Brand New Life Online: Rise Of The Goddess Of Harvest - Chapter 1894: It’s Really You

Chapter 1894: It’s Really You
—–
An Immortal Berserker tied to the Ancient Tales of Genesis.
An Assassin who behaved like a chivalrous Saber, born from fabricated feats fueled by modern literature and social media hype.
A Ruler born from an ordinary modern woman and the Primordial Titan, Gaia.
A Dual Heroic Spirit with two souls sharing one vessel, manifesting as both Rider and Caster.
A “Foreigner” capable of summoning the horrors from beyond the void into this world.
An Avenger who embodied not one, but two of the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, the living incarnation of humanity’s war and destruction.
A mysterious “Caster” able to summon and bring to life anything it drew, turning fictional and fantastic characters into reality and spreading further chaos.
Was there a single participant in this Holy War who was not a weirdo?
To some extent, Elayne might be the least strange among all the Heroic Spirits that had appeared so far.
These were the most common class names granted to heroic spirits, beings born from myth and legend.
Berserkers were also known as Mad Warriors, Barbarians, or even Gladiators.
Assassins could be identified as Ninjas or Thieves.
Riders were called Tamers or Cavalry, while Casters were known as Mages, Wizards, Necromancers, or Sorcerers.
Avengers were referred to as the Tormented, the Vengeful, or Spirits of Wrath.
Foreigners had no alternative class name. They had never been seen, only theorized to exist. Some theories called them Warlocks who summoned, represented, or served as vessels for Entities beyond human comprehension.
Olivia explained everything she had gathered and learned about the participants in this twisted ritual meant to summon the Wish-Granting Artifact.
“What do you mean it is not even known whether it is a grail or not?” Anna asked.
“Some call it a grail because it is associated with Jesus and God,” Olivia explained. “But every time this Holy Ritual has been won by a participant who summoned their Mythical or Legendary Spirit, it has taken different forms. Sometimes a golden plate, other times a knife, sometimes a golden apple, and sometimes even a person.”
“Are they sentient?” Elena wondered.
“Nobody knows,” Olivia said, shaking her head. “It is said that this ritual defies the order and laws of the world. We are essentially hacking into the Root through this ceremony and drawing power directly from the planet’s soul to summon Mythical and Legendary Spirits, or as some abbreviate them, Heroic Spirits. Every war is different. The previous one, ten years ago, involved everyone summoning Cards of Legendary or Mythical Spirits. Using those cards, they could call forth the spirits along with complementary items and familiars. There are no strict rules. However, this Holy War feels especially wicked. It has been detected that not one, but two wish-granting vessels are being created.”
“Vessels…” Elena muttered. “I wonder what that means. Who is the vessel for what?”
“A vessel is created or born to house the spiritual souls of these summoned spirits,” Olivia explained. “Their combined power is then amassed into enough causal energy to birth a wish-granting artifact. That is the true nature of the ’Holy War,’ a name given by past magi, though it does not fully hold. It is also known as the Ritual of Sacrilege or the Spirit War. The Vatican oversees this ritual. Did you know? They have been moving around, and several areas have been declared neutral zones where attacks are forbidden.”
“Why does the Vatican help instead of interfering and stopping this?” Elayne asked.
“Because they have grown used to it and benefit from it,” Olivia sighed. “The leftover energy is later gathered by the Vatican’s Holy Zones. What they do with it afterward, I do not know.”
Everyone nodded faintly while enjoying breakfast. Olivia proved to be an incredible source of knowledge, even more so than Elayne, who had received information about the war and the classes of mythic and legendary spirits but never to this depth.
“I suppose you really are Elayne. You were way too clueless before,” Olivia laughed lightly, smiling. “I am glad you are back, friend… I am still at a loss for words now that I see you alive.”
“Olivia, we should form an alliance,” Elayne said. “We have already allied with Yasuke’s master, Harumi.”
“H-Harumi! I see. So that girl is the master of— Wait, Yasuke?!” Olivia asked in disbelief. “Is that the true name of the spirit she summoned?”
“Yeah,” Elayne answered honestly. “If we share the same goal, I doubt you will complain. Let us work together.”
“I agree!” Elena nodded. “Also, can you help my mom integrate into our daily lives here?”
“I-I suppose that is fine,” Olivia nodded, realizing that cooperation would benefit them all.
“After all, once the Ritual ends and the Leylines stop supplying energy for my existence, I might fade away,” Elayne said. “Therefore, we need to win the war, obtain the wish-granting artifact, and use it to bring everyone back to life and restore the damage that monster from another world has caused.”
“Hmm…” Olivia nodded. “You are right. There is nothing to overthink here…”
Olivia shook Elayne’s hand. In that instant, she felt a spiritual contract form, a vow, a binding deal between them.
“I see. So this is how you guarantee it,” Olivia muttered. “Using your own divinity… This is incredible. I know this is only temporary for you, but seeing how this Holy War is structured, it might last for months. I suppose it is fine if you assimilate here for the time being. This Holy War might be the prelude to something greater as well. I can feel it, and so can they.”
“After fighting that creepy guy with the books… I think so too.”
“His master is a truly wicked being born from chaos itself. I can confidently say she might be the origin of this dark grail forming elsewhere.”
“That ’Foreigner’ is a class that should not exist. And he is far too powerful. It does not help that his master belongs to a powerful species of Fae with incredible talent and strength.”
“Indeed… it is complicated, my husband.”
The dual-class spirit constantly switched bodies when speaking to one another and to the group, which quickly became exhausting to watch.
“Hm,” Olivia nodded. “For now, I will pull some strings and register you at the academy. You cannot stay here doing nothing, after all. Come with me and Elena. We will speak with the director. He happens to be a very relaxed man, and he will inform the elders.”
Olivia led Elayne and Elena with her while the rest of the girls headed to school.
After half an hour, a meeting took place between Director Akatsuki, Olivia, Elayne, and Elena.
“I see, I see. So she is her mother, huh?” the director said, rubbing his chin. “For a moment I mistook her for Elena’s older sister. Your mother is incredibly beautiful, Elena.”
“Fufu, is that so?” Elayne chuckled, blushing slightly. “Thank you, Director. You flatter me too much.”
“Ugh…” Elena groaned, suspecting the director was trying to flirt with her mother. “Director, please take this seriously…”
“Hahaha, I know, I know,” he laughed. “Just by looking at her, I can tell she is a powerful person… Elayne, are you a Dryad or something? Your presence is truly unique.”
