- Chapter 2187 - 2187: The Three Leaders of the Titan Guild (Part 2)

…
“A possible Demonic Portal connecting to another Hell Realm. This is indeed quite a problem,” said Zeus, nodding his head repeatedly and understanding the gravity of their current situation.
“What makes it worse for us is the fact that the Lesser Kingdom of Juron is almost an immediate neighboring nation right beside the Goliath Empire,” he added with full seriousness. “If this Demonic Portal is successfully established, then it will be real trouble for us.”
“The Goliath Empire will most likely become a second Storm Empire,” nodded Odin before quickly adding. “But this can also be an opportunity.”
“Since we are currently in control of the players’ resources throughout the empire and have an absolute advantage within the Noble Courts compared to the other guilds, we can also be the leading guild once the war council is established.”
“The Goliath Empire will become the main springboard that will face the invading demon army, just like the Storm Empire that is currently facing the Bug Tribe and their army.”
He then paused for a moment and looked at the two before continuing. “There are no major powers within the Storm Empire, which is why it remains a total NPC Empire, where no Guilds or Organizations that the players have established can influence.”
“It is already too late to make our move when the big war has broken out at that time, so no one has fully seized a major advantage over anyone.”
Taking another pause, he tapped his fingers rhythmically on the armrest of his stone throne before continuing. “This time is different. We are in full control of this flow. No other Guild or Organization can rival us within the Goliath Empire. We are the sole players’ power residing in this place.”
“Even if those sly foxes and cunning snakes will not be able to do anything about it when the portal is fully established.”
“Even if they try to sneak a few forces, they will not be able to affect us much since we are the overlord of this place. We can just suppress them easily before they can fully take root and establish a branch here.”
The tone of his voice could clearly reflect his ambition.
“That is if everything happens to our favor,” said Indra with a somewhat sarcastic tone before continuing. “Then what if we end up like those corrupted kingdoms near the Dark Cloud Kingdom and become another hub of demonic players?”
“You shouldn’t gamble with such things, especially when the one behind this time is not just the Pandemonium Descendants, but those from the Demonic Church of Terror as well,” he added.
“Heh! Only a coward will think that way. This is a great opportunity that can truly make our guild rise above everyone else!” refuted Odin before quickly countering. “Do you think that our Goliath Empire is as well as those demonified kingdoms? Are we weaker than the Storm Empire?”
“The average power of NPCs of the Goliath Empire is much higher than that of the Storm Empire before that war broke out!” he added, not admitting that they were any weaker.
Indra shook his head before asking. “Does the Goliath Empire have a Storm Fortress or a natural barrier like the Stormy Mountain Range?”
“No, we don’t,” he then shook his head before continuing. “The great Wilderness Forest separating the Goliath Empire and the Lesser Kingdom of Juron may be a high-level neutral region, but it can’t act as a natural barrier like the Stormy Mountain Range that can repel the invading demons.”
“Not only that, but the empire also does not have anything like the Storm Fortress guarding that border, much less an extremely powerful NPC like that Commander Taiga from that fortress protecting it.”
“Your plan will only be a disaster that will lead, not only our guild, to ruins, but the entirety of the Goliath Empire as well,” he added in a strong tone.
Odin squinted his eyes hard when he heard this, showing his displeasure, but he did not refute those words since he knew that they were all true.
The Storm Fortress of the Storm Empire and the Stormy Mountain Range were one thing, but Commander Taiga, who was guarding it, was on a whole other level. He was an absolute monster even among all the NPCs that the players had met.
Moreover, unlike the powerful NPCs from different NPC organizations, Commander Taiga was taking a more active role. He was constantly making appearances in different places of the battlefield throughout the borders between the Storm Empire and the Dark Cloud Kingdom, beating any powerful Demons or Demonic Apostles from the Demonic Churches.
Throughout the war between the two major factions, Commander Taiga had taken down more than dozens of powerful Demonic NPCs and Demonic Monsters, earning himself both awe and fear from the players.
The Goliath Empire might be hiding someone like that as well, but they could not be too sure either, since they had never seen any NPC of that level,l even after doing a variety of quests and commissions from the empire.
However, Odin would not give up this opportunity that easily and turned to Zeus. “What do you think, Zeus?”
There was a rule between the three of them that whenever a disagreement arose between any of them, they had to settle it by voting.
So long as two out of three were the result, then the other had to follow regardless of their objections.
However, if two were against each other and the other remained neutral, then the two had to duke it out and fight each other to make a decision. They had to follow the winning side right after.
Zeus thought for quite a while, thoroughly weighing the pros and cons of each side, before coming up with a decision. “Both of you have your merits.”
He paused for a moment and turned to Odin before continuing. “But I must remind you that our people have already been killed by those demonic players, so there is no need to think that much about this, don’t you think?”
“Moreover, we are currently in alliance with the Hand of Midas and the Empyrean Talons.”
“They are currently clashing with the demonic players, who are causing chaos in the Lesser Kingdom of Juron, and even assisting our people.”
“I believe that you understand what I am trying to say,” he added.
Odin fell in silence before nodding. “I understand. The Empyrean Talons and the Pandemonium Descendants are always clashing with each other, so it is obvious which side we should be leaning on this one.”
“Since we have chosen to ally with them, then it is only natural that we will also go against their enemies so long as they do not hurt our guild’s interest,” he added.
Zeus nodded before quickly adding. “I understand that you are thinking about the improvement of the guild and making us stand on top of the ladder, but you must also not forget our guild’s vision.”
“Fair justice over anything,” said Odin while nodding his head.
“So, who are we going to send there? And how much reinforcement are we going to provide?” he asked before continuing. “Njord has been killed by Leviathan, so he is currently not in the best shape to fight. The same for the people who have been killed by the Demonic Players.”
“I believe that regular members will not be too much of help. We should send some of our elites to make sure that no more accidents will happen,” he added.
“Should I send Thor or Loki?” he asked.
“Loki is more suitable for this kind of operation,” said Indra before quickly adding. “Moreover, Thor will only create more chaos there, given his personality. He will only focus on challenging any powerful players that he comes across, rather than focusing on the mission.”
“But Loki is quite a trouble himself,” said Odin, feeling a bit troubled.
Unlike the two before him, who had more reliable people who could support him in guild matters, his faction had a smaller number of capable people when it came to management.
Both Thor and Loki were troublesome people, particularly the latter, who was dubbed the God of Mischief within the circle of god-level experts.
This was the reason why Njord was assigned as the Vice Faction Leader rather than those two, despite being less skilled and noticeably weaker than them.
“Then I will send Hades too to keep him in check,” said Zeus.
“Should I send someone as well?” asked Indra, understanding that this operation would most likely encounter a lot of trouble along the way.
Within the Titan Guild, both the factions led by Zeus and Odin stood at the forefront of the guild, acting as its face and main force.
On the other hand, the faction led by Indra acted more as a shadow faction, which also served as the secret force of the guild.
Zeus thought for a moment before shaking his head. “There is no need for that. This will be enough since we are going to send both Hades and Loki as the leading figures, along with the forces under their command.”
“On the other hand, I have to trouble you to keep a lookout for our rivals. I am sure that they will cause some trouble for us after learning about the movements of our forces,” he added.
Indra nodded, fully understanding Zeus’ concerns.
