Chapter 402: Chapter 402: The Blind Prophet — Dying Support!
The Black Hole Domain shrank tight, bringing the air density up sharply. Gravity crushed the rocks at Logan’s feet, sending them crumbling apart.
Bar stood beside the black hole, staring coldly toward Logan. Space chains rattled loudly in his hand.
Logan was down to his last Save Point in his secret room state. His DNA cracks were accelerating into disintegration. The Blind Prophet was dying, slipping into a deep slumber. And Violet’s temporary status had only 22 days left.
“It’s time to go all out!”
Logan didn’t back down. He pushed off the ground with his toes and leaped to the highest platform of the Black Abyss Canyon.
The wind was so strong it threatened to knock him off. His black cloak snapped wildly in the gusts. Small pebbles at his feet were swept away by the wind toward the cliff edge. It took ages before any sound of them hitting the ground could be heard.
This spot offered an open view with no rocky walls to block it, perfect for projecting the full range of the Ten Realms.
As soon as he found his balance, a harsh, tearing sound ripped through the void above him. Space warped into a strange, eerie arc.
From within that twisted void stepped the Origin Devourer. The sheer pressure of its super Demigod-stage presence instantly covered the entire platform.
Fully controlled by The Observer No. 1’s mark of truth, its eyes were solid black, showing no emotion whatsoever.
Thousands of kilometers away, Bar stood in the void with his arms crossed. His silver-gray, semi-transparent body suddenly swelled: “Space Entropy!”
Without any extra movement, the Origin Devourer responded as a vast, high-density Black Hole Domain surged straight toward Logan.
The black hole’s devouring pull and the crushing compression of space combined to create an annihilation field.
Light within the field twisted completely. Every rock that touched the black hole’s edge was instantly broken down into its most basic energy particles.
Even the structure of space itself tore apart into fine cracks, hissing as they shattered.
Seeing this, Logan hesitated not a second. He immediately fully projected his familiar world, the Ten Realms.
The Ten Realms projection took the black head-on.
The central star’s stellar power clashed directly with the black hole’s gravity, causing the rock layers to shatter.
Two super Demigod-stage rules collided, and the rocks at the canyon’s peak instantly turned to powder.
Space cracks spread outward like a spider web.
Logan crossed the Blade of Time and his spatial shield in front of him. His six-spiral DNA was running at full power, bearing the crushing pressure of the opposing forces.
But the impact of these super Demigod-stage rules was too massive. He could clearly feel his six-spiral structure trembling violently inside.
First, the time-gene chain snapped with a sharp, brittle sound, like a tight wire suddenly breaking. The pain made Logan’s vision go black for a moment.
Then the space-gene chain shattered too. Severe pain erupted from his bones, and golden blood gushed from his throat, splattering against the rock in front of him. It ate away countless tiny pits.
Logan bent down to sense his own body. His DNA cracks had worsened slightly again: “We’re now in the mid-stage of disintegration. The five-spiral structure is starting to break apart. Even using a little energy causes tearing-like agony.”
Logan knew he had hit his limit. If he held on for just a few more seconds, the entire six-spiral structure would shatter completely. And himself? He would likely die right there, erased from existence.
Without hesitation, Logan whispered, “Read.”
Once again, his body rewound to the safe room state before he entered the canyon, fully healed.
But just as he tried to exhale, he realized he was still on the platform inside the Void-Space Chain, not teleported away.
At the same time, a cold sensation hit his consciousness: The number of Time Rewind Save Points had dropped to zero!
The remaining two rewind permissions were still sealed inside the Void-Space Chain, unable to activate. He had lost all his resurrection insurance.
Logan checked his internal status, frowning even tighter.
Since the Save Point recorded his state before entering the canyon, all the Rule Fundamentals he had gained by devouring the three Demigods were gone.
His six-spiral structure had degenerated into the basic five-spiral form. Without the support of the Devouring Rule, his combat power plummeted from the super Demigod threshold back down to the normal 108-star Saint stage.
Suddenly, a huge blank space flashed through Logan’s mind. He tried desperately to recall the specific steps of the rule-separation technique Blind Prophet had once mentioned, but only hazy gray fragments remained. He couldn’t remember the core details at all.
“Did I forget something again?” Logan muttered, looking completely bewildered.
This was a side effect of the third consecutive read.
Logan knew something important had disappeared from his mind, like flesh being gouged out.
His memory integrity was already damaged; if he lost more, he risked not recognizing old friends.
“Back to square one!” Logan looked at the familiar rock walls and suddenly felt his left arm’s mark grow hot.
Wait, no!
This wasn’t “rebirth”; it was a “rollback.”
And the enemy…
Realizing this, Logan looked up sharply, staring fixedly at the area where space was warping, several kilometers away. “Can that guy sense my rebirth coordinates?”
