Endless Evolution: Last Star - Chapter 1693 1693: Weapon Transformation

The Hollow Marks allowed monsters to assume a battle form, granting them new power and abilities.
It wasn’t an all-powerful ability, but without the Hollow Mark, Sarka would never have been able to wound the Dark Knight so severely. She wouldn’t have been able to take a single step forward in the power level she needed to do so under any other circumstances.
Perhaps only monsters like Vyora, who possessed devastating trump cards, could have achieved a similar effect, but that was unlikely to happen considering that even her attack under the Hollow Mark couldn’t seriously wound the Dark Knight.
But the Dark Knight himself didn’t have a Hollow Mark – his sword did.
And now, his sword had activated its Hollow Mark by the Dark Knight’s will.
Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.
A powerful surge of amber energy burst forth, accompanied by violent gusts of wind.
“Damn it!” Loargh shouted, shielding himself with his hands. “We have to find a way to get out of here, or he’ll kill every one of us!”
“B-But!” Vyora’s voice trembled as she stared at the Dark Knight. His form was shrouded in an amber aura. “There’s no way out of here! You know that yourself!”
The only one who wasn’t ready to accept defeat was Sarka. She clenched her teeth, trying to hold her ground.
Still, she was exhausted and wounded more severely than the others.
Now, as the Dark Knight unleashed the true power of his sword, the situation had become worse for them than ever before.
The Dark Knight smiled as his black eyes, their true color, shone through the thick layer of the amber flame.
“Don’t worry. You fought well. Unfortunately for you, you’ve finally met an opponent who’s too strong for you. Sooner or later, most warriors end up in this place!”
FLASH!
With a bright flash, the blade of his sword widened, now resembling the tip of a great spear due to the broad blades sloping down to a long guard ending in a sharp curve.
The hilt grew longer, with a sharp tip and a sturdy base, so that the Dark Knight could wield it with either one or two hands in a free-style manner.
The Dark Knight did not possess this Hollow Mark, so he had no claim to this power.
However, his sword could not stop this. The Dark Knight endured for a long time until they both reached their goals.
Whooooooosh!
With a powerful energy flow, the amber flame enveloped the Dark Knight, forming several rings of fire: above his neck and shoulders, three on each arm, two on each foot, and another large one behind his back.
The frenzied light emanating from the Frenzied Shard was no longer in his eyes, and there were reasons for that.
SLASH!
With a wave of his hand, the Dark Knight created an amber blade that sliced through the invisible stream of energy that had always connected him and the Frenzied Shard.
“I’m sure you understand that as soon as I absorb the power of these four, you’ll be next!”
The Dark Knight looked around with a satisfied smile while the Frenzied Shard trembled behind him. It was not a tremor of anger, but of fear and helplessness.
Now, the Frenzied Shard was left without its servant, and things were far worse than just that fact.
“Agh…” The Dark Knight’s gaze swept over the tops of the giant swords. “It’ll be hard for you to find anyone willing to come here and defend you. Huh, you simply won’t have enough time.”
Then, the Dark Knight shook his head and stepped forward.
Unhurriedly, he approached Adam and the others, wearing a confident smile and a serene gaze.
He sensed the fear gripping their hearts, but made no move to mock them.
The Dark Knight knew he had already won, and that was more than enough for his soul.
“Before we begin, there’s something I’d like to know.”
Loargh frowned. “What are you talking about?”
The Dark Knight pointed his sword at them.
“Are you going to fight, or are you going to let me kill you? If you don’t put up a fight, I give you my word – I’ll make it quick.”
STOMP!
Sarka stomped her foot, shaking the ground.
“SHUT UP! If you want to kill me, you have to defeat me first, you bastard! The rules are the same for everyone! We’re monsters!”
The Dark Knight glanced at Adam. “Well, not all of us are, but I get your point. Looks like the rest agree with you.”
His eyes narrowed.
“In that case, don’t complain later that I didn’t warn you.”
Step.
The Dark Knight stepped forward, but this time his speed far surpassed anything they had seen before.
His sword couldn’t give him all its power, but it found a way to make the Dark Knight stronger through the amber flame.
Whoooooooosh!
In a heartbeat, the Dark Knight appeared right in front of Sarka, smiling faintly.
“Argh…?”
Sarka’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Instinctively, she tried to take a step back. Being so close to him was dangerous.
SWING!
The Dark Knight swung his sword from bottom to top, his expression unchanged as he continued to stare at Sarka’s shocked face, which soon filled with searing pain.
Her right arm flew off to the side, spraying a stream of blood across the ground and dry grass.
‘H-How? I barely noticed anything!’ Sarka exclaimed inwardly as the Dark Knight took another step forward.
He clenched his fist tightly, leaning forward.
‘Wait… So now he’s using the power he was supposed to have from the Hollow Mark in the first place?’
But Sarka had no time to think, since the Dark Knight’s fist was heading straight for her.
At the last moment, she thrust her left arm forward in an attempt to block his strike.
‘Tsk! Try to beat me with just that! I’ve withstood punches far stronger than these!’ Sarka shouted inwardly.
Crackle!
At the same time, there was a crackling sound, followed by the crunch of bones.
Then, Sarka’s eyes widened as her arm bent at a strange angle and her flesh and skin tore.
‘He… He broke my arm?’
Whoooooosh!
The impact sent Sarka flying to the side as her back slammed into the sword wall.
The Dak Knight nodded and turned to the others.
“So? Who’s next?”
