First Immortal of the Sword - Chapter 2732 - Charging Straight In

Chapter 2732 – Charging Straight In
Qin Suqing stood atop a pavilion, gazing into the distant dome of heaven, where a stretch of clouds had cracked. Golden rain was falling from the sky.
She murmured as if in a daze, “I must be seeing things.”
Her martial uncle, Yin Mu, still had his hand on her shoulder. His gaze was suddenly solemn. “There really is something amiss about Su Xuanjun!”
…
Over on Heaven’s Viewpoint, the purple-robed Qin Shangque silently tightened his grip on the railing. “Senior Apprentice Brother, can you tell if Su Xuanjun is suppressing his cultivation base?”
Yu Tong’s brow furrowed. “I can’t tell.”
Qin Shangque was stunned. You can’t tell? You’re a Silent Realm Dao Lord, but you can’t tell if there’s a problem with that Unfettered Realm cultivator or not? What does that imply?
Qin Shangque instinctively narrowed his eyes.
…
Deep within the imperial palace, Qin Liuhe was still fishing as he watched the spectacle reflected in the copper mirror. He clucked his tongue. “That Su guy is seriously this ferocious?”
The old woman beside him had a dark glower on her face.
Wen Biechen was one of the ten great Divine Wandering Realm cultivators of Sky Profound Court, and he was famous throughout the Blue Peak Continent.
Yet now, someone had sent him flying into the clouds with a swing of his sleeves. This was entirely unexpected.
“If he isn’t some other faction’s spy, you can twist my head off and kick it around like a ball for all I care!” said the old woman, eyes cold and flashing with murderous intent.
Qin Liuhe set down his fishing rod and stroked his chin. “If we don’t turn this around, this incident will disgrace the entire imperial family, and it’ll be all but impossible to recover our reputation!”
As serious as that prospect was, he sounded almost eager, like he wanted a spectacle, the bigger the better.
…
Outside Su Yi’s temporary residence, the cultivators clustered around the premises gazed beyond the dome of heaven. There, they saw Wen Biechen fly into the air.
Without exception, their eyes widened in shock.
…
People were now watching from the imperial city’s four gates, from the highest point of the Pavillion of Sages, from the grand palace at the heart of the palace grounds. Everyone saw Wen Biechen go flying.
The Golden Halo Dragon Formation could blanket the sky and blot out the sun, but it couldn’t deceive those watching from the shadows. They saw everything happening as clearly as if they were examining the lines of their palms.
Over in the alleyway, Su Yi brushed off his clothes and drank as if all of this were perfectly normal. All of the Divine Wandering Realm cultivators he’d faced earlier had been far too weak, Wen Biechen included.
It was to the point that Su Yi inwardly celebrated that he’d held back. Otherwise, he might have killed them by mistake. Their grudge would have been really irreconcilable then.
He wasn’t afraid of a grudge, but it would make things hard on Qin Suqing. It was only out of consideration for her that Su Yi had refrained from killing anyone earlier.
Otherwise, his collapsed opponents would have been reduced to corpses by now.
Wen Biechen plummeted down to earth with a thud, his whole face covered in dust and dirt.
Su Yi walked over to him and watched as Wen Biechen tried and failed to climb to his feet. All of his bones seemed loose and disjointed, and his organs were in pulp. Shockingly, he couldn’t get back up.
He glared icily at Su Yi. “What do you want?”
Su Yi reached out to help him up. “You might be weak and stupid, but at the very least, your feelings for Miss Qin are the real deal.”
Wen Biechen was stunned.
Su Yi patted him on the shoulder. “I can say with certainty that Miss Qin doesn’t like brainless men. Stand there and think things over for now.”
With that, he turned and went back to where he’d been standing earlier.
The ornamental carriage stood there, empty. The Flaming Antler Beasts pulling it had collapsed, overwhelmed with terror.
Wen Biechen watched with a disconsolate, complicated look on his face.
Qin Suqing was involved in this, so he couldn’t remain a bystander. Moreover, he was acting on orders. He’d never questioned this course of action.
Now that he’d survived a narrow brush with death, he was furious, but more than that, he couldn’t help but wonder if there was more to this than he realized.
“Might we have ourselves a proper chat now?” Su Yi looked around. He was certain that numerous eyes were watching everything that happened here.
Boom!
A beam of golden light descended from the heavens, transforming into a tall old man in Daoist robes. He had a goatee, and his hair was coarse and disheveled, but his bearing was fierce.
“I am Elder Pei Rufeng of Sky Profound Court. Allow me to take his place,” the old man in Daoist robes said gravely. As he spoke, his aura manifested nine dragons of astral lightning. They revolved around him, arcs of electricity shooting forth at random. He was an extraordinarily imposing sight.
“You want to fight too?” Su Yi’s brow furrowed. “I was already more than tolerant enough earlier. I refrained from killing anyone because I didn’t want to make this mess even bigger, but now, it seems you aren’t the least bit appreciative.”
The old man in Daoist robes said coldly, “You’re a spy with malicious intentions. Who are you to say things like that?”
“So there’s nothing to discuss,” Su Yi said flatly.
His opponent was a Silent Realm Dao Lord with a terrifying aura far beyond a Divine Wandering Realm expert. Su Yi knew this, so he was a bit more serious than before.
The old man in Daoist robes pointed at himself, then into the firmament. “Defeat me, or break this city-protecting formation. Only then will you be worthy of conversing with us!”
“Oh,” said Su Yi. He looked around, then said, “So that’s the stance of the Great Qin’s imperial family?”