At the same time, the Mark of Truth inside the Origin Devourer lit up. As the designated carrier of The Observer No. 1, he could indeed perceive Logan’s precise rebirth location.
The Origin Devourer wasn’t waiting at the previous collision point. He had already set up an ambush several kilometers away, shrinking the Black Hole Domain to a very tight, dense state, just waiting for the exact moment Logan rebirthed to launch a fatal strike.
Logan had barely regained consciousness and hadn’t even adjusted his breathing when an intense gravity locked onto his entire body.
He suddenly understood the key point.
He realized that The Observer No. 1’s mark wasn’t just a curse; it was a real-time positioning beacon.
Every time Logan rebirthed, he was a perfect target.
The Origin Devourer’s attack arrived instantly. A ball of pitch-black black hole energy rushed straight for Logan’s face.
Logan instinctively raised his spatial shield to block it. The moment the giant golden shield touched the black hole energy, countless spiderweb-like cracks appeared on its surface.
The massive impact force traveled through the shield to his arms, causing his bones to snap with a crisp cracking sound.
He was blasted backward by the huge force, slamming hard into the rock wall behind him and smashing a human-shaped dent into it.
Rock fragments rained down on Logan’s shoulder armor with dull thuds.
Bar stood in the void, smirking. “The Observer No. 1’s mark isn’t unique to you, Logan. Your every rebirth is a perfect target.”
Logan leaned against the rock wall, wiping golden blood from the corner of his mouth. His pupils suddenly shrank tight.
He looked up at the sky and had to squint as a blinding silver-gray light flooded his vision.
A long, jagged tear had been ripped open in the heavens.
Over a hundred arm-thick space chains lashed out from the fissure, each one wrapped in fine, intricate cracks of space.
A silver-gray, semi-transparent figure stepped out from the fissure. He was so tall his head nearly touched the clouds. The sheer pressure radiating from him caused the thousand-meter-high cliffs on both sides of the canyon to crumble and shed debris. The rocks at the very top turned straight into powder.
This was Observer No. 3, the Arbiter, arriving in person. The 72-hour countdown still had 12 hours to go.
The full-pressure of a Demigod-stage being instantly locked onto the entire battlefield.
“Logan! You can’t run!” Observer No. 3 roared. Space chains shot out, instantly sealing off every possible escape route.
Seeing this, Logan’s fingers gripping the Blade of Time turned white with tension.
In this moment, his eyes turned dark, with a swirling vortex deep in his pupils.
His gaze fixed on the throat of the Origin Devourer. There was a golden scar, only an inch long, left by Observer No. 9 back in the day. That scar was now his only chance at survival.
The true form of Observer No. 3, a complete Demigod, walked through the air toward them.
He completely ignored the battlefield rules, even disregarding the existence of Bar and the Origin Devourer. He simply raised his hand and unleashed a forbidden killing move.
“Space Entropy!”
In an instant, all matter and rules within the entire canyon began to turn into Void.
The black volcanic rock didn’t burn; it simply turned to ash and vanished. Even the air was broken down into its most basic particles. Anyone below the Demigod stage would die instantly upon touching it.
A cold, rule-based chill seeped from the skin straight into the bones. Logan could even feel his hair tips slowly turning into Void.
There was no pain, just direct disappearance.
Logan had prepared to take the hit head-on, but suddenly, a blinding golden light flared up behind him.
At the same time, in the No. 46 Restricted Zone:
Clea was wiping the face of Cassandra, the Blind Prophet, who was in a deep slumber.
Cassandra’s hair was now completely white, his skin cracked like dry earth. Only the prophecy mark on his forehead still radiated a faint heat.
The moment the Space Entropy locked onto Logan, Cassandra’s fingers twitched violently. He forcibly tore himself out of his slumber.
Clea sensed his inner essence burning furiously. Golden Inferno began seeping from his pores. She reached out in panic to stop him: “Stop! Your essence is already 90% shattered!”
Cassandra ignored her. The prophecy rune on his fingertip burned so brightly that it turned his finger bones into semi-transparent gold.
“Prophecy Rule: Fate Exchange!”
A golden prophecy rune appeared above his sleeping body. It pierced through the Lost World’s spatial barrier and even broke the seal of the Void-Space Chain, landing on both Logan and himself.
The very next second, Cassandra’s body instantly appeared on the highest platform of the Black Abyss Canyon, taking Logan’s exact position.
The full force of the Space Entropy hit him instead.
Silver-gray rule energy instantly annihilated his left side, from his shoulder to his waist, causing that entire section to vanish.
Golden blood sprayed across the black rock ground, hissing as it corroded the surface. Even the hard basalt was burned with countless tiny pits.
The half-fragment staff of prophecy in Cassandra’s hand shattered instantly.
His consciousness had blurred to its absolute limit, but he still used his last ounce of strength to send a single message to Logan through their mind link.
“Live… for me…”
