Eternal Cultivation of Alchemy - Chapter 3496: The Task

Chapter 3496: The Task
The only unfortunate part of absorbing a body through his Yellow Fog was that the efficiency of the action was far too low. Whether it was the Yellow Fog itself that was incapable of proper conversion or his body that was incapable of perfectly absorbing everything he received, he would end up with less than a fraction of a percent of what he absorbed.
He had first noticed it with the beasts of Hell. Given their nearly Divine-grade physical strength, he had been excited to improve at the same speed, but what ended up happening was that he barely improved at all.
He worried that most of the energy now floated around his Soul Space, permeating through it for someone else to absorb. Given how large his Soul Space was, even a Common realm cultivator would surely struggle to cultivate with the amount of energy present.
The lack of efficiency had been the reason Alex had given the rest of the bodies to the two trees, while he kept the beast cores for himself.
Right now, though, things were slightly different.
Everything he knew about his body involving the Yellow Fog had been from before it evolved to the God grade. Now, he hoped things were a little different.
And they were different.
Alex could feel the energy surging through his body almost immediately, his mind and spirit getting sharper by the moment. If nothing else, his Qi recovery and spiritual recovery had certainly advanced just by doing this.
There hadn’t even been a need for him to eat a pill earlier.
Alex was surprised by the change. It was still extremely inefficient considering whose body it was that he was absorbing. However, there was a definite increase at the same time.
If nothing else, Alex could now viably use corpses and other items to continue his cultivation in the absence of any Qi sources that a regular person would need.
’That’s incredible!’ he thought.
The improvement from the evolution of his body had made an extremely large difference. That made Alex wonder if there was any way to make it more efficient.
There was likely not.
God grade was clearly the final grade any physique or constitution could reach. It was the final point that the gods themselves had waited for.
But… what if it was not?
That was the thought Alex had just then. He didn’t have a reason why he believed this way, but he did. Back when his body had been at the Divine grade, he had consumed a lot of Yang Jades to improve his body constitution to a threshold. He had then consumed the Nine Yang Divine Tree’s fruit to improve it to the next grade.
At the Celestial grade, he had consumed many Sunhearts before he reached its threshold. Then, with his cultivation with Shumi, he had pushed it to the next grade.
Alex found it hard to believe there could be a grade beyond the God grade. That much he was certain about. However, that did not mean that his current body constitution wasn’t at its weakest stage.
Each body had to reach a top threshold, and he had only just reached the start. Was there something he could do to push it further?
Alex had never before considered such a thing, but seeing the weak efficiency of the Yellow Fog made him question this. And now, he wholeheartedly believed there had to be something like this.
However, he couldn’t possibly imagine what it was that he would have to consume or do in this case.
Alex continued his cultivation session for a while longer, but an hour was far too little for an Immortal of his stage to recover. He had barely gotten anywhere at all, even with all the benefits of his own body.
He was not even a fifth as strong as his regular self right now. That only made him wonder even more if he could be of help in whatever the situation was.
What was the point of him being there?
Alex saw his master and the rest in a flying boat far away before any of the other people on his ship did. Only a while later did the prince react.
“There they are!”
He hadn’t even seen them with his eyes, but sensed them with his Divine Sense.
Demon Eyes was truly incredible.
A short moment later, they arrived upon the group of Gods and Reverends, wherein Alex got from one ship to the other. He quickly bowed, greeting the people who were there.
Bladedance frowned upon noticing Alex’s condition. “What’s wrong with you?” she asked. “You feel weaker than usual.”
“I had to fight someone,” Alex said with a weak smile. “Is it going to be a problem?”
“I’m not sure,” Bladedance said. “Hopefully not. Do you understand what it is we are doing?”
“I only know it involves a big ship. Nothing more,” Alex said.
“How close is it?” Bladedance asked the Wine God.
The Wine God brought out his looking artifact and checked the direction. “About an hour away,” he said. “We should be leaving now so we can meet it.”
Bladedance nodded. “Let’s move. We can explain the situation to him on the way there.”
The Beast God complied and moved her ship. Their speed picked up, and soon they were on their way to the void of space.
Alex looked toward his master curiously, wondering what the situation was. Bladedance wasted no time and gave him the explanation.
Alex listened to it silently, taking in the information. He glanced once toward the beautiful woman who had come from the ship. Then Bladedance finished the explanation with what she wanted him to do.
“Get inside and use your spatial skills to bring everyone out. Once they are no longer there, I should be able to destroy the ship,” Bladedance said. “I know you are weak right now, but this situation depends entirely on you. If not, I will have to kill everyone there for the sake of everyone else.”
The Beast God looked toward him. “Please. Save them.”