His voice wasn’t loud, and he spoke calmly, but Su Yi was certain that those who needed to hear it heard every word clearly.
But a long time passed, and he got no response.
Qin Suqing’s heart was full of bitterness, and she felt a chill in her hands and feet. She cried out in fury, “Father, Big Brother, Little Brother, I’m sure all of you are watching. Why not let us talk this through? Why not even give Fellow Daoist Su and me a chance to explain?”
She was the eldest princess of the Great Qin, yet now, something like this was happening to her benefactor. The man who’d saved her life had been deemed a malicious foreign agent, and she had no idea why. How could she not be furious? How could she not be disappointed?
But the only response to her questions was a resounding silence.
Eldest Prince Qin Shangque leaned against the railing and said nothing.
Second Prince Qin Liuhe sighed. Oh, my foolish big sister. If we didn’t have reliable proof that Su Xuanjun and Pu Xuan were suspicious, how could we have rallied such a force?
And of course, we know about this. Who’d dare to act wantonly in the imperial city?
“Miss Suqing, don’t let anger cloud your judgment. The earlier battle proves that something is amiss with Su Xuanjun, doesn’t it?” Yin Mu said icily.
Qin Suqing’s beautiful face paled, and she pursed her lips in silence.
The imperial city had more than just one formation defending it, as well as untold numbers of old monsters. Even if Su Yi had displayed far greater strength than this, Qin Suqing wouldn’t have had any hope of his survival.
And if the battle got out of control, it would be brutal; lots of people would surely die!
When the time came, even if the truth came to life, there’d be a grudge like an ocean of blood between Su Yi and the Great Qin Empire. It’d be too late to turn things around then.
And that would lead to an irrevocable falling out between Su Yi and Qin Suqing!
That was what made her heart ache the most, and what made her angriest.
Why? What’s going on here? Why isn’t anyone from the imperial family stepping forth to stop this? Qin Suqing didn’t get it.
“I understand.” Su Yi retracted his gaze and paid no further heed to the Great Qin’s view of the situation.
“If you understand, you naturally must realize that it’d be in your best interests to come quietly,” the tall, powerfully built old Daoist said coldly.
Su Yi put away his wine, his presence suddenly plain and calm. There was no outer sign of his true strength.
Then, he stepped forth without a word.
He’d tasted the power of the Great Qin Empire’s Divine Wandering Realm experts, but he didn’t know how their Silence Realm experts compared. Would they be weak and brittle, too?
He wanted to test it for himself!
“You want to fight?” The old man in Daoist robes frowned. He’d refrained from striking to kill earlier because he wanted Su Yi to taste what it really meant to be backed into a corner, alone, with no hope of reinforcements. Perhaps then Su Yi would lower his head and give up the struggle.
Who’d have thought he’d be this stubborn?
Su Yi was still one thousand feet away when his sleeves billowed, and he suddenly threw a punch.
The nine astral lightning dragons shifted, letting out thunderous roars. They revolved in the air, then lunged.
Boom!
Heaven and earth shook, and the sky suddenly split. The buildings covering the surrounding streets collapsed with a bang, reduced to powder.
The nine lightning dragons were condensed from a Silent Realm expert’s Eternal Laws. Such power was far beyond a Divine Wandering Realm Eternal.
But when Su Yi’s punch landed, the nine dragons suffered a terrifying impact. Sword qi swept out from the point of collision, and astral lightning scattered.
Before the clashing attacks separated, Su Yi leaped, swinging his fist like a sword and struck over one hundred times in rapid succession.
Every strike landed with unstoppable force. As their tyrannical power overlapped, the nine dragons trembled uncontrollably, scattering snowy sparks of electricity.
The old man in Daoist robes grunted coldly, then charged forward, his aura and momentum rising. His hands condensed into a seal, and the nine astral lightning dragons’ momenta shifted. It was as if they’d come to life.
But it was then that Su Yi’s last strike landed, with all of its long-accumulated power. It had wondrous, transformative power; all of Su Yi’s earlier strikes overlapped, then erupted all at once.
The overlapping, explosive power was endlessly terrifying. A flood of destructive power arose between Su Yi and the old man in Daoist robes, then swept outward.
Divine radiance swept outward with waves of Dao Light. The entire area enveloped in the Golden Halo Dragon Formation shook violently.
The old man in Daoist robes was forced several hundred feet back, disbelief written all over his face.
Su Yi, meanwhile, just swayed on his feet, his robes rustling around him.
Boom!
That tumultuous, destructive power had yet to calm down when Su Yi shot forth.
Countless streaks of sword qi whooshed forth in a dense flood, like a river of sword qi tearing through the sky.
The old man in Daoist robes roared, then circulated the full extent of his cultivation base and unleashed a divine ability without any further hesitation.
But he was instantly forced back.
As countless streaks of sword qi shot toward him, his defensive powers were left riddled with cuts. They hadn’t injured him, but they were each a shock to his vital energy. It was painful to the extreme.
His expression shifted yet again. Is this really the power of an Unfettered Realm cultivator?
He was going all out. No Unfettered Realm cultivator in the Blue Peak Continent, let alone in the Great Qin, could possibly have blocked his attacks.
Boom!
Su Yi had no intention of giving the old man the chance to catch his breath. He was already launching his next attack, blue robes billowing around him.
He swung his palm like a sword, sword qi filling the air and filling three hundred thousand feet of sky.
The Golden Halo Dragon Formation shook violently.
Su Yi drew closer and closer, charging straight in, while the tall old man in Daoist robes moved further and further away!
