Endless Leveling Done Right! - Chapter 669: Think Of This As A Blessing

After heading to the clock tower and coaxing Latifa into telling him what was troubling her, the truth finally came out.
Her mother wished to meet Alex.
However, contrary to Latifa and her Alters’ expressions, Alex didn’t look the least bit fazed by the idea of meeting their mother.
If anything, the young man even looked excited!
“Alex, I think you don’t understand who my mother is,” Latifa said in a serious tone. “She’s not the friendliest of moms, you know?”
“I know,” Alex replied. “However, you don’t have to worry. I don’t mind meeting her.”
“Alex, she is a Rank 8 existence.”
“I know.”
“…You know?”
Alex blinked once, then twice, because he forgot to step on the brakes in giving his reply. Of course he knew who Latifa’s mother was. He had played her route many times in the past.
The young lady’s mother was the true Lord of the Mistral Weave Forest.
A Rank 8 Celestial Fox who went by the name Evarisse.
Of course, she was a very scary existence. But Latifa seemed to overestimate her mother’s threat.
If she was that threatening, Professor Rowan wouldn’t have built Frieden Academy right next to her domain.
Evarisse didn’t mind mingling with humans. In fact, she even liked them very much.
Of course, she would do her best to deny this and look aloof in front of her subjects, as well as her daughter.
However, the fact that she wanted to meet Latifa’s boyfriend only meant one thing. She had already approved of Alex!
How did he know about this important tidbit?
The true question was, how could he not? This was the turning point of Latifa’s route in the game. The moment her mother asked her to bring his lover to the forest, it meant that the moment of truth had come.
His future mother-in-law would try to intimidate Alex to test if he really loved her daughter.
Once he passed that test, she would give them their blessing, and the protagonist could finally go all the way—errr,go all out in entering Latifa’s romance route!
With that said, how could Alex possibly miss this chance?!
“Alex?” Latifa’s call broke the young man from his daydream, bringing him back to reality. “How did you know about my mother?”
“Latifa, have you forgotten?” Alex replied calmly. “I’m a Seer. I saw your mother in my vision, so I already knew she’s a Rank 8 Celestial Fox.”
The young man wanted to tell his wide-eyed sweetheart that he also knew her mother’s name. Though, in order not to cause complications, he decided to omit this bit of information.
“And you’re not scared?” Lotte asked from the side. “She could practically kill you with a flick of her paw.”
“Of course I’m scared,” Alex answered. “How could I not be scared? However, my love for Latifa can overcome my fear.”
“Uwaaah. So cringe.” Lumi’s face contorted as if she had eaten something bitter.
“I think it’s manly,” Lulu commented from the side. “He’s like a prince coming to save the princess from the evil fox—err, dragon.”
Lotte didn’t say anything. She simply stared at Alex, wondering where his confidence came from.
There was a high chance that he would not walk out unscathed from their meeting. And yet, he looked really excited to meet Latifa’s mother!
“Are you sure about this?” Latifa held Alex’s hands and looked at his face with a solemn expression. “My mother is very strict, you know?”
“Latifa, sooner or later, I will have to meet your mother,” Alex said gently, giving her hand a light squeeze. “I am just meeting her sooner than expected. However, think of this as a blessing as well.”
“A blessing?” Latifa tilted her head to the side, making her look very endearing in Alex’s eyes.
“Yes, a blessing.” Alex pulled Latifa close to him before kissing her on the cheek. “The sooner I get your mother’s approval, the better.”
Latifa didn’t answer. Instead, she buried her head in Alex’s chest. It wasn’t easy for her to make this decision. A part of her felt anxious, but the other half felt hopeful.
It took Alex a while to calm Latifa down. Though, when she finally regained her composure, she agreed to talk to her mother in order to set a date for their meeting.
After cuddling with Latifa for a few minutes, Alex finally left the clock tower to head to Fran’s farm.
He planned to meet with the Dryads and ask for their help to gather some rare herbs that were required to create stamina potions.
But to his surprise, the Dryads had already collected the ingredients he was looking for!
“We give Finn a stamina potion every night,” Francesca said while cupping her face. “Finn is something else. You wouldn’t really expect it due to how gentle he looks. But when he is in the bedroom, he is very fierce… and very manly.”
Francesca wasn’t the only one blushing. The two other dryads, Lyla and Sylphy, were blushing as well.
Alex didn’t know that his brother-in-law was so impressive. However, since Dryads seemed to be addicted to his… performance, they made sure to regularly go to the Mistral Weave Forest to gather the herbs required to craft the stamina potion.
“Well, here you go.” Francesca gave Alex a dozen stamina potions. “We already bought every herb in the exchange center, as well as the merchant houses in the city. It will take time for them to replenish their stock, so use these potions wisely.”
“So you girls are the culprits!” Alex didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. Turns out it was the Dryads who exhausted the supply of the herbs in the academy, as well as in the city.
Francesca looked very smug, not feeling the least bit guilty that others couldn’t craft stamina potions because of them.
“All is fair in love and war, Alex.” Francesca patted the young man’s shoulder. “Since you’re a friend, we will save a small part of our stock for you when we craft stamina potions in the future.”
“Thank you, Francesca,” Alex replied. “Also, you girls should do things in moderation. What would you do if my brother-in-law turned into a dry husk all of a sudden?”
“Don’t worry.” Francesca patted her chest with confidence. “We are making sure that he’s properly hydrated and replenished with the right nutrients.”
“Yes.” Lyla nodded. “Straight from the source.”
Alex blinked once, then twice, before shuddering. A part of him wanted to ask what Lyla meant by “straight from the source.”
However, the other half warned him that he should let sleeping dragons lie undisturbed.
After getting what he wanted, Alex bade farewell to the Dryads.
Since he was already in the farm, he went to see Fran, spent half an hour cuddling with her, then left with Dim Dim perched on top of his head.
The inter-academy tournament was only two weeks away.
Although he didn’t want to admit it, he was already looking forward to going to the Kingdom of Faelarun, where the second Trial of the Hermit was waiting for him and his friends.
He had no idea what kind of challenge awaited him there, but a power-up was something that was welcome to have.
