“We won’t follow you,” an elderly woman voiced out all of a sudden.

Hearing that, the middle-aged man got angry. He decided to make an example out of the old woman. She was already a burden due to her old age.

He decided to kill her.

“Since you guys are not listening to me, I’ll teach a lesson to this old woman.” After saying that, he cast a magic spell.

A scorching red magic circle appeared in mid-air. The next second, red flames shot out from the circle.

They were all directed at the old woman and others. He had said he would teach a lesson to the old woman, but he didn’t mind hitting others.

The next second, I disappeared from the spot and appeared on the ground next to the old woman. I took her and a few others before retreating.

The middle-aged man was shocked. He didn’t expect someone to appear and save the old woman. He saw the person was wearing a mask.

The wizards from that country are known for using wood-type magic. But the person didn’t use any spell, so he was not sure.

He didn’t attack. When the aftermath had settled, he asked, “Who are you?”

“Are you from the same team who attacked our tribes?” he accused directly.

I looked at the old woman. She was safe, but her eyes were filled with apprehension. She didn’t trust me either.

I shook my head and said, “I’m a traveler. I was just going to the Verdantwood Country. But I heard your despicable threats earlier, so I had to stop.”

This time the tribal people believed it. Their doubts were all gone.

“It must be him,” the old lady said.

Hearing this, others dropped their wariness. They knew the place; they could go there by themselves.

The middle-aged man was stunned. He too believed it. He was afraid. He had done such things, and he couldn’t control the group anymore.

They knew the way to the stone house. They could go there without his help. He looked at the man with hatred. He couldn’t do anything to the outsider either.

He was doing something suspicious. Seeing that, I paused my footsteps. I decided to watch over him.

I landed on one of the tree branches. The tree was a giant tree over 50 meters high. The middle-aged man was taking something out.
