Endless Evolution: Last Star - Chapter 1738 1738: Sound Bomb

Every time Zin bit into his apple, all sounds disappeared from the arena, and he gained immense speed comparable to teleportation.
This was the conclusion most spectators reached after Zin took two bites.
However, things were a bit more complicated.
Zin wasn’t removing all the sounds from the arena. He was temporarily replacing them with the crunch of the apple as he bit into it. Therefore, he gained complete control over all the sounds, which now had no place to go, and Zin was the only one who could contain them in that brief moment.
Sure, the sounds weren’t dangerous in and of themselves, but when Zin controlled them and infused them with his energy, everything changed.
Each sound wave was not just an embodiment of his energy, but also the sounds that were now under his control for a brief period. Thus, making his strikes far more powerful than if he had simply used his energy.
Tremble. Tremble. Tremble.
The space trembled as Zin’s fist crashed down on Adam.
Adam had no time to dodge. All he could do was try to defend himself.
‘How much energy did he put into that punch?!’ Adam exclaimed inwardly before raising his needle. ‘Damn it! Want to see who has more energy? Fine! I’ll give you everything I’ve got!’
Adam realized they were on equal footing and that the star energy wouldn’t be enough to block Zin’s punch, amplified by the sound waves.
Whoooooosh!
A purple flame ran along the black blade as Adam tapped into the ancient energy, using up a significant portion of his reserves.
Zin’s eyes widened for a moment, but it was too late to stop his punch. Either way, he was confident.
BAM!
A deafening shockwave rippled through the arena as Zin’s fist collided with the black needle.
Adam’s grip trembled as the purple flame desperately tried to cope with the sound waves crashing into it time and again.
‘SHIT!’ Adam inwardly exclaimed, meeting Zin’s cold gaze. ‘That’s not enough!’
BAM!
The remaining sound waves tore the purple flame to pieces as the impact sent Adam plunging deep into the ground.
A cloud of dust rose as Zin hovered in the air, watching the scene unfold.
After his punch, the sounds returned to the arena, allowing him to hear absolutely everything. If he wanted to, he could hear every breath of the spectator farthest from him.
Thus, the complete silence from below caught him off guard.
‘Hmm? Was that really enough? Did I win?’
Zin was confused. He had no doubts about his powers, but he wasn’t so confident as to believe he’d defeated Adam with a single punch.
Whoooooosh!
Before Zin could figure out what was happening, a shadow swept through the smoke screen, appearing right in front of Zin.
“Agh?”
Zin looked up at Adam, who hadn’t breathed a single breath since he fell. He was holding his breath on purpose, so Zin wouldn’t hear him. Sure, Zin could hear his heartbeat, but he wasn’t going to kill Adam, that was against the rules.
“Gha…”
Adam took a deep breath as the shadow of his frame fell upon Zin. His eyes darted to his apple. He had to take one more bite to get out of here!
BURST!
A terrifyingly powerful purple flame engulfed Adam’s right arm and his needle. He had used all the ancient energy he possessed for this single strike.
“Yeah, your punch was strong, but I can hit hard too!!!” Adam roared before bringing his needle down on Zin.
Zin didn’t have time. The red apple hung right in front of his mouth as he turned toward the black needle, engulfed in purple flame.
His eyes widened, filling with fear at the sheer power bearing down on him.
However, before the ancient energy could tear him to pieces, Zin’s arm twitched as his fingers trembled.
Only Kaerno, Garzo, Es’aha, and a few others noticed this movement, which took Zin less than a split second.
Crack!
Zin held the apple in front of his chest, and instead of biting it, he clenched it tightly, crushing the edges with his fingers!
Numerous cracks appeared on the apple’s surface, producing a distinctive crunch that was significantly amplified by Zin’s abilities.
Just like last time, Zin absorbed all the sounds in the arena, but since there were so many cracks at once, he released all that power outward in an instant.
Whooooooosh!
The wild sound waves knocked the amber flame aside as Adam’s face froze in shock, staring at the trembling apple.
All he saw in that apple was the sound bomb, and he was the closest to it!
BLAST!
The last and most powerful sound wave knocked Adam aside, shaking the ground and causing the arena walls to crack.
“GHA!!!” Adam spat out a mouthful of blood as the sound wave dragged him toward the edge of the arena, continuing to inflict damage on him.
With every beat of his heart, new cuts and tears opened on his body, and his bones creaked, ready to snap under the force of the vibrations from the wave coursing through his body.
SLAM!
His back crashed into the wall as the sound wave slammed him into a stone block, causing his muscles to tense and his veins to bulge.
“AGH!”
With great difficulty, Adam managed to survive the sound explosion as he collapsed to the ground.
“Gha… Gha… Gha…” He was breathing heavily, propping himself up on the ground with one hand.
This was Zin’s chance to win, or… not?
Thump.
Zin dropped to one knee, holding his damaged apple in his hand. It still wasn’t destroyed, but the damage was comparable to if he had eaten more than half the apple.
‘Rgh, that was more dangerous than I thought, but… but I did it!’
Zin inwardly rejoiced before looking at Adam, who was struggling to get up from the ground.
‘He used all his ancient energy. What else do you have left, Adam?!’
Zin didn’t know yet, but he didn’t want to know the answer to that question.
Bam!
Adam slammed his fist into the ground before getting to his feet.
Blood covered half his body, but his gaze was calm.
Slowly, his eyes shifted from the emerald clock to Zin as dark flows of energy swept before his eyes.
