final secret treasure of the Ancient Beast Clan.”
“It can unleash a full-strike from a Demigod, but the user will surely die, taking the target down with them.”
“If tomorrow’s battle reaches a desperate point, Violet is willing to sacrifice herself to destroy the Devourers and protect Master’s escape.”
Logan looked at the pale golden horn before him. He could clearly feel the terrifying energy contained within.
If that strike were fully unleashed, it would even cause significant injury to the Origin Devourer, a being beyond the Demigod stage.
But Logan shook his head. He reached out and pushed the horn back into Violet’s hands.
His gaze fixed on Kane, lying on the jade bed, his eyes filled with absolute resolve. “We are going to win while staying alive, not through mutual destruction.”
“Kane’s Blade of Destruction, combined with my Five-Spiral technique, can strike the throat weak point for a fatal blow. That gives us a sliver of hope. Don’t use this horn until the very last step.”
Hearing this, Kane sat up straight.
His grey eyes locked onto Logan. “Winning while alive! I’ve waited three thousand years for this revenge. If I die, I’ll die in battle, chopping down enemies. I won’t die by Self-Destructing just to accompany the dead.”
Logan smiled and nodded. He handed the Horn of the Sky-Splitting Ancestor back to Violet. “Keep this safe. It is your final trump card. But we need to live, so we might not even need it. Tomorrow, we lock onto the Origin Devourer’s weakness and deliver a killing strike.”
Violet took the horn, her golden vertical pupils glistening with tears, yet she nodded firmly.
Just then, the defensive runes in the chamber trembled slightly, and a guard’s report came through: “Master, a projection of Observer No. 3 is requesting an audience outside the hall.”
Logan stood up, wiped the blood from his face, and steadied his breathing.
He signaled for Kane to stay in the chamber and rest, then walked out with Violet.
They proceeded all the way to the main hall of the Destruction God Halls.
Observer No. 3’s projection was already led to the center of the hall, floating silently.
The Observer appeared as a semi-transparent, silver-grey human figure, standing ten meters tall. Dozens of Space Rule chains circled his body, clinking softly against one another.
He turned his gaze to Logan, his voice ethereal, echoing directly into the Soul Sea: “Keeper of the Five Rules, I represent the Ancient Tribunal. We formally issue an invitation to observe.”
“After the battle, you must travel to the Time Rift to undergo a full assessment and registration of your Five-Spiral DNA.”
“We will evaluate your impact on the stability of the world’s rules and determine if you qualify as an anomaly.”
The Observer’s grey eyes were void of pupils, filled instead with tiny, swirling space vortices.
His gaze swept over Logan’s forehead, seemingly piercing through the Soul Sea to see the three Demigod consciousnesses sealed deep within.
The Observer continued, “You have been placed on the Key Observation List.”
“Those on this list may become allies for the Court, or they may be eliminated as anomalies. It all depends on the observation results.”
Logan met the Observer’s gaze, his expression calm and fearless. “I accept the invitation, but on one condition.”
The Observer tilted his head slightly, the sound of his space chains clinking growing louder. “Speak.”
Logan glanced toward the direction of the chamber, his tone firm. “Kane’s injuries need to be fully cured. The Court must provide a viable method.”
“Otherwise, I cannot cooperate with the post-battle observation.”
The Observer fell silent for three seconds, his grey eyes shimmering slightly.
He raised a hand, and a silver-grey rune flew from his fingertip, drifting toward Logan.
The rune felt freezing cold to the touch. Space information was instantly branded into Logan’s Soul Sea.
It was the specific coordinates of the No. 46 Restricted Zone.
The Observer’s voice remained ethereal. “The Observer organization within the No. 46 Restricted Zone is composed of retired members of the Ancient Tribunal.”
“They possess the technology to strip rules. They can completely remove the Devouring Rule from Kane’s body and cure his fundamental injuries.”
“However, you must negotiate the exchange terms with them directly. The Court will not intervene.”
After finishing his statement, the Observer turned to leave. Just as he stepped away, he paused, his tone carrying a warning. “The Origin Devourer has already broken through the super-Demigod threshold. With your current strength, you have less than a 10% chance of victory.”
“I suggest you wait seventy-two hours for the Arbitrator’s physical form to arrive before launching the final battle. In the meantime, the Court can offer arbitration shelter to guarantee your safety.”
Logan tightened his grip on the silver-grey rune, his voice cold as ice. “We must start the war within eighteen hours. I cannot wait seventy-two hours.”
The Observer’s projection flickered, clearly surprised by Logan’s blunt refusal.
Leaving one final remark, his voice echoed through the entire main hall: “The three Demigod consciousnesses within your body were also once on the Key Observation List.”
“They were all judged as anomalies back then. You better be careful.”
With those words, the projection completely dissolved into the void.
The spatial turbulence in the main hall settled immediately.
Logan stood there, clutching the coordinate rune, his expression growing slightly grave.
