Chapter 1861: Martin pays a visit!
Crystal City,
Magic Lord Clint came to his senses. If he took any action right now, his name would be further damaged.
So, he retreated. He looked at Elder Blake and the others. Then, he gave a final look towards the areas inside the crystal community.
Swoosh!
Clint then left the place. He didn’t even look back. Once he was gone, the others sighed in relief.
Elder Blake swept his gaze across the area. He saw his friend Chris and nodded towards him.
Chris then ended the live broadcast. Only then did their mission come to an end. Blake then decided to leave.
He placed two officials at the front; he doesn’t want Magic Lord Clint to come back. The onlookers left the place a few minutes later.
They didn’t know what was going to happen next. The Green Elemental Tower Wizards had shot themselves in the foot.
…
Office
In the office, I watched the news as well. Magic Lord Clint had exposed himself. Now, the people’s anger would turn towards him and the Green Elemental Tower.
I can expect that the Green Elemental Tower won’t cause problems hereafter. They will be wary that they could be live-telecast again.
I smiled, but it was not enough to quell my anger. Magic Lord Clint had attacked the members.
He needs to get revenge personally. Right now, Magic Lord Clint is the focus of attention. If he takes action now, it would backfire.
I wanted to isolate Magic Lord Clint first. When everyone stops paying attention to him, then I will take action.
I had already marked Magic Lord Clint as a dead man in his mind. I will eliminate him slowly.
Next, he will focus on targeting the wizard families. They too sent their men to stir up trouble here.
An icy cold intent flashed in my eyes. Then, I collected my thoughts and returned to the office room.
Chris and the others came to see me. Their job was done. I thanked them for their help. Then, they left the place with their staff members.
Elder Blake still had his two officials in the shop. He doesn’t want others to use this opportunity to cause problems.
Time passed.
That evening, an unexpected guest paid a visit. Upon seeing the person, I was shocked. The person was none other than old man Martin.
I went out to greet him myself and brought him to the office. We sat down on the sofa opposite each other.
“Old man, what are you doing here?” I asked.
To be honest, I’m happy and shocked. The old man doesn’t leave the bookstore easily. He has his own business as well.
“Well, I wanted to come here after knowing that you bought a shop. I thought you would buy something similar to a bookstore, not an appraisal shop.”
“It came as a surprise to me. Before I could get here, trouble had already come knocking on your door,” Martin said with a chuckle.
Hearing that, I understood he was referring to the Green Elemental Tower.
I shook my head and said, “They had been waiting for me. I would be surprised if they didn’t do anything.”
Martin nodded his head.
Then he looked around the place before asking, “Why didn’t you open your shop in the magic city? If you had a shop there, no one would have dared to cause problems. I would be looking after the shop as well,” Martin added.
He was being serious. He has a good rapport with the kid and doesn’t want anything bad to happen to him.
He knows that the Magic Tower people are not nice. They had tried to kill the kid before, and they wouldn’t give up. They would try again.
I pondered. Old man Martin’s idea was good, but he doesn’t know that I opened the shop for intel gathering. It is also my base.
“Old man, you are right. But I’m safe here. The city is under the Silver Tower. The whole city supports me.”
“From the officials to the local people, everyone knows me. They helped me with the business as well,” I said to him.
Martin’s eyes flickered.
“Do you think people would still come here?” Martin asked out of curiosity. He was sure that people would be afraid to come, even if their city falls under the Silver Tower.
Just then, a group of people walked into the shop. They were all locals. They had just seen Magic Lord Clint driven away earlier.
They knew the place was safe. The officials were standing at the entrance; they wouldn’t allow people to cause trouble.
Upon seeing that the shop was quiet, they could see one or two people inside. The previous staff were nowhere to be seen.
“They are here,” I uttered.
Old man Martin smiled. I signaled old man Rock to address them. Old man Rock nodded his head.
“I guess you are right. This place is indeed good. No one would break the rules casually,” Martin said with a smile.
Then his smile disappeared, and he warned: “But you know that Forbidden Wizards don’t care about that. If they want to kill you, they have many ways to do it,” Martin said in a cold tone.
Hearing that, I became quiet. I recalled Forbidden Wizard Remi.
My eyes gleamed with a twinkle. It has been some time since I made an appearance, yet there has been no reaction from the Black Tower.
Compared to the Fire Elemental Tower and the Green Elemental Tower, the Black Tower is more dangerous. But they haven’t taken any action so far.
Old man Martin saw through my thoughts. He asked, “What are you thinking?”
I told him about my doubts. I couldn’t believe the Black Tower was silent. Old man Martin was surprised. He too had forgotten about that.
He said, “It’s not a good sign. These people have more vengeance than the other two magical towers. You have to be careful. Maybe they are cooking something.”
“Pay attention to your staff. Unlike other towers, they would dare to use a Forbidden Wizard against you,” Martin said.
He had seen this type of problem before. If the Black Tower marks someone as an enemy, they will try to eliminate that person.
